"Well, it's only homework becaue I didn't get it finished in school." She walked out of the kitchen and onto the ceiling, her glass of orange juice uneffected by gravity as well. "Hmmm... It's been a while since I tried me powers out an something other than me."

"Yeah. Here I was, thinking I can only manipulate gravity's control on meself, but I guess I can use it on other things too." She looked down at Reaper. "Wanna see if I can get you up here too? It'll only be temporary, but it's a nice little experiment."

MISSION- Flame on! Go find a fire pokemon!
Pokemon: Any non evolved, non legendary fire pokemon
Money: 600 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
The sound could be heard easily when Kiara removed the cover of off the instrument, carefully placing the top beside her on her bag. She stared at the different parts within: the motor, for instance, and the gears. She squinted in the evening light at the dimly outlined quartz watch before deciding that there wasn’t enough light to finish her poking around.
Her hand automatically reached for the cover, only to find that it wasn’t there. Had she placed it somewhere else on her bag, perhaps? Kiara glanced over at her bag. No, she had definitely set it down in its usual spot, she recalled. Nevertheless, she searched over the bag and failed to find it.
Kiara looked around from her spot, sitting against the tree, at the beach around her. She couldn’t spot it anywhere in the sand around her, and if it had somehow ended up in the waves that crashed over the HQ onto the beach, well, it was lost. She looked around her once more and decided that no, it was nowhere near her.
Kiara counted to ten under her breath to calm her rising annoyance; she had only gotten the watch a couple days ago and it had been careless of her to lose a piece the first time prying into it. Where could it have gone, though? Kiara wondered, staring into the blood-red sky, a result of the fading autumn sunset, and the dark purple space above it.
One last time, Kiara glanced around, and noticed something: footprints. Or, should she say, pawprints. A cunning smile threatened to break past her defenses. This was something she could use.
“Satan!” she called sharply, and there was an answering yip as a blackish-gray streak appeared from behind a tree and raced towards her. The poochyena skidded to a stop in front of her, his face wearing an expression of blissful happiness.
“My watch cover is missing,” she told the bemused pokemon. “If you have no problems with it, I’d like you to track it by scent and help me find out who took it.” Satan shook his head roughly and nodded, a serious expression crossing his gray muzzle. Kiara held out the rest of the watch to him, and he sniffed it carefully before placing his nose to the ground and sniffing the pawprints. After a moment, his head came back up and he began following the same trail the pawprints went along. Kiara stood up, placed the watch in a side pocket on her bag, secured it to her waist, and took off at a jog after the poochyena.
The trail took them up a winding pathway through a dense, rainforest like area. The forest was lush and green, but also quite muddy and filled with hindering objects such as vines and fallen logs. Kiara stepped over one such log, suppressing a wince as she stepped into something squishy that was definitely not mud. She wasn’t sure what it was in the dim light, and certain she didn’t want to know.
“Are we close?” Kiara called to her poochyena, receiving an answering yip from a few meters ahead. It sounded excited, and so she expected that the yip had been a yes.
They continued on for a few more minutes, and Kiara began to notice that the rainforest was, quite gradually, thinning out. A few minutes more and they would be out of the dense forest.
Sure enough, a couple more minutes later, they emerged onto a very hot, but relatively flat, rocky area. Kiara noticed something silver glinting in the last fading streaks of light at the other end. She walked forward a few steps, and realized it was the watch cover. Eyes and ears alert for any danger, Kiara walked slowly towards the rock the cover was on, Satan following her and growling softly.
Kiara reached the rock with no problems, but as she touched the cover, she heard sounds behind her, subtle things that she or anyone else would not have noticed if they hadn’t been listening and alert. The clicking of nails against stone. A low growl of anticipation that was not Satan’s familiar own. The swish of fur as many medium-sized bodies rubbed against each other in their silent haste to reach the bottom.
Kiara whirled around, needing no further encouragement, shoving the top into her pocket. As she did, the last rays of light disappeared, and night settled, casting eerie shapes on the rock walls and making the once-friendly forest and the sounds within it now seem menacing and forbidding. She glanced around, seeing nothing. However, she knew what she had heard, and continued to watch. Meanwhile, Satan snarled and his fur bristled as he crouched low beside her.
Soon, Kiara began to make out things in the murky darkness and catch glimpses of whatever it was that was around her. A glimpse of yellow, glowing eyes, or a flash as moonlight hit –something’s- claws. And then, as one, the whole group of them stepped forward, and Kiara saw them for what they were.
A large group of canine pokemon, mainly houndour and houndoom, surrounded her at all sides, forming a ring with their bodies. Some growled, others seemed to be waiting. As she watched, two houndoom stepped forward into the ring, and then moved to the side. A slightly larger than normal houndour stepped into the ring, passing the two others and then stood opposite her, head raised defiantly. It then howled a clear challenge.
