“Oh, in but of course….in due time. First, there must be made recompense for the damage that you have done to me and my proxies.” One of the men that had previously been knocked down now rose to his feet and gave a swift kick to the back of Eve’s knee, forcing her to kneel upon the ground. Another moved around her and collected her weapons, stowing them far out of her reach.
“Now then, what do you think is a suitable punishment for the wrongs that you have dealt me?” The man asked, his tone dripping with sardonic ire.

Eve fell to the ground, her knees slamming into the cold earth.
The young girl stared at the ground as the man removed her weapons.
"I think that pking me would be a fair punishment.. but only after you honor your part of the deal and let her go."

“So, the little lamb is willing to sacrifice her own life in order to save those of complete strangers? How noble. But I wonder, where is it that this bravery and selflessness comes from?”

Eve looked up, matching the mans gaze and offered him a small smile.
"It isn't bravery or selflessness. I am a killer too and I would rather you kill me then an innocent player. It is as simple as that."

“I see, and what cause do I have to let these poor, weak fools live again?” The tone in his voice turned to ice, and he pressed the sword tighter against her throat.

Eve let a cold smile cross her lips.
"Well that is simple. Because she is the only thing keeping you all alive. I have no issue killing you and the rest of your deplorable little gang if she isn't around anymore. Her life matters to me, yours doesn't."

The man smiled and let out a boisterous laugh.
“Is that a fact, little girl? And just how do you think that you’d kill me? You are surrounded on all sides, you have no weapon, and if you so much as twitch I’ll kill this girl and you. So tell me, how is it that you are going to stop me again?”

"A better question is, do you believe that these few people can stop me before I get my weapons back? I am not telling you what to do, simply pointing out scenarios." Eve's voice was surprisingly respectful as she spoke to the man.

The man smiled and again allowed a quick laugh to escape.
“My dear, your confidence is endearing, though misplaced. There is no way that you would be able to get to your weapons and defeat me before I kill this girl. So, while I do relish hearing your grandiose bragging, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to stop.” Another thug walked up to Eve and drew a sword high above his head. “I’m afraid that it’s time for you to die now. We’ll take good care of these poor weaklings once you are out of the way. I assure you.”
The sword plunged downwards towards Eve. Before she even had time to react, an arrow sailed through the air and slammed into her attackers hands. It pulled him off balance and pinned his hands to a nearby tree.
The man who held the sword to the young girls neck looked over at the sudden attack in shock. His brow furrowed angrily and he began to draw the sword across her neck.

Eve leapt forward, activating her quick change skill to load another dagger in her right hand. The blade glowed a brilliant blue as she vanished into the mist, reappearing behind the man holding the young girl at knife point and unleashing 4 rapid slashes as her knife skill resolved on her target.

In almost the same instant that Eve stabbed the man in the back, a second arrow flew forward, striking the blade on end and forcing it away from the young girl’s throat. The man screamed in pain and lurched forward, losing hold of the girl, and stumbling away from his attacker.
To Eve’s surprise, he survived the attack and managed to turn to face her once more. His eyes darted between looking at Eve and scanning the surrounding area to see where the Arrows had been coming from.
“Well, well, aren’t you a clever girl.” He choked in pain as he raised his sword once again, ready to attack or defend at a moment’s notice. “I guess I should have expected that you wouldn’t have come alone.” The area around him was fairly open, save for a few trees that were scattered here and there across the landscape. If the archer was nearby, he had to be either extremely well concealed, or at a greater distance than could be easily observed. The group of still unconscious players still lay mere feet from him, and Eve saw the moment of connection in his eye as his gaze traced momentarily over them. It was clear that the PK knew he was going to die, and that was a bad thing; that made him desperate.
“Well, I guess you can’t expect to win every confrontation…” Drawing his sword up into a jabbing stance, he lunged forward toward the closest player to him. “C’est la vie.”

Eve leapt forward, placing herself between the mans sword and the unconscious player. She lashed out at the mans torso, throwing caution to the wind as she focused on her speed to outmatch his attack.
"Don't you even think about it." She muttered to herself.

The blade pierced into the man’s abdomen, draining his health points to single digits. Still, his blade continued on towards Eve. What she boasted in speed, she lost in attack. With her flurry of attacks, she could easily out damage someone with a larger weapon, but her weakness came in the form of single attacks. As the blade carved through his flesh, he grimaced in pain, but it seemed to only increase the ferocity of his attack. The blade came faster, accompanied by his enraged scream.
“You little bi…” Before he was able to finish his statement, another arrow struck him directly in the side of his face. His head lurched under the impact and his body twisted and flew away from Eve. Before it even had the chance to land on the ground, it shattered into a thousand shards of light.
“Bad form to curse in front of a lady, buddy.” All eyes shifted to a tall man who no stepped into the clearing. Bat like wings faded away as Kaiyaga walked towards Eve. “You alright, kiddo?”

Eve's eyes widened in shock, her mouth hanging open as she watched kaiyaga casually approached them.
"I..yeah, I am fine." Eve's tone was soft, almost inaudible as she spoke before turning back to the group of players behind her.
"Are you all alright?" Her tone was concerned and her voice louder then her prior statement.

Those that were still conscious nodded, having already assessed their fallen comrades.
“Yeah, we’re all okay, thanks to you two. Who…who are you?” They were clearly shaken, but all of them were still alive, and though they were low on health, they had managed to survive.
