He sighed. "All right then. This way." The door farthest to the right led to a set of stairs leading downward. As soon as he opened it, the place was filled with a strange sound that echoed a crowd of something. It sounded almost human, and was therefore creepy. Down the stairs they wet, and the noise got louder, turning into a yelping, grumbling, eeriy conversation sound. The walls were lined with cages, each burrowed into the stone work. It was a fairly large room, and a door on the middel of the furthest wall stood open, shedding fake light into the room. lighting up the cages and what lay inside. Dragons, each no loarge than an Irish Setter, some as small as terriars, sat talking to each other. The noise died only slightly when the four entered the room. "Coq dragons. Breed like rabbits. Smart, reliable, fierce." He still looked uneasy about the whole thing though.

Brassknuckles clipped Moon in the side, but it was tit for tat. The small blow opened a whole in the man's defense, and Moonstone mearly shoved the man backward, off balance, and to the floor. Didn't knock him out, but Moon would deal with him later. Slashstab got one in across the shoulderblades, before he found calws at his throat, crsuhing the fight out of him. Still his moral little self, although unaware that he was doing, Moon wasn't aiming to kill. Simply to immobilize. A somehwat warped sense of thinking. The chair hit, but wings were soft, and obsorbed most of the impact. The blow was enough to send him to ground, where he sunk his teeth into the nearest man's thigh, taking out a good chunk. Blood surted across Moon's face and chest.

Surprise. Here's the reason Moonstone wore boots. The bottums were cleated with small, sharp spikes, hidden by a darker under layer of leather and lacker. On his hands, he struck backwards, getting one in the chest and sending him back wards.

O'Konner trumped away from the castle, disapointment and concern across his face. The new King did not have the means to stop his ships from being destroyed. And could not spare any steel or gold for defense expensis. Which mean the O'Konner family farm was on it's own. Which meant feeding Deep Water was almost out of the question. He may not have been concerned, had he no concious. A starving city, while he had acres of cattle fat and fed, ready to be shipped out. He whipped a handkerchief across his brow. "Come on Kat. We still ahev two more places to visit about this little...concern before we can go home."

Eliot's ears where swiviling liek crazy, picking up tidbits of information all over the place, it was givign her a headach.

More cages, she fetl just as mich for these animals as she did the slaves. She kept herself close to piper, whining ocasionaly.

"What did the king say daddy?" She had not been alowed to go in, and had waited outside with the guards. "Where are we going?"

Onyx just waited. Off course, with him down, even for a second, there was lots of clubbing. two by fours, bats, hunks of treelimbs, whatever. those the let live, got up, and kept at him. five more minutes left. hopefully by then Moonstone woudl learn fear, to think that his brother, emotionless, had simply left or not cared enough to help..or had already been taken down before the chair hit him..and that he might actually not survive this.

Malik looked around.

"Trained attack dragons. interesting. you say they are reliable, that they are clever. how clever?"

Though he did notice that Piper was getting that 'can we please do something else' look. That ment it was either conclude soon and she would certainly make known her displeasure.

She was trying to be good...which meant she turned to her little habit formers, tugging at her collar occassionaly, a hand playing with her halved ear from time to time. Every now and then she'd take an interest in in chainmail or her nails. She had really filed them down short didn't she? Piper coupldn't help it...she didn't like the feel of them on her skin...too much like a blade point when given enough pressuring. Her attention also focused on Eliot, reaching down to pet and scractch at the wolf's ears and neck every so often. "So...mini dragons." How did she like that idea? Didn't know...how trainable were they...she wasn't going to have them eating her horses...

Roarke stuttered. "H-how clever?" He pointed at one cage with both hands. "They are talking to each other. That's how clever." He went to a cage. All the dragons here had metalic colourings. Bronze, gold, silver. Roarek pulleed open a door that held a larger steel one. A blunt nose, teeth outside the mouth like an aligator, smallish wings. "they aren't good at flying, but then can glide." He lead it out by a leather caollar. they didn't need anything else, the would pretty mcuh stay where they have been put. "Sit." It sat. He kneeled down. "Okay, Steel, here's the deal. This drow's name is Malik. He's requested from me some services. He's going to ask you do to something, I want you to follow that order. Got it?" The dragon gave nothing in thw ay of response. Roarke turned back to Malik. "Give him an oder." The rest of the dragons had gone silent, watching.

