[ Resuming where Mariko left off, in the classroom... ]

Despite all of the crazy talk about vampires running amok in the village, Inoshi had no concern for the issue at all. If it was true. Vampires didn't exist, only in horror movies. Might as well be someone trying to pull a Halloween prank, and if they came her way, she'd have no problem giving them a bloody nose if they were 'hungry'. Remaining in the classroom to stay "safe" as one of the instructors put it, she began her studies.

Inoshi picked up the scroll containing the fundamental shinobi techniques, and began reading. The first was Kai, a technique requiring control of chakra internally to release the individual from techniques such as Genjutsu. This is effective by halting the chakra flowing through oneself to cancel out the invasive chakra. Understanding the general application behind this technique, she quickly performed it herself to make sure she was able to do it. The next was Henge, a transformation technique that allowed the user to assume the physical characteristics of someone else. Something that could come in handy specifically for espionage purposes. Inoshi, using one of the nearby students as a referenced, performed the technique and flawlessly duplicated their form before reverting back to her normal appearance. Bunshin no Jutsu. The most basic of cloning techniques, used to create physical copies of oneself of whom possess some of the capabilities of their caster, as well as intelligence. This being the very basic however, the most they could do is perform at a minimal level. Creating the clone was more difficult than Inoshi expected, but by the third attempt, it was successfully made.

Substitution is an effective tool when used to escape dangerous situations, potentially avoid serious injuries, or worse. Expanding ones chakra into the atmosphere and switching places with an object of relative torso size up to another person was all it took. Pretty explanatory, and though she had no real reason to test this out, she understood the mechanics behind it. Art of Walking on Water... We can do that? The amazing things one could do with chakra. By applying chakra to ones feet evenly, one could walk or even run with further proficiency in the technique, across the top of water. The technique following this was also similar, but allowed one to climb trees. Same concept here, accept one was adhering themselves to a surface to walk on it. Inoshi tested this on the nearby wall, and was somewhat impressed with the results. It appeared that she had a knack for controlling her chakra to some degree.

With all of the basic techniques learned, Inoshi returned the scroll and picked up the Maruton scroll. The String Reeling was first on the list, requiring the manipulation of string via chakra. One could rappel and strengthen the wire with additions of chakra, which could come in handy when attempting to tie targets down. Roof Tile Shuriken used chakra to manipulate tiles as projectiles - obviously, by its title. A specific number of tiles could be control depending on chakra expenditure, and also required said roof/tiles to be present nearby. Unfortunately, being inside the classroom didn't help with this very much, but Inoshi understood the concept at the very least. With further manipulations of chakra, one could create toothpick-like projectiles which expelled from their mouth via the Toothpick technique. Paired with other, similar techniques could prove this rather simple one as a great utility. Attempting it herself, the Yamanaka shot a few toothpicks into the nearby wall. Korabo was a technique which united others or oneself through their chakra. Performing techniques in unison to create more powerful outcomes by the combination. Each level of Korabo required training, so starting with the very basic rank, Inoshi practiced the concept on herself.

Shadowing Stealth, a technique which drew Inoshi simply because of its method. While not her specialty, she was rather adept at keeping herself out of sight when needed. Standing behind the curtain to the window she performed the technique, silently watching as students passed by without noticing, before endind the technique and returning to her studies. Another stealthy-like move. It was starting to make some sense that these type of techniques would be popular among ninja. Using ones chakra and their surroundings, they could seemingly blend into the background going unnoticed or blend with a crowd of people. Why it was called 'Magical Cloak of Invisibility' was beyond her, and corny as hell. Inoshi gave it a try, with similar results to the shadowing stealth technique. Not very entertaining, but she wasn't exactly doing any of this for the jokes, either. Mechanical Eight Traigrams Formation sounded much more interesting. As she read over the mechanics for the technique, she was interested in seeing what these walls looked like. However, when she recovered a drum and banged upon it confidently, nothing happened. Did she not have the right drum? Were the walls unable to be activated? Boring. The over-aged Academy Student sighed, and continued her business.

