The Machine [Open/Accepting]

"My name is David, and I was just having a pleasant chat with her before you came over. Now it seems that she'll need medical attention" Damien said. From what he heard it seemed that he would need to have this man interrogated for information as well as Shadow, as it seems she knows something about what's going on. Well this night turned out to be full of good things after all.

Mikhael grabbed a gun or two, from where they were being kept, and pulled out some tools, tweaking them a bit. he needed something to keep him occupied until he was needed, and fixing up guns was his specialty. it even relaxed him a bit. He rolled his eyes, hearing faintly the announcement over Dustin and the prince's conversation. if you could call it that. he muttered to himself, "Patriotic moment... he can take his Patriotic Movement and shove it up his arse..." there was a bit of anger in his voice, rather than the usual sarcasm that would accompany the statement. Nevertheless, he continued playing around with the guns.

One of the bouncers picked up Shadow and proceeded to carry her out of the room discretely. Shadow said nothing, slowly reaching back towards 'David' but obviously holding onto what strength she could.

"Well, David, I regret to inform you that the woman you were speaking to is a very, very dangerous person who should be eradicated as soon as possible. You see, she is an information merchant, and a damn good one at that. Diethelm spies, Helmshire and Rebel hide outs, secrets among the upper class... if she doesn't know it herself, she knows someone who does. Rumors say she's the Absolute Leader and the King of Helmshire's personal communication agent, and that this whole war was secretly planned out through her. Of course, that's just a silly rumor. But, what I do know is that you could find out more from her then if you drugged the head of the secret police and managed to get her to talk." He said.

By that point, Shadow had already been carried out the room to the elevator. As the bouncer carried her on, she kicked him in the gut and awkwardly pushed him out just as the elevator was closing. She pushed the '2' button, praying to the heavens that they hadn't set up a separate trap for her. She then pulled out her communicator. "Guys, we've been betrayed, and I'm drugged. I don't know if I will last, but I'll try to get out." She said, not bothering to use code.

Jian, focusing more on Damien then Shadow, signaled the secret police to move. "Monica, get your gun ready. Both of them are concealing guns."

"I see. You seem very brave telling me all this. For all you know I could be working for the government as an undercover officer. I'm sure our Gracious Absolute Leader will be happy to hear all the information you have to offer" Damien said. He then ordered a wine. "Please get it right this time and don't put any stupid s**t in it" he said to the bartender.


An announcement was made for everyone to stand for the Patriotic Moment. It started off with the national anthem Fields of Diethelm as it always did.

The patriotic moment started just as soon as the elevator opened. Shadow walked onto the empty second floor. Everyone was in rooms, stopping to obey the laws set by the absolute leader. Shadow used the opportunity to take an escape route and head to the parking lot. She staggered to her bike and sat down, putting on her helmet and waiting to recover from the drugs.

The man grit his teeth just as the patriotic moment started as everyone in the room obeyed the custom.

"Hey you! Where do you think you're going?!" a military police officer shouted at Shadow. He had been on patrol around there at that time.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm pausing for patriotic moment, as should you." She replied, sitting on her bike, and began singing along with the songs as she heard them, while reaching for her dagger, just in case. As she sat there singing, blood started to drip down from her forehead down the side of her face and down her chin to her shirt. From what the officer could see, it looked like her neck was bleeding from behind the helmet like something in a horror movie.

"I have special permission to be on patrol during the Patriotic Moment" the officer said. He then noticed the blood and radioed for medical aid.

"You don't have to do that officer. I'm fine, really." She said sweetly, hoping the patriotic moment would end before things got even worse for her. 'Maybe it isn't such a bad idea to let them patch me up. I am a Diethelm citizen, even though I can't stand this place...'

"I'll need to see your citizenship pass and identification" the officer ordered while walking over to Shadow. Refusing to show proper identification or failure to produce the documents was illegal and a serious offense.

Mikhael smirked as he could hear the songs being played. he continued to remain 'seated,' but sang along, faintly, with a snarky grin on his face, replacing the words with some... well... vulgar alternatives, completely bashing the Diethelm empire. little things like that kept him from being angry ALL the time.

"Sure." She said, pulling out her identification papers that she kept in a small leather clasp. "Careful. The last officer dropped my papers by accident, so theirs a weird brown spot on it." She warned. "I've been trying to get a new clean copy, but it's so hard with the tight security. I guess I shouldn't complain when it keeps my identity from being stolen." She told him.

The officer took the identification and citizenship pass to verify if they were real. They were, so he handed them back. "I want you to stay here until a medical unit arrives" he said. When a Diethelmian soldier orders something, the citizen better obey or there will be harsh consequences. The Diethelmian soldiers regularly abuse this authority.

Monica had keen eyes as usual. She watched Damien while the people around him were in shooting range but when they left, she was humming along to the patriotic songs and she put her guard down a bit, not caring about it for the moment. She focused more on knowing the absolute leader was safe. When the patriotic moment was over, she chuckled, "You know, Ji, one time, I did get jealous when they included songs about you. I had the secret police compose songs for me like little children and had them sing it on my birthday. Just one of those silly moments." She then hurried over to Damien when his company left. "Are you hurt?" she said in her normal voice.