Moonstone growled. The fight wasn't scaring him, not yet. It was making him angry. When he struck you down, you were supposed to stay down. A club hit him int the shoulder, and it's wielder found himself flung across the room, hitting the wall upsidedown and hitting his head on the way to the floor. Soon, he wasn't even keeping track of the things he was getting hit with. His anger, and yes, even soem fear, were hiding the pain. It had became about getting them, before they took him down. He bit an arm, other hand digging into someone's trachia. There was a finger in his mouth, but he wasn't sure where it had come from. His boot stepped down hard on someone's softer shoes, pinning him while Moon struck the guy in the chin. Feathers and whiskers were helping him know when someone got too close.

"He said there is nothing he can do. It's an external problem" He sighed. "come on. I need to find the Fortress and tell them personally that cattle will no longer be gracing their table, unless they can build me more ships. Which won't survive on the open water until that threat is taken care of anyway. Which emans no beef." He took his daughters hand. "watch yourself here. Starving people will steal from children."

Three minutes. hmm. moon was holding his own, wasn't he. nope, that was going to take care of that. Someone wasn't playing so nice anymore..well..nice for them...and had a peice of lead pipe. ouch. that was going to put him down good. provided they got to hit with it. Moonstone was fighting on instinct.

Malik waved his hand at the talk about them speaking to eachother.

"All dragons from my plane can talk to eachother. hell find a sage who'd devoted most of thier life to it and you can be taught thier language."

A look down at Steel.

"Metalic dragons. steel, silver, gold. gold are usually handy spell crafters...silver are hard to damage I think. don't know what the specialty of this type is."

One hand rested on Mavolence, giving the hilt a caress.

"Use your breath weapon, Steel. I want to see what it does."

Of course he'd want to see that. Though she would admit it...they were cute in an odd funny looking way...endearing in thier own right. A look to Roarke with a raised eyebrow. "They don't have a taste for horses do they?" Because if so...well it wasn't looking good for the possibility of one, or more for that matter, to be venturing the property. "Or I should rather say hunting live meat..." Right, horses seemed to be...missing in this place. If she reacalled correctly, Aella mentioned they had all died off by now.

"Don't you worry about the horseflesh, Piper. These critters won't eat what's not given to them by their masters. They don't trust slave hands or servants, and won't hunt unless commanded too." He shrugged. "They don't need to eat a lot for that matter. They detest gaining weight." He patted Steel on the head. "Regardless of colour, Mlaik, these guys don't cast spells. They are strickly physicall." he coughed into a hand. "Technically they are not even real dragons. Thus the coq dragon title. They hatch from unfertilized dragon eggs."

Steel, turning around and facing the other direction so that he wouldn't hit anything, opened his mouth and inhaled. A ball of light seemed to roll around in the back of his mouth for a moment, before it grew and was expelled. Much like a blast from a laser gun in a science fiction movie, it made a small crater near the door way. Stell did this twice more, each time the small ball of light getting bigger. Three different shots, which left room for calcualted decision on what and where to hit when attacking.

The door of Stonekeep slowly opened, and in walked a mighty warrior. For in the past few hours, he had braved the might of the dead, and the legacy of his forefathers, Tarathiel stood tall. And, rather vulnerable, so he quickly stepped inside the keep. "Hello, hello, hello." He said in a quick percession, but suddenly changed his attitude to reflect his stronger internal sense of self. "I have returned from afar..." He paused and looked about the room. Something seemed different...

He was still wearing his helmet. In one swift and fluid movement, Tarathiel removed his helm to reveal his handsome face. His eyes seemed to be less amber than they normally were in the normal light spectrum, and his hair only passed his shoulders and was miss managed from donning the helmet. He noted in a reflection his messy hair and smiled, charming as ever. "I still look beautiful even when I am ungroomed."