The Escaping Skill. Would have come in handy months prior when she was back in Giman and was held hostage by a rival gang. Luckily Hana and the boys were there to help her. By expanding chakra, binds and restrictions could be released, freeing the captive. She wasn't going to purposely tie herself up to try this, no matter how much she actually did enjoy tying people up... Anyway. Barrier Shatter Technique. Allowed one to destroy barrier purely made of chakra with their own. This was more effective with others trained in Korabo, strengthening the technique per individual helping the user. This might encourage a little teamwork, or a the very least getting to know some others--and having a barried--before this could be tested out. Inoshi raised an eyebrow at the next technique on the list. Who on earth would create this, and why? Already being pretty sexy, Inoshi didn't see the point of testing it out, but did so anyway for the amusement. Several nosebleeds later from the nearby students, the Yamanaka continued on with her studies. The Feigning Sleep technique would actually be the first technique in this list she could stand behind! All of this boring studying and training was starting to make her tired, but not enough to actually fall asleep. Honestly, she'd rather get on with this, but instead decided to take a quick nap for the sake of 'training'.

Waking up in a puddle of drool which had dampened the Maruton scroll, she rolled it back up as if nothing had gone wrong and picked up a sensory scroll. Signal Fire was the first, and these techniques would be some of her staples, considering she discovered her knack for sensing things. Picking up a pencil, she channeled her chakra and tossed it across the room. Using the echo technique, she slapped her hand upon the desk, and with that, sent out a wave of her own chakra that bounced off the walls in the room. She had a visual of pretty much all of the students within the room in her mind, as well as the pencil which landed in the far corner, still possessing her chakra signature. These techniques were a little more interesting, albeit basic. Nonetheless, that was all she could learn from this category.

Doton was one of the elemental affinities she possessed, and decided to start there to continue her training. The Earth clone was slightly better than any of the cloning techniques she learned prior, being that it was made of earth chakra. While still very basic, this clone was much stronger and sturder due to the earth properties, while being slower with speed and reaction as a result. It was a fair trade-off, to say the least. Reaching towards the ground, Inoshi used her earth chakra to manipulate what appeared to be a small, hand-sized rock, and tossed it out of the window. It was small, but the Rock Throw technique allowed her to throw rocks up to five pounds. If the window had been closed, she wouldn't have been opposed to breaking it, or maybe the back of the head of some of the annoying students in the classroom. Inoshi went outside to resume the rest of her training after 'causing a disturbance to the class' with her reckless method of learning. Having taken a couple scrolls with her, she performed Stone Bracers. Punching her hands into the earth, her chakra created bracers around her arms which could be used for protection. A simple shake of the hands was all it took to have them crumbling like dust. Channeling her chakra appropriately, Inoshi dove into the ground beneath her feet and started to 'swim'. It felt very much like swimming around in a body of water, except she had to continue expending chakra in order to remain within the ground. Known as Military Movement, this technique was very interesting. Once she was back on her own two feet and the ground was solid once again, she focused on learning her final technique, Swift Earth. Allowed one to move the earth as if a conveyor belt, along with anything on the section of ground being manipulated. Inoshi gave it a try, shifting a small boulder just a few feet away from her.

Her second elemental affinity was Fuuton. After opening its scroll, the first technique was yet another basic cloning technique. The only difference being that this clone was compromised of wind chakra, bearing the same potential as other basic cloning technique, with the exception of having the ability to attack unlike the non-elemental, basic version. After making the clone, Inoshi decided to attempt the Levitation technique on it. The small vortex of wind swirled beneath it, but it took some time before Inoshi was able to successfully lift it. In fact, she felt a small strain from doing so, but nothing too serious. Vacuum Sword was a technique that allowed one to release a gust of wind via use of weaponry. Inoshi simply grabbed a stick for training purposes, channeling wind chakra with her free hand, performing a hand seal. Upon swinging the stick, a gust of wind was expelled in an arc, harmlessly hitting the tree a few feet down. Testing out the Projectile Control technique in a way that others may have considered harmful, Inoshi picked up a few rocks. Tossing them high into the air, they sailed upward, right above her head, before succumbing to gravity and falling back down towards her. With use of the technique, she was able to divert the path of the falling rocks, preventing her from harm. Said small rocks were propelled away from her, by at least a few feet. For some reason she wanted them back in her possession, and decided to test out Retrieving Wind. Creating a gust of wind near those rocks, she was able to send them sliding, rolling, and bouncing across the ground her way.

