Akemi looks up from her teacup, a hint of sadness in her eyes. She has not thought about her old home for many days now, sometimes she just thinks she is living in a dream - a wonderful, sense-enriched dream. "Hmm? Oh, Onee-chan, I come from Tottori. I have many fond memories of playing along the beach with my little sister there." The corners of her lips raise in the hint of a smile, but she dismisses the distant thoughts, and widens her eyes. "How about yourself, Onee-chan, where are you from?"

"I see," Tora smiled. "I'm from right here," she replied. Tora shifted her weight and adjusted her kimono. "My Mother and Grandmother were Geisha, so I was expected to be one too," she added. "But I love this life and wouldn't trade it for anything!" she added with a bright smile. "So, Akime-chan, where are you from?"

I come from a small village on the country side. I loved living there very much with my sister and parents. We used to have so much fun but, it is not a rich village and so needs much help. ^-^ . I am happy that I can leave the village to come and work with this okiya and help others be happy. :: thinking in to herself .... she is woundering about what her sister could be doing right now::. Torra-chan? Are you the onee-chan to all the others here? Is it difficult having so much expected of you? You grandmother and mother being such great geisha themselves?

"That must be quite an honour, carrying on the family tradition. Did you ever feel like you didn't want to be a geisha, though?" Akemi looked at Tora, deeply interested in the life of her Onee-chan, she'd always loved to hear stories.

"Not for one moment," Tora smiled sweetly. "I loved every moment of my training- even the maid part- because I knew it'd make me a stronger woman," she added. "I love art, and this is where my heart belongs one hundred per cent!" Tora smiled, thinking of her mother and grandmother. "I learned a lot from just watching the two of them," she laughed. "My grandmother was so animated and funny, and my mother was a business woman to the heart; therefore, I got a healthy mix of what to be. I know when to joke, and I know when to get to business," she continued. "I have almost been an Onee-sama to everyone," Tora smiled. "I have had the pleasure to see one of them become a Geisha," she said, thinking of Hara. "Now there are three people who can take on little sisters. My Onee-sama is still here, but very busy, so I hardly see her anymore," Tora said with a hint of sadness. "I took her place as head geisha because of that."

Akemi beamed at her Onee-chan and said, "your life sounds exactly as Akime said - out of a storybook!" She looks around the okiya, missing the way her days used to be filled with tidying and helping out here. "Now, what to do?" She muttered quietly to herself.

Tora gave a bitter-sweet smile. "Not every part of my life was so sweet, my young ones," she said. "There was once a dark chapter not long ago." Not wanting to spoil the mood, she added, "But it did bring about something very, very special. For, if not for that dark moment, I wouldn't have what I do now." Her smile brightend and she blushed at the thought of Hirose. Tora gave a knowing look to the maiko and maid, saying she could talk about it- all they had to do was ask.

Listening very closely to what Tora-chan had just said..... Akime-chan says "Please Tora-chan will you not tell us the story of your past?" :: Pleads with hopeful eyes:: I would love to hear anything you are willing to share with us. What was it that happened a while back? How did you change it from bad to good? So many questions you have left us with.......
(Post 13 I think... Sorry so short could not think of what to write...)

((OOC: That's okay! heart ))
Tora smiled, "Alright." She took a sip of her tea and placed it gently back on the table. "The story starts with a young man I once loved. He was a frequent patron of mine, and I began to slowly fall for him. I thought he felt the same way, because she showered me with complements and gifts every time we met!" Tora's ice-blue eyes sparkled at the memories. "But one day, a new maid came to our okiya. She was a fiery young thing from another land, so her foreign bone structure made her an exquisite beauty." Her heart dropped to the bottom of her stomach at the memory of Omny.
"When she became a maiko, I took her as my younger sister. Her personality began to show, however, and she was a very rude, selfish young girl with an attitude." Tora's eyes narrowed into slits as she continued. "One day she came back to the okiya very happy! She'd met someone, and it was the very man I loved." Her heart fluttered. "I was devastated! She knew very well I loved him. I spoke many times about him to her!"
"Anyway," she continued, "There was a large feud and some harsh words said. In the end, she left abruptly with no word. A few months past, and one night while out in the stables, I met and fed a stranger. He was very different. I was distant at first, because I didn't want to be hurt again. But I wasn't rude, so I talked to him. I started to feel my heart heal!"
"I left him, sadly, and the next night we met by chance in the hot springs! We shared our first kiss." Tora blushed harshly, as if it was yesterday this had happened. "Anyway, we've been speaking and seeing each other. And, the other night, I told him I loved him." Tora smiled. She was sure he felt the same, just needed to find the right time to tell her, just like she told him.
"He's my knight in shinning armor!" she smiled. "He saved my poor heart, and my life."

Sorry, I might be asking to many questions you do not wish to answer. ::bows down::
How long has it been since you were a maiko Tora-chan?

Tora smiled. "It's okay." She thought for a moment. "My first love is still around here," she said. "He is now dating the one maiko I made in to a Geisha," she added. Tora smiled again. "She asked permission first, though. She knew I was still upset over the last ordeal. He is to become her danna." She lowered her head. "I still get upset sometimes," she mumbled, fumbling with her fingers.
"Anyway," Tora said with a smile. "I became a Maiko at 15 and trained until I was 20," she added. "I was very young. As soon as I became a Geisha I took on a little sister, the one who moved, and then a few months later took on the one that became a geisha herself." She laughed. "Oh dear, I blabbered. I'm 26, so it's been eleven years since I was a maiko."

Do a lot of the maiko not become geisha?....... :: There I go with all the questions again:: ::looks down:: I am so sorry. I know I sometimes get carried away and stuff. Just stop me if I go on too long....
11 years is a long time ^-^. You must have been a great maiko. What did you find the difference was when you changed from maiko to geisha?

Tora smiled sweetly."Thank you so much! And, it's not a problem, Akime-chan," she said with a soft voice. "There are only three geisha in this okiya, and there will be another one soon," she added, thinking of Tohru. "The big difference is, because maiko attend school, they don't have to attend so many parties," she giggled. "When you become a geisha, you give up studies, but you have to start working hard." Tora looked at their frightened faces. "But not to worry, is all so wonderful and magical!" she said with a dreamy sigh. "Well worth it."
