Catching her brothers hand, she held it to her cheek for a moment, giving it a light squeeze before releasing him. Flashing her brother a genuine smile she turned back to face her father.
"If you don't mind, we'd like to stay a while. Have the opportunity to get to know you." Her voice was almost hesitant as she spoke, as she couldn't be sure her father wanted anything to do with them now that they were almost grown.

Lucid looked up at them, instantly masking the exhaustion. He sincerly hoped that Seth had found some useful information on his quest, so that they could get to the bottom of Lyra as soon as possible. He also hoped and prayed that Arjay and his sword would be an easy fix, though he doubted that. And now, he really wished to get to know his children, but felt that there wasn't going to be enough time for everything that he had to do. He smiled though, seeing his daughter's look.
"I believe there will be a lot of time for getting to know each other." he said, rising from the stool. With a sweeping gesture, he started out of the lounge. "The second floor is where the rooms are generally, but we have some on a lower level as well. Most of the rooms have heavy blackout curtains over the window. It is your choice."

"I do not care, any room is fine, truly." she answered, and then curious she turned and offered her father a slight smile.
"Which room would you choose for me?" she asked quietly, wondering.

Shaking his head at his sisters antics, Julian heaved a sigh and moved his gaze from his father to his twin.
"Shyendra I do not think he has time to humor your odd moods, can you not just pick something?" he asked, his tone exasperated. He fought a smile at the quelling look that he could have sworn she flashed his way before lowering her gaze. Rolling his eyes heavenward, he followed his sisters lead and made the effort to try.
"I would apologize for her, buts it's only our first night and she gets much worse." he stated empathetically. his eyes lighting slightly with humor.

Lucid nodded slightly, turning toward the stairs.
"I think I have just the rooms." he said, headed up them. He lead them to a long corridor at the end of which were two doors that stood facing each other. On the left door was a large butterfly carefully carved into the wood of the door. This door he pushed open first. "For you, Christiana. A room as bright and sunny as you are." He motioned her in with a sweep of his hand. He had originally had these rooms locked, but on the way up the stairs, he'd magically unlocked them, tidying them for use. This one was a vivid blue, like the summer sky and the walls boasted murals of meadows and butterflies of all kinds. The bed was a four poster canopy bed, with draperies the same color as the walls. The other furniture was made of dark polished wood and was situated so that there was still plenty of floor space.

Shooting her brother a quick glare from under her lashes, Crissy moved to follow him. She paused in the doorway just long enough to admire the doorway and run her fingers lightly over the carved butterfly that graced the center of it. Stepping inside, she drew in a stunned breath. It was beautiful, bright, vivid and open all at the same time. She paused in the doorway and turned in a small circle, her eyes moving over the murals that graced the walls. The butterfly's looked so real, like someone had captured them in flight and simply encased them in the walls. The furnishing were plentiful but the room wasn't crowded. Making her way over to the bed she smiled as she ran her hand down the heavy comforter. It was soft as silk and she loved the textures of it. Looking up at her father, she smiled, truly smiled. Her eyes lighting with her pleasure at the discovery.
"It's beautiful...and perfect, thank you." Brushing her hair out of her face as she spoke she spared a glance for her brother before returning her gaze to her father.
"Are you sure you don't mind me using it?" she asked.

A smile graced his lips as Lucid watched his daughter.
"I would not have offered it to you if I minded. It wants to be used." he said, then turned to his son. He loved wolves and if his son was anything like him, Lucid had the kid pegged. Shifting across the small corridor, he went to the opposite door. This one was made of a slightly darker wood, and had a beautiful wolf carved into it.
"I think this one suits you." he said, pushing open this door. The floor was covered in thick black carpet, but the room itself was circular, not square. Tucked on the far side was a bed that complimented the room by being circular as well. It bore no canopy, nothing too fancy. Fitted to one side of the room was a desk made of a deep red color. This matched the wolf patterns on the wall above it. The rest of the walls has white wolves painted into them, most of them participating in the pack howl. A trio of pups played in the snow just behind the door and the mother wolf watched them dutifully from above the bed, with her mate, the alpha beside her. The rest of the room was decorated accordingly, with built in weapon racks and mats to practice on.

Stepping into the room Julian struggled not to show his surprise. Like his sister he had an urge to go run his fingers over the ornate carvings that graced his room, but he refrained. He didn't want to be impressed and hated to admit that he was...very much so.
"It is exceptional..." he muttered softly, not meaning to say so aloud but refusing to take it back once he realized he had. Turning to look at his father, he studied him for a long moment.
"Thank you." he said simply, not sure what else to say. He wasn't as good with people or words a s his twin.

"You are welcome." he said, leaning in the doorway. "I am sorry that I let you down. I know it bothers you that I didn't work a miracle and make your mother let me take both of you." He knew he might not make things better, but felt that it had to be said anyway. "Your mother wasn't the easiest person to win battles with. I loved her so very much that I found myself often unable to tell her no or deny her things. I know, it's pretty pathetic considering I'm the world's top criminal hunter at the moment and probably the oldest vampire alive. But it is true, whether you believe me or not."