The scrolls were promptly returned to their original location, being replaced with a couple of Genjutsu scrolls which she intended to focus on next. Having an affinity for mind related techniques due to her heritage, Inoshi discovered that learning even the simplest of techniques came quite natural to her. So much in fact, that the first two she learned, Scent of the Peculiar and Mark of the Unfamiliar were mastered nearly simultaneously. Practicing on some of the other classmates, she changed the board to read, 'Lunch Time' and filled the room with the smell of freshly cooked ramen. With most of the students gone now, she could read the scrolls in peace. Cloud Cover created a small cloud upon the ground that could be used to hide the presence of something. Without other clouds or something similar in the area, something like this might seem out of place. Perhaps in a mountainous region or areas with patchy fog is where this technique could shine. Inoshi also practiced lengthening and shortening shadows within the classroom, via Shadow Glare. Some of the students came in upset when they finally caught on to Inoshi's lunch time trick. Normally, she'd bust every single one of their asses, yet there was a technique that could prove useful here. Grabbing those drums she had early, she began to drum gently, producing a beat - a song of sorts, that calmed the students down. Psychedelic was a technique that she was pretty used to experiencing back in the day... naturally. The drugs they created produced some narly experiences which were highly sought after. In memory of old times, she enjoyed using this technique on herself for a while.

She still felt the need to mess around with the younger students here. If she was going to study, might as well make it fun, right? Static filled the ears of the students surrounding her, most of them picking at their ears in annoyance and confusion. Sounds of concerned mumbling started to raise within the classroom as the static continued, like a candy wrapper crinkling violently in both ears. Suddenly, the static would stop, only to be replaced with Inoshi speaking. "Boo." Her voice boomed like a loud and powerful thunder, the ones you'd feel in the floors and walls of your home. Only in this instance, it scared the crap out of the majority of the students. Aiming to test another technique, her mischief was targeting a student she could spot from the open window with All Directions. "Hey. You. Come over here. By the tree. No, this tree. Not that one, you dunce! This one. No... Here. You must be deaf or something, kid." Running to each of the locations, the boy peered behind the tree to find that no one was there. In sheer confusion, the student grabbed his head, looking around frantically at all of the trees she had been 'calling' him from.

Chuckling, she was surprised when the student from below heard her and started his way into the building. When he approached her, with his angry, four-foot standing, snot-nosed self, he immediately started scolding her. With the Mist Technique, she made it appear as if she created a clone to lunge at him and punch him in the face. He flinched, as expected, with the imaginary clone dispersing into flower petals. They were harmless, and not real, but with Poison Ivy, it made them... seem not so harmless. Already confused and upset, the student was now scratching his entire body as he started to itch all over. Inoshi told the boy if she apologized, she'd give him an ointment to help relieve it. He apologized profusely, the Yamanaka shaking her head and dispelling the illusion for his sake. He was starting to literally tear into his skin with his nails... After explaining to him that she was simply testing out some Genjutsu, the boy still wasn't happy. A piece of candy was given to him as a peace offering, and the moment he consumed it, a grin flashed across the woman's face. He appeared uncomfortable, and stated he was feeling hungrier. Despite having eaten lunch just moments before he was outside, he felt like he hadn't eaten all day. Inoshi gave him another piece of candy, which he ate and thanked her for, before suddenly leaving. She peered out the door of the classroom to see him guzzling water from the fountain without even taking a break for fresh air! It was funny to say the least. However, one couldn't drink that much water without consequences.

Walking over to the boy, she gently pulled him away from the fountain, triggering the Urine technique. All of a sudden, he wasn't so thirsty. His eyes growing big and wide with the sudden realization that he had to use the restroom. Bolting down the hall, he dove through the doors leading the the boy's restroom and went about his business. Inoshi casually strolled toward the doors -- no, she wasn't going to enter. As she walked past whistling carelessly, a sudden loud and obnoxious farting noise expelled from the bathroom. Bursts of laughter rang within, followed by comments such as: 'It wasn't me!' 'THE SIGN OF A TRUE FUUTON MASTER RIGHT THERE.' 'Might need to check for some Doton chunks...' Chuckling, the woman walked back to the class after priming the outside of the door with a Thunder Trap. Counting down in her head, by the time she arrived at the doors, a loud thunder boomed throughout the entire building. She placed another seal at the entrance as she went to her area of studying. 'I know it was that girl... she's been messing with me all day!' Inoshi could hear him grumbling as he neared the door, no doubt ready to give her an earful. It was too bad that when he arrived, he ended up slipping and falling by some mysterious patch of mud. Her chuckling was cut short by the boy yelling at her as he rose to his feet. 'Do you think this is funny!? I am not your-... Ah!' He blinked several times, before trying to continue his rant once again only to be distracted further by irritation in his eye. Annoying Dust shut him up for a little while, until he rubbed his eye free of the genjutsu.

