Terson drew his Desert Eagle and began firing with pinpoint accuracy, his heavy caliber bullets blasting holes into the scorpions even with their thick armor.
Reily growled and started laying down wave after wave of fireballs at the scorpions that heated their armor and would burn it off.

Toushi made ice spikes shoot out from the ground, under the scorpions.
Suki summoned her moon and sun swords and ran towards the scorpions, hacking away at them.

((Or.. the day after tomorrow. XD))
The scorpions were specifically immune to fire. If this was not made clear in the previous post, apologies. Unless it entered their body through orifices, which was too unlikely to even consider, fire would not harm them. Heavy caliber bullets, and ice stalagmites, however, would. Even so, neither would kill these scorpions until they were literally dismembered. And each scorpion scuttled around quite quickly, and would attack back with deadly precision as well when attacked by sword. Their stingers possessed a longer reach than most any sword, and if a tail was to be fended off, the pincers (which acted unlike normal scorpion pincer functions) would disembowel the target in the process of having its own tail severed.
Really, range was the way to go, but without fire.
Kasai, particularly, enraged and berserk as she was, found herself in danger by these giant arachnids that would prove superior purely because of their longer reach and multiple bodily weapons and powerful armor.
Fatal stood by and watched all of this, still thinking. He possessed all his earlier strength; the Library was just no longer under his control. He would have to get it back--an almost impossible feat, admittedly--after destroying these. But if he could learn Terson's secret--that would be absolutely delicious.
Fatal's touch still retained the ability to deal death (or trophyfication) on contact. His necromantic power was enhanced that far by all the trophies he had obtained. Fatal slowly examined the battlefield and began to decide how to best approach Terson. He decided that trophyfication--oh, yes. Trophyfication-resistant. Well, killing all the rest would work fine enough, first. All Fatal had to do, was touch them.

Despite the danger she was in, Kasai still tried to attack the scorpions with fire and her sword. All of her common sense was lost, replaced with the desire to kill. That was all she could think of. But because of her recklessness, she was already suffering some damage. Still, she tried hacking away at the nearest scorpion, dodging whenever it attacked her.

Terson found and interesting fact, the scorpion poison was actually deadly acid that could burn through almost anything, and Terson used this as an advantage, blowing large holes in the stingers and watching as the acid dripped down and burned off their tails and back legs.
Reily looked at what Terson had done and got her own idea, she manipulated her fire expertly and sent it flaring through the creature's maw, burning it from the inside out.

Fatal looked about as his scorpions were destroyed one-by-one. Although, in this process, the many more that scuttled about could not be ignored. While firing at one or three, Terson could not be able to simply avoid five more. This fight was progressing oddly.
The same basic mechanics applied to everyone.

Terson was getting frustrated, suffering from numerous cuts and gashes from scorpion pincers. He pulled of his coat and growled viciously as hair sprouted over his body, turning him into the beast. He then leapt into the air and loosed his roar on the nearest scorpion, watching as it was obliterated by the blast.
Reily growled, her entire body flaring up in flames, her armor had protected her from any serious damage, but she still had a few minor cuts. However she refused to relent, flames blasting into the beings and burning them to cinders within their shells.

Toushi put up ice walls and barriers to protect her as she kept attacking the scorpions. She was getting tired from using all this magic.
Suki made sure to dodge the scorpions' deadly stingers with her speed as she cut off their pincers and stingers. Just like the others, she was injured as well, but nothing fatal.

...nothing Fatal. Said necromancer summoned more of his power.
"This is taking too long," he said, and his voice was eerily high-pitched, as if coming from some sort of spirit. It did not possess a normal pitch or timbre, and nor did it even sound human.
"I'll summon--Gigagazth!"
It should be noted that any named beast of Fatal's would not be very pleasant to fight. All should receive the general impression that they did NOT want this 'Gigagazth' fellow to be summoned. A magic circle appeared suddenly around Fatal, as his eyes glowed through closed eyelids and ethereal energy began to condense.
Although the scorpions were now doing their absolute best to prevent Fatal from being disturbed for the few seconds it would take to finish this powerful spell, they were already diminishing in number. All it would take would be to disrupt Fatal's concentration... but act quick.

Kasai turned her attention to Fatal and rushed forward at him. Flames suddenly appeared, whipping and twisting around her. The flames shot out from Kasai and attacked Fatal from almost all sides.

The flames proved effective in disrupting Fatal from his concentration, but Kasai, in her blood lust, failed to notice the scorpion stinger, erupting from the ground and aiming, quite faster than one could blink, towards her belly.
It intended to pierce either that--or her heart.

The stinger soared up at Kasai, and then implanted itself right in The Beast's chest, he whimpered slightly but loosed his roar anyway, blasting away the stinger while sacrificing himself, turning into a trophy.
Reily was faster then Fatal could be, she ran up to the Beast and revived him before Fatal could get a hold of him.

Kasai saw how the Beast sacrificed himself to save her. Her clouded eyes widened, and she grew angry. Her eyes started to glow a yellow-gold color, her pupils completely gone.
Suddenly, a flame vortex engulfed her. After a brief moment, it went away and something that resembled Kasai was in her place. A fire demon, with flaring skin and wings and fiery red hair. She wore very similar clothes like Kasai's. In fact, it was Kasai. (Some of the her clothes and accessories had burn off though.)
She had stayed away from the shrine too long. The piece Oni had embedded into her soul was starting to morph her soul. If she continued like this for too long, she'll be a demon for good.
But Kasai didn't realize this at all. All she cared about was killing Fatal right now. She held up her hands and shot a highly concentrated fire blast-beam at Fatal.

Toushi saw what happened to Kasai as her eyes widened. We need to get her to the shrine... She thought to herself as she continued to fight off the scorpions.
Suki had finished off the patch of scorpions that were attacking her. She stabbed one her swords into the ground as she leaned on it. She was tired and wounded.

Fire engulfed Fatal, blasting past him and leaving the ground scorched. When the flame and smoke dissipated, Fatal was still standing there. His body was smoking, but otherwise untouched. Then the reason became apparent: his entire body was cloaked with a powerful magic field.
Fatal's expression was passively annoyed. But his eyes... they were growing darker....
"You want to play with me," he asked, voice now massively distorted out of proportion, "then let's."
Now Fatal would no longer use minions. He himself would fight them.
When a massive blast of sonic energy blew everyone around Fatal away with massive force, equivalent of that of a jet's engine (minus the fire), Fatal let himself drift rapidly a large distance away. Then, he began blasting targeted orbs of levitated earth at the scattered people.
No, there was not a one-hundred per cent chance that they were affected by this. That would be godmodding. But if any possessed the power to not be blasted away by this, then fine. Fatal was still sent far away from them. They would need to approach Fatal over a large distance under heavy artillery now.
Necromancy was Fatal's specialty, but other magic types, as said, were still under his skill to perform. And at his elevated level of power, he was certainly capable of being a terrible and powerful enemy.
He would just lose his energy more quickly.