Watching him, Julian weighed his options. He knew his opinion obviously mattered to his father. Hesitantly, he offered a tentative connection, something they could at least have in common.
"As you said it is in the past. It can't be changed. And I can believe that about mother." he paused to glance over at his sisters doorway.
"Christiana is like that as well. She doesn't ask for much but when she does, she makes it hard to deny her of whatever it may be." he added ruefully, a slow smile lighting his features for a moment.

Lucid allowed a grin.
"Better to get used to it now, Son." he said. "It'll be worse when you fall in love with the woman or man meant for you. You'll be able to deny them nothing." He glanced over at Christiana's doorway, noting that she was enjoying her room as well. He found that this was probably the best way to call it a night. "I must get some rest before Seth if due to arrive back here. I hope you both sleep well." he said to both, then started back down the corridor toward his own chamber.

The wind was teasing playfully along his scales as Seth flew through the air toward home. The night sky was clouded and dark, the moons rays barely able to peek through the cover to light the ground below. He was grateful for the cover, not wanting to be gawked at by mortals as they tended to due and followed by hunters. He was wounded, he knew it, and could feel the blood running down his back from the hole that gaped there. The crisp air stung but he could ignore it. He was injured yes, and while he hadn't been able to discover who was after Lyra, he knew exactly how much they were offering, and a bit more about why they wanted her. The information had cost him though, Seth thought now, and he hesitated to return home. Talon had insisted, and though he knew his father would be pissed at the injury, he didn't have the strength to fight. He made his way over the water, knowing that blood fell from him like red rain. is blood was like acid to most things, it was going to fall anywhere, Seth knew he would rather it fell into the water. He was only a dragon demon, so his blood wouldn't contaminate a large portion of the sea like a pure dragons would but it still had effects that were similar. Grateful to finally see the Haven in the distance, he reached out to call his father to him and wasn't surprised to find that he couldn't. All of his remaining strength was going into maintaining the form of the dragon just to reach home.
Talon, who had been flying above his master to avoid the droplets of blood, beat his wings strongly to push ahead and let out a piercing cry across the night sky. He called for help, knowing that Seth wouldn't make it into the castle on his own. The dragon demon injuries had been far worse, as groups of hunters had banded together just across the Delmorian plains. They had been watching the haven, ordered to ambush any male who had stepped from it's protection. They had fought back, and even gathered information of their own. Most of the hunters had been killed but a few had escaped. Seth had taken far more injuries than he could heal. Even Talon had not been able to aid him. Now, the dragon was making his way home with a large gaping hole that went through his chest and out of his back. Thankfully most vital organs had only been brushed and Seth had been able to repair what little had been torn, but that was all he managed to do. Weak from the fight, healing himself, and blood loss, Talon feared for his master life for the first time.

Lucid, who had just been out to feed, glanced skyward, then lifted his arm to the falcon. Fear was a brief feeling as he scanned the sky for Seth. He could feel the weariness of the bird, though, as well as see it.
:What happened?: he asked, sending Talon some energy. He knew that what little energy he sent the bird would be sent to Seth anyway.

Talon, still sore from his injuries, flew slowly downward in an awkward circle. His usual graceful decent was gone as the he fought to simply find a good angle to land upon Lucids arm. A part of him was grateful that his master had taken the time to heal him of most of his injuries before working on himself, another was furious due to it. Sweeping downward, his talons gripped Lucids arm hard, though he didn't penetrate skin. It took a long moment of swaying before he thought himself straight enough to fold his wings down.
:We were ambushed.: he replied quietly, his voice strained. He sent all his remaining energy to Seth knowing that the dragon needed it.
:Seth comes...:

Seth who had been flying slowly, waited only until he was well over the cliffs, still several yards from Lucid and his falcon. He thought to land but practically fell from the sky, the last of his energies giving out as he did so. He shifted almost as soon as he hit the ground. The dragons form contorting, and falling away to reveal the man that had been underneath it. Not even bothering to try to move, Seth closed his eyes and focused on breathing..his lungs were fine. He knew that, bt that didn't make it hurt any less to breathe. His chest and back both felt as if they were on fire. The cool air hitting it only seemed to intensify the pain. He had to force his chest to rise and fall, attempting to block all the pain.

Stroking Talon's breast feathers, Lucid turned, opening the doors to the castle to allow the raptor entry. When Talon had flown in to sit on the perch that stood just inside the doorway, Lucid turned and moved over to where Seth lay, kneeling down to look at the wound.
"Nice one." he said, poking at the edges with a finger. "Good thing I just fed and can heal you. Tell me everything that happened." Placing a hand on Seth's forehead, he sent him energy in small doses not wanting to send the demon into shock.