Kiara glanced around for some sort of escape, then saw the area for what it was, as well: an arena, with only one way out. Conveniently, that exit was behind the houndour. Kiara stepped forward.
“You wish to battle.” It was a statement, not a question, but the houndour nodded anyway.
“If we win, will you let us go?”
Another nod.
Kiara turned to her pokemon, who was now bristling and ready to fight. “As you can tell, we must fight our way out of this,” Kiara said quietly. “Do your best.” Satan nodded, and jumped into the center. Slowly, the two pokemon began to circle each other.
The houndour attacked first, leaping and biting down hard on Satan’s leg. Satan retaliated, shaking his leg free and ramming into the houndour with a take down attack. The houndour snarled and bit down once more, Satan not able to dodge due to his bleeding leg.
“Bite,” Kiara ordered calmly, her eyes following every move. Satan managed to sink his teeth into his opponent’s front limb and the houndour howled in pain, releasing his tail in the process. The two broke apart, bleeding from bite wounds.
“Tackle.” Satan managed to get in the attack before the houndour inhaled and then exhaled, blowing red-hot embers into Satan’s fur. Satan yelped in pain as the close-range attack left him smoked and singed.
“Take down again,” Kiara said, her eyes beginning to show signs of intensity. Satan tried to lunge, but the other beat him to the first attack, exhaling again. This time, a poisonous purple fog floated out of the pokemon’s mouth. Too late, Satan inhaled it and his eyes crossed. Slowly, the poison began to eat away at his life. The poochyena shook the first effects off and rammed his shoulder into the houndour’s.
“Bite once more!” Kiara called, noticing that both the houndour and her pokemon were looking worn out. Satan attacked, but for all his trouble, got a mouthful of embers in the face. Satan howled in pain once more and collapsed, desprately rubbing the coals out of his eyes with his paws. Shakily, he stood back up, but the poison had done its work. He sank back down, falling into the realm of blissful unconsciousness. The houndour threw a challenging stare at Kiara.
Saying nothing, Kiara held out a pokeball and returned the pokemon.
“You did well,” she murmured quietly. She then took the second pokeball from her belt and pressed the button, releasing a small, blue, seahorse like creature. “Let’s finish this up, Aquarius,” she said, and the horsea nodded.
The houndour’s eyes widened, perhaps in fear, perhaps in anticipation. A second later, it leaped, aiming for another bite attack.
“Bubble, while it’s at close range,” Kiara commanded, and Aquarius complied, a stream of hardened bubbles popping –no, smashing- into the houndour’s open jaws. The attack was cut off mid-launch and the houndour landed on its paws. It staggered and its eyes crossed for a second. Kiara knew it was close to fainting.
The houndour shook the effects off and ran in for another bite attack, latching onto the sea horse pokemon’s tail.
“Now! Water gun!” Kiara called, and Aquarius shot a stream of water over his shoulder, straight into the dog pokemon’s face. The houndour’s eyes crossed, its iron grip fell slack, and it slumped off of Aquarius in a dead faint. Kiara permitted herself a slight smile, hardly noticeable. She pulled an empty pokeball from her waist and tossed it, the fainted pokemon swallowed up in a red light. The pokeball dropped to the ground and began to rock, back and forth.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
There was a faint glow as the button on the ball signaled the newest catch. Kiara recalled Aquarius, walking over to the pokeball and picking it up. She stared at it a moment before placing it on her belt, next to Aquarius’s pokeball.
“Welcome,” she murmured to her new pokemon. She glanced around her. At the edge of the arena, the two houndoom had parted the crowd, allowing her access back down as promised. Nodding to each in turn, she walked past them and entered the rainforest. With quick steps, she began to make her way back down the trail, back to the teleporter. Back to the HQ.

Maddy channeled as much of her powers as she could muster and she managed to manipulate the gravity around Reaper's body so he was standing on the ceiling next to her. "There. That wasn't so bad. You don't have to worry about the blood rushing to your head either. In this case, I manipulated gravity to pull you up instead of down, so you basically get a feeling of walking right-side up."

"Anyways, I have to leave now. I say you might last a half hour, maybe even an hour on the ceiling without me being here. Have fun!" Maddy suddenly disappeared, her ability of teleportation carrying her off elsewhere in the world.

Kiara made her way into the room, Satan following behind her. She paused by a table and laid her mission report down on it, then grabbed a rare candy from the bowl and made for an open chair. She sank into it, Satan giving a quick bark of greetings. Kiara tilted her head back to look at Reaper on the ceiling. "Hello, Reaper," Kiara said, watching him. She was mildly bemused as to why and how he was walking on the ceiling, but didn't let it show, just continued watching.

"Good," Kiara responded, still watching him. "And you? How are you doing?" Satan panted and stood up on his hind legs, trying to see Reaper more easily. All he succeeded in doing was falling flat on his back.
