Nelowulf See, I had originally thought that I'd be pretty much the only sith, and expected twelve jedi/iks to try and rape my a**. So I had all these redundancies made in case. As it appears to not be such, I have to install instead limiters to prevent your character from the awesomeness of Ferno's might. Hence why Link will win, no matter how hard you try to lose. Great. Now I'm fighting a guy with an arm tied behind his back. Makes me feel less incompetant.

Nah, you're just fighting someone who's a victim and villian of the vesscitudes of fate.
Ferno needs Link. That's the problem. Link can undo what Ferno has done. Makes no sense. But that's the problem. How to have link survive, and yet uncreate that which has created, if one is your mortal enemy?
Ferno does what no other sith does; he adopts a code of honor, which is self-defeating. He'll fight with all his might, however, he is forced to lose in the end no matter how hard he fights. He weakens himself to prevent dishonor from happening.
He fights at full strenth; however not at full potential. Trust me, you'll understand once you hit the endgame.

Ferno needs to destroy that which he has sowed. His foresight gives him the problems with the future if it continues.
He himself cannot do it, because he cannot solve the problem. More importantly, his code of honor will not let him betray those he has promised.
So he needs a tool, a link between his will, and the result. Hence Link.
Unfortunately, he cannot tackle link without destroying him at his current state. So he must undo himself partially, so he doesn't die, but at the same time, is able to give link the final push to do what is needed to be done.
Consider project coldspear.
The crystal's from Ilum. Isn't it odd that a sith would go to that specific Jedi Temple and cave for a crystal, instead of a more neutral planet or formation?
The crystal itself is too weak to sustain the coldspear. So Ferno has yet another problem. The energy required to fire Coldspear is far too vast for any system to maintain. Mostly because it doesn't require energy, but the Force.
Splitting off again, we have HM-74. a bio-matrix program. Sound familiar? Ought to if you keep up with the jedi records. Why? One word. Holocron.
Things beginning to piece together?

Your planning is too complex for someone who's only lesson in deductive reasoning is re-reading the Hound of the Baskervilles.

Imagine the fight on coldspear. The power cannot be handed by the crystal, yet for some reason it does not shatter. Consider the crystal only responds to light side energy. What's holding it together?