That was enough chaos for the day. Inoshi was interested in trying out one of the techniques passed down from her mother's side of the family. Apparently they had the ability to communicate telepathically. Her mother drilled her endlessly on the Yamanaka history and their techniques... what else was there to do when she could barely get out of the house? Upon finding a willing participant, a little girl who was quite suspicious of Inoshi actually having such an ability, she simple tapped the girl's forehead. As soon as the child became aware that she was being spoken to from within her mind, she was completely surprised. She began communicating back to Inoshi, and was enjoying the private little conversation they were able to have while surrounded by other people. The girl asked a bunch of questions, including why she was so 'old'... After answering the questions she had been bombarded with, the Yamanaka ended the communication link and thanked the girl for helping her test the technique out. See? Inoshi can be nice when she wants to. Not that she can't be a total b***h, either, but there are reasons for that.

Once again, Inoshi found herself in the Academy. After learning fifty-three ninja techniques and nine formless styles, she'd soon notice that there wasn't much left for her to do. Heading inside the building, she entered one of the testing rooms and sat at a desk, hands interlaced beneath her chin as she glanced at the board ahead of her. Tests had a way of affecting the nerves of many students, however, Inoshi was looking forward to it. To pass the exam meant taking the next big step of her journey, something that would - hopefully - be more fulfilling than walking around a school with a bunch of twelve year olds. The process was still appreciated. She learned much more than just the techniques she studied: some of her strengths, her weaknesses, "gifts" as some would call them, that might prove useful in whatever endeavors laid ahead. Inoshi was interested in exploring them even more in the future. It was the start of her new life, and that alone was pretty exciting.

Why was it always like this?

Why am I always weak?

Will I ever be enough?

These questions played on repeat in Michio's head as he landed on the ground, a dull thud the only noise coming from him. He had just reached the end of a sparring session with one of his classmates in the academy--an up-and-coming talent by the name of Charvalla. The ending, of course, was his resounding defeat. What little he'd been passed down in regards to shinobi teachings was not sufficient against someone with a much more solid education. A solid education, and...that. The true, unshakable difference between them; the barrier he could never cross.

That was, of course, her Kekkei Genkai. In the heat of their spar, she had activated what she could of Mokuton and taken the unsuspecting Michio by surprise. Given that her main repertoire of attacks was sent by water, he was not expecting the attack from below and succumbed. A brief flurry of Taijutsu after his entrapment was enough to seal the deal, landing him on the ground.

Michio gripped the dirt in his fist as he slowly came back around, staggering to his feet and looking at Charvalla with a burning look in his eyes. It was parts resignation, jealousy, aggression...maybe a hint of spite? Instead of saying anything, he merely waited for the instructor to ask them to make the 'unity' sign to mark the end of their spar.

"You're moving well, at least!" Charvalla commented encouragingly as she giggled a bit to herself, sliding out of the stance so close to that of a dancer it was hard to tell the difference. She whipped her head to the side, clearing the long, curled and wavy hair over her shoulder in a practiced motion that brought to mind the image of water washing over a stalagmite jutting out of the water. Bare feet patted against the floor of the academy as she hurried over to offer a hand to help her defeated friend up and off of the ground. She denied her own nature, decidedly not adding on her thoughts. "Decently for a paylangi anyway." Her smile was genuine even as the small vines she had imbibed from the ground relinquished his ankle. It was quite the simple thing, just like manipulating earth or water for her. To call upon the world and awaken it to do her will was second nature. Some would call it talent, but she thought of it more as... birthright. And besides, at that point everyone had talent. Did everyone not have the Mother's gift of chakra inside of them?