"The gift of the elf was to wear even mud in a beautiful and graceful fashion." He laughed softly, "Where is Special and what news does she have?"

"Impressive display."

Malik crossed his arms lightly, pondering for a moment.

"Breed like rabbits? is there a way to avoid that by say getting two males? I do know that there are species of reptile that can change sex if need be."

Then a glance at piper with the 'after we get the new pets I'm doing shopping' look. though he couldn't help the slight grin. boy won't a pair of imps be surprised.

Eliot couldn't help it, she growled low in her throat at the little dragon. He did look rather tasty after all and she had only eaten cheese... her tongue loled out of her mouth as her eyes gre rounder at the thought of raw meet.

"Steal from me daddy or steal me?" She walked, a littl eimpatient and very much bored. "When do I get to start experiencign this world you talk about hm?"
PostPosted: Tue Nov 08, 2005 4:41 pm

She crossed her arms lightly, one arm propping on the other to let her fingers placy with the scrollwork of her collar. But still she looked less than impressed. Maybe she wasn't, or maybe she was and was just covering it up. Who know...maybe Malik. Though a raised eyebrow to Malik. "What you wouldn't enjoy your own little pack of dragons dearest?" And she was poking at him again just because she could. Though she took to leaning against a wall, one finger twirling arouns strans of red and silver.

A look at Eliot. "You leave my dragonflesh alone. They won't think to fondly of me if one of them gets eaten." He lifted an eyebrow. "Not that you could catch one anyway." Roarke looked at Malik, shrugged, and smiled. "Just ask them not to breed."

The fighting had gone on for some time, a few very wounded, not quite dead people were scattered around, maybe one or two dead, but Moon didn't know that, and infact might never awknowledge such a fact. The were barring down on him, and while it was frightening, the adrenilin and excitment seemed to dampen it, mask it for now. Little cuts and bruses here and there, a particuarily painful chain welt lay across one forearm, but toher then that, he was doing pretty good. He toook a man out by the legs, throwing both outside the little gathered group.

Meilikki stopped what she was doing, sniffed the air, and went back to chopping a liver into small, even cubs. Her back was to the door, she was working on a samll counter, a medium sized cast iron pot beside her, filled with various things. She had miscaluclated, had not expected Tarathiel back so soon. The door opened.

"Yes yes, very handsom." She threw the cubs into the pot, cleaned off the knife with a rag, and fished out a wetstone from her pocket. She wet it, and began to sharpen her knife. She didn't like dull knives. "Aella is in the bedroom. Reading I think." She hid a yawn behind a hand, still not sleeping well. "but you didn't miss much anyway."

Iris stood by the fireplace, looking at notihng, just...standing there as if she was a piece fo the furniture. She had a feelign that the Oracle was uncomfotable with her presence, but there was no other way that the soulles knew how to act.

"Both, now hurry up." He took hold of his daughters hand and picked up the place down to the docks, where thier five person boat rested. "You can experiacne the world when it ebcome a better place. Right now, it's not so...worldy."
PostPosted: Tue Nov 08, 2005 4:56 pm

Tarathiel looked at Meilikki and smiled softly, and started walking towards her. He paused and looked at Iris for a moment, and then continued to beside the Oracle. "Do you think your enemy gave us this girl because he knew that I could not stand to see her soulless form, and would quest to restore it?" He asked hypothetically. He imidiately walked towards the door that concielled Aella.

"Then again, when would I fit that into my busy schedule. I need to be fitted for new armour, and I need to repair my scimitars, and I need to pay my crew, and I need to stop a demi-lich." He sighed as he knocked on the door, "Silly me, its sound proof. I hope she's dressed." He turned the knob and entered.

"Special, Report."

Eliot wilted only a little but her eyes never left the dragon. She wondered what Dragon flash tasted like? Pretty good she thought, it smelled good anyways. Oh well, she had better not. Her stomach Growled in protest.

"Oh, those guards didn't seem to bad." She hated being rushed along. She wasn't a child after all. Not anymroe. SHe was pretty sure she could take care fo herself.