The dark skinned woman had up on him that he didn't have a kekkei genkai, but at their level the advantage was minor in her head. She'd grown up without it and beaten up the children of the warriors back home... well until actual training put them ahead of her in most ways. Her tongue flickered out, washing over her lips as she waited to see if her ally would take the hand and rise from the ground below like he always did. Michio was competitive, he was ornery and quick to try and prove himself but those traits were positive in her own mind. They were things to hold on to. Stubborn rocks were the very foundation of islands after all...

...even if they eventually did turn to sand.

Kimi walks back into the academy.. He could see many students outside practicing.. That is good.. Kimi loves seeing good things and children learning is always a good thing.. Kimi finds his own little corner and begins training.. He has seen this jutsu before,, and he remembers the hand seals for it as well.. He tries the jutsu.. Mist starts to form around him encompassing the area..

Kimi spends a long time in the mist.. He can't see a thing but that did not deter him in anyway.. Soon,, Kimi's vision becomes more and more clear.. He continues in his training by trying to make a sword of water.. There are quite a few jutsu that Kimi is maintaining,, and it's very hard for him to maintain,, but soon after several failed tries,, Kimi is able to make the sword,, the mist,, and even see in the mist..

Good job!! Now for you my love.. Aero!! Guide my heart!!

So carefree, she was...of course, with that power of hers, she had all the time and luxury in the world to be carefree. The look in his eyes barely wavered as she extended her hand to him. If there was one thing that HAD been passed down from one generation to the next, it was the observance of customs, and a strong sense of duty. That's why, despite his reservations, Michio took Charvalla's hand and accepted her assistance in standing up. Without uttering a word, the young man turned and took a few steps away, preparing himself for the 'unity' symbol. Admittedly, this was far from their first spar, and in the same line, far from his first loss. Since the beginning of his days in the academy, he had only won a single spar, and that was against a student who had willingly handicapped himself in an attempt to bolster Michio's confidence. This idea was presented in secret to the instructor, but the loud mouth of one of their fellow students had brought the discrepancy to light.

It was those sorts of thoughts that pooled in his head now. Ones of jealousy and reservation, boiling together until they reached a breaking point. In that same moment as he turned to face Charvalla again, he spoke; "It must be nice. Having all of that natural talent and power. To surpass weaklings like me without barely having to lift a finger." He prepared his left hand to make the unity sign, obeying the structure despite his anguish. "You'll never understand what it's like to be weak. None of you will. You're too gifted for that." From there, Michio merely allowed that thought to hang in the air, waiting patiently for further instruction.

Charvalla was more than just a little bit surprised that Michio took her hand even though his face remained in that permanent, impossible to not hate scowl of his. He really did hold so much against her... and for literally nothing that was either her fault, nor something that mattered. By the dredge line, if anyone could find a reason to not own their own shortcomings, it was Michio. But still, her smile and serene grace held fast as she helped him back to his feet, unawares of the cogs turning in his head in truth. Him walking away from her wordlessly made her huff a bit, blowing a few stray strands of hair out of her face as she somewhat dejectedly watched him. He turned to face her, and the very first thing that came out of his mouth was something that struck her as stupid.

"Michii," she admonished making the unity symbol, and then crossing her arms defiantly. "I won't know what it's like to be weak because I work hard, and don't make pitiful excuses. Don't insult me by asserting that I only won because of natural talent, paylangi, I won because I have the will. That's all. Do better," she huffed at him, cheeks turning just a tad rosy, nostrils flared a little in a comical show of indignance.

                                                        tab
Lahlil made her way up the wooden steps. She wanted to be a little upset at the mistreatment of getting a desk job but considering all the wildn wars with crazy sage monsters? Maybe a nice relaxing seat at a desk would really help keep her mind clear. God only knows she had enough to deal with after that copy.. girl.. whatever she was.

Taking a step into the office Lahlil took a seat in the room's only wooden chair. It didn't look very comfortable but then again nothing int he room did. Before her were official looking documents and a stamp, her job was to search through the different applicants and decided whether or not their request to learn higher level techniques was legitimate. [1] Pulling out the chair Lahlil took a seat and delicately began her review. Just from the sheer number of stacks she could tell this wa going to take a long time. Hopefully she would be able to burn through these quick and get home. Oh the thought sweet thought of bed filled her mind and already her body ached for it. [2] The first document was a quick summary of a village Jounin she had actually remember seeing during her academy years. It was interesting to see how far he ha made it already. Lahlil hoped that she would be able to make it to his level someday. [3] The application in question was a quick summary of the man's history and outlined why he believed he needed to learn higher level jutsu. In particular he wanted to access the S+ category. Lahlil had always wondered why these jutsu were even restricted in the first place. I mean they were indeed destructive but the S ranked were for the most part open to the public and those were pretty powerful? S+ must be on a whole new level. [4] Even if Lahlil had never seen an S+ ranked jutsu if the regulations were any indication then she would have to deny this man's application. He wasn't even close to mastering the level of physical and mental strength needed to preform the jutsu and likely pursuing it would end up killing him. [5] With a sad face Lahlil pressed the denial stamp down onto the cold paper and pulled another one off the stack. Sorry it's my job.. The next application was one of the new genin wanting to learn the next rank in B ranked jutsu. Unlike the last applicant he was neither going on a mission or preforming any dangerous work that would require or warrant it's learning. [6] Lahlil sighed to herself. She had been there before wanting so desperately to jump into the nex level of jutsu and make herself as strong as she possibly could. It seems that she would be destined to crush everyone's dreams so far. [7] Hitting the paper with the denial stamp Lahlil put it gently to the side with the other and made sure that the corners lined up with each other. Taking the next paper off of the stack he noticed this one had been crumbled, fixed, and then crumpled again. bits of it were torn off and the words were written in a hasty hand. At first she thought that whoever wrote it cared very little for the response. [8] The words told a different story however, it was plain to see that the writer had very little confidence in themselves. More than likely they had trouble submitting it out of fear of rejection. Taking a quick glance around her Lahlil quickly stamped the approval stamp on the paper without much more of a look over. Something in her just called to her and she could help but want to help her. [9] Putting the paper into it's own separate pile Lahlil hoped deep down that she wouldn't get in trouble for it later. Moving onto the next paper with a bit more plump in her stump Lahlil reviewed it's contents. A little more of an interesting case of an old man wanting to learn some A ranked jutsu? [10] To be honest she was a bit surprised that someone so old could be still be a genin especially if he is wanting to learn A ranked, surely he must have plenty of experience and missions under his belt. Taking the approval stamp Lahlil approved without much more scrutiny. [11] Whoever the man was he was probably more qualified than Lahlil was and she knew plenty of A ranked jutsu. Placing the paper in her rapidly growing approval pile Lahlil took the next one off of the stacked looked it over. Apparently it was a former shinobi who left for a more civilian life. Requesting scrolls be sent from the academy to him so he could use earth jutsu to help his construction business. [12] Looking through his history the man seemed fairly well put together, only having left his squad because of mental trauma. Lahlil easily approved him. The jutsu in question that he wanted to learn was a pittance anyway and most likely only refused to him in the first place because he was no longer a shinobi. [13] Taking the next application off of the stack Lahlil started to feel excited now that she was half way done. The next one was more of a third party application, a teacher wanting to take out a whole section of maruton ninjutsu in order to teach his squad. The teacher was one of the local Jounin and as such earned his approval stamp. [14] Taking the pile of papers and tapping them on the table to set them neat Lahlil moved onto the next, another requesting the use of S+ ranked jutsu. This one even more brash than the first as he was just a genin! [15] What did he think that he would just slip y and gain access? Squinting at the paper in her hand Lahlil hunted for his reasoning box. 'Because I'm going to be the STERGITH.' Well not today you aren't you sassy monkey.[16] Honestly he state of the current genin worried her a little bit assuming they were all like this one. Was she that eager to prove herself when she was that young? A giggle escaped from her. The work that her mentor must have had to suffer just because of her. She would have to visit Caine again sometime she missed him dearly. [17] The next paper off the stack was from a much more distinguished applicant. One of the guardians of the ruler of the land of eddies requesting a caravan be sent from the village carrying a S ranked jutsu. A special case Lahlil would need to fill out forms for. [18] Since it was leaving the village afterall she was actually only allowed to do so under specail circumstances. Filling out a few side forms Lahlil sent for it to make it onto the Kage's desk as she would need to review and decide who would be carrying out the mission to take it there. [19] Once it was sent and on it's way Lahlil made sure to hurry back to work. Pulling the next application of the list Lahlil gave it the once over. Nothing really interesting as the others unfortunately. Just a Jounin seeking the ability of an S+ ranked jutsu. This time at least Jounin had plenty of experience so she didn't feel too bad granting access. [20] With that the first S+ supplicate as approved and Lahlil let out a sigh. She never had any idea how hard, or rather how boring this job was. A small part of her wanted to just go outside and do something more productive. [21] No matter how felt however Lahlil knew that this was an essential part of the village production. Pulling the next sheet off he stack lazily Lahlil looked over an application from a medical nurse wanting to learn the next level of jutsu. [22] Doctors were the only other type of citizens that could learn jutsu without technically having to also be a shinobi. Lahlil approved the paper easy sent it on it's way as it was a rush order. Hopefully there wasn't someone who needed it for an operation. [23] To be honest she was surprised that the medical jutsu just wasn't kept in the hospital in the fist place. She would have to remember that recommendation for the Kage later. it seemed out of date and surely it slows down the whole process as well. [24] Taking her stack of papers Lahlil happily put the last one on top of the lists and looked it over. A bit of a breach in protocol the supplicate wanted to take a large section jutsu outside of the village but requested that no caravan assist him. Stamping a pending on the paper Lahlil sent it on it's own separate way to the Anbu to preform an investigation on the man under suspicion of stealing from the academy. It was unlikely since the jutsu didn't go above B ranked but his choice in words put it out of her jurisdiction, plus she would hate to say yes and have it be a mistake later on for the hunter nin to correct.

Finished with her work Lahlil hopped out of the office building with her papers in hand on her way to give them to correct officials.

[IDK what happened to the images so I'm going to try and fix tomorrow when I get off work LMAO]

She won because she had the will? And when was it okay for her to have a nickname for him?

Thoughts were again pooling in Michio's head, beginning to manifest into words.
He opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by their instructor. "The spar is finished, Charvalla is the victor. End the ceremony." That was their cue, to make the 'Unity' sign together. Seeing that their earlier conversation had evidently come to a close, Michio simply internalized his sulking and formed the 'Unity' sign using his left hand. Though his mouth was silent, his eyes still spoke plenty as they glared at Charvalla with unsubtle intensity. One day he WOULD defeat her. There was no doubt in his mind about that.

He had no idea what she meant by 'Paylangi', but she would eat those words sooner rather than later. All this time he spent in the academy, racing forward to catch the heels of those who were so far ahead of him...it would not be for waste. Without parents to jumpstart his education in the way of the Shinobi...without a village who cared enough to support him due to his lack of assets, he'd been crippled from the start. Every bit of what he had was made with his own mind and his own two hands. To see those with such talent and such an upbringing address their difference as solely the individual was infuriating, to say the least. How could she not see the difference? It was clear as day, right in front of her eyes. She was regarded as beautiful, talented, and so...special.

He was a disgrace, a child that needed an adult to guide him. Everywhere he went he was regarded with this feeling of obligation. As though it was a chore to be sociable with the pariah. How could she not see that?

Char couldn't hear his thoughts, but Michio never needed any sort of words to convey his dreary thoughts. She sighed, deeply as she mirrored the Unity seal, clear in her face that she'd probably had enough of Michio for the day. She wondered, entirely inwardly, if part of the reason people shy'd away from him was because of the way he acted and carried himself. Truly, trying to be his friend was so goddamned exhausting, and the prospect of having to be on a team with him... covering his self imposed weaknesses... it jarred her to her core. What had become of the proud people in the land of Whirlpools? The stories painted strong monster hunters living in mountains feeding off of their triumphs. So far, she'd seen such... complacency... so many who would simply whine instead of doing better. Where she was concerned, this was an affront to the Mother's Embrace.

No wonder the sea beasts had stirred up, endbringers who would force these mainland Paylangi to snatch up the world once more. Charvalla knew only proud people who would know no weakness, no excuse for their shortcomings and losses. How she missed her people... even the VORTEX agents and temple guardians could only relate to a fault: they didn't descend from the mighty wayfinders. The names Ten'meva and Vasago didn't ring in their souls, in the inner canals of their ears. They were strong, of this no doubts existed... but they didn't wake the world like her people could.

All of them were Paylangi: those who do not worship.

A harsh and perhaps fellacious view, sure, but either way these people had diverged so far in their faith. How had a former death seeker been allowed to become Truth Bearer anyway? Where had the Great Toad gone? Charvalla had more questions than answers, and that very deeply bothered her too.

Where Michio was concerned however, Charvalla merely turned to her instructor. "Sensei. Can we work on the basic ninjutsu? I feel like a refresher could be pretty useful." She stretched her arms and body skyward, popping her spinal cord and arm joints, choosing not to dwell on her feelings of isolation and differences. She even let go of the animosity she had towards Michio, for the most part. "Michio, wanna join in?" She asked, through the fact that she wanted to say something snappy, and turned to the instructor, who rubbed at his chin, going over a scroll. "I suppose we could segue into ninjutsu training. Charvalla, I would like for you to begin studies on the ninjutsu in the suiton listing. Michio, Doton. Once you've made it through all of the basics we can move on, but don't worry if you take the rest of the day on it. Ninjutsu tends to be hard on new students for quite a while."

With that, Charvalla didn't even look in Michio's direction, and the teacher himself didn't mean anything by it. But by the time he'd finished his statement, Valla knew he was gonna take it to heart. Maybe it'd motivate him.

Niko Hatake: Niko... Uchiha?! The Mysterious Red Eye!

Mood: Hisashi's Fire

When Niko, Hisashi, and the unnamed bird entered the academy, it was right to business. Niko walked Hisashi over to the training field and pulled out a scroll. "Okay Hisashi, time to learn. Are you ready?" Hisashi nodded the best he could. He wasn't really in the mood to train but he had no choice. Niko sighed. "Will you do it for steak?" Niko's offer hyped him up. His tail wagging raring to go.

They started with katon techniques. The scroll contained four techniques with a few of them being more advanced than some. Niko decided to start with the fireball. Niko showed Hisashi based on the scroll, how to mold his chakra using his tail. He would wag it in the same way a ninja would form hand seals. Soon after he was able to spew minor sparks. They would spend the next hour there before Hisashi was finally able to get up the fireball. Though it was weak, Hisashi got it for the most part. They would review later, but it was time to move on.

The next technique was the dragon fireball. The upgrade in Niko's eyes, she would show Hisashi the scroll. It was up to him to get it. Hisashi thought dragon. Dragon. Dragon, dragon, dragon. Dragon. Then, Hisashi wagged his tail. He wagged the mess out of that tail. And then as if a miracle, on the first try, Hisashi learned the jutsu. Niko and the hawk were amazed. "GOOD BOY HISASHI! You know what Hisashi? You gets all the steak tonight!" "All the steak?" "All the steak." As Niko rubbed Hisashi, she pulled out the scroll and showed him another technique. Hisashi stood up and started wagging his tail happily as Niko activated the man beast clone. "YEAH BABY!"

"Okay! Stand back! It's time for Hisashi's... STEAK ROASTER BABY JUTSU!" The sword caught fire in Hisashi's hand as he swung it around with Niko's style of katana play. Niko and the hawk were again stunned. Hisashi was coming along so far and so fast, it was scary. Ryota really knew his scroll choices well. Without him, she'd be lost right now.

"THE PERFECT CUT OF STEAK BABY JUTSU!" The slash had fire running through it and seemed ridiculous in terms of a technique. Still Hisashi learned it. There was still much for him to learn, but they were on a time limit, and Niko still had some things she had to learn herself. She wanted to get them in now when she could before the next crazy event took place. You know this crazy shinobi world.

Niko Hatake: Niko... Uchiha?! The Mysterious Red Eye!

Mood: Mad Skillz

Niko decided to go over the basics next. She went over the Hidden mist technique. She created the hand seal and made the area around her covered in mist. It had been a while since she used this jutsu so it's effects were pretty poor, plus she couldn't see. She would try again.

This time she was able to get it properly. She then spent time in the mist getting accustomed to it. She made a shadow clone and sparred with it starting with regular punches and kicks. Soon after, she beat the clone and gain knowledge of it's vision plus her own. Then, she made another shadow clone. This time the drew weapons and sparred. Niko herself walked out with minor cuts, but she was fine for the most part. The good thing was she could see perfectly in the mist again.

Niko then pulled out another scroll that Ryota had given her. It contained various water techniques. There was one that intrigued her however. It was similar to her Dragon Bolt. It fired off multiple serpent like water streams. What was cool to her was the fact they home in on her target. It was a good way to stay on the target and keep pressure up. Niko practiced the jutsu a couple of times before truly getting it.
