Aleron nodded. "Wonderful, thank you Mio." he said, starting to walk backwards, but froze at his question. He pulled at his collar a bit, looking to the side as his hand rose to his blood. "...I won't know until I do more research...but...from a logical point-of-view, no. Biting is a horrid way to transfer infection. Hell, if I had to guess, I'd say this was spread through the food and water." he said, to assure them both. Though he seemed to turn a little pale at Miya's comment. "Uh...sure, not a problem at all!" he said cheerfully. "You just let me know and I'll come right on in for the check-up! Well, let me know if you find anything Mio!" he said, walking out. If Mio was observant enough, he could likely see that Aleron was close to panic.

It took a while, and she did a quick double-check to make sure, but Miya couldn't find any alarming marks on Sonja. A sigh of relief could be heard over the comm. link as she let out the breath she'd been holding for a while. With a quick flash of the disinfectant light on the survivor's newly cauterized wound, everything was set for now. "This is Miya with status update on the survivor: no visible bite or scratch marks. As far as I can tell, she's uninfected and should be fine with enough time and fluids," she said to anyone listening, the faintest trace of relief in her voice.
Packing up her Med-kit, the silver-haired half-elf went over to a patient table/bed on the other side of the room near the entry-way and set the bag down at the foot. "Okay Aleron, come in when you're ready." Her voice was more calm than it likely should have been, just trying to ease his nerves a bit.

"Um...r-right.." he said, very quietly. He walked in slowly, most of his head covered in blood, only his face mostly clean aside from a few minor cuts. Mace barked a few times, turning in circles a few times at his entrance and injuries, worried. Aleron smiled a bit as he removed his visor device entirely, sitting on the table. "Honestly, for bites to spread it is just illogical." he started, quiet but understandable via com-link. He was mainly trying to assure himself.
"For it to infect this entire station, it has to be more then just a bite...The successful diseases have some really clever way to invisibly spread from victim to victim. The flu has killed tens of millions because it floats right through the air, the black plague was spread by fleas, rats, and such... Not a single one of them requires the infected to get within biting distance to spread their infection. I mean, sure, sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS work that way, but that's only because the infected can pass for the uninfected. Nobody is going to be having sex with an infected..!" he ranted, likely getting close to panicing a bit.
There were a few injuries for sure. Around his face were cuts, but from the visor being pressed hard onto his face. Otherwise, there were 4 deep gashes on his head; 1 by his temple, one on the top of his head, another by his cheek, and the 4th on his forehead. Where it got it's teeth in him.

"Good," Aurora replies back to Miya when she reports on the status of the survivor. "But keep her isolated, just in case."

Miya took a deep breath as Aleron walked in, calming her nerves. With him this close, her sixth sense could tell that he was perfectly healthy aside from cuts and gashes. "Yeah, biting does seem a little illogical for method of spreading. After all, getting that close is just plain dangerous for whatever it is that's trying to spread the disease," she replied to his thoughts quietly and calmly to distract him while she got out her gauze, disinfectant light, liquid disinfectant, scissors, medical tape, and painkillers.
She cut off a length of gauze to use for cleaning up the blood, then folded it into a soft, absorbent pad which was then dampened with disinfectant. "This might sting a bit," she warned as she started wiping off the blood. "Think you could tell me what happened when you got hurt? I wasn't there, but the more I know about the situation, the better." For now, she was just trying to clean him up. Any further treatment would wait until she knew what had happened and which wounds might or might not be serious.
Hearing the Captain, she made an affirmative noise. Isolation was the key to keeping everyone safe, which was why she'd had Aleron stay as far from Sonja as possible.

"Uh, sure thing," Mio replied to Aleron, ears flicking back a bit as he turns back to the board. Things definitely weren't good if Aleron seemed that close to panicking.
The diagnostic was almost complete though, and the lab checked out fine. "The lab's fine, nothing damaged there," he tells Aleron over the comm channel, "Oh, and I'm fixing the comm so that it's not stuck open as of now, too."
With that done, he waits for the diagnostic to finish and sets up a priority on repairs while bringing up the sensors to get a better look at the station.

Aleron watched her. "I mean, let's say there is an outbreak, like if one infected was able to bite 30 people in the group at some demonstration in the conference room before they figured out it wasn't part of the drill. It's not like mankind is just utterly confused about what to do when an infection breaks out. There's even organizations around like the Center for Disease Control who don't tend to ******** around. Seriously, it's on their business cards.!" he said, wincing as she worked a bit. He only nodded to Mio's report.
"And the SARS outbreak? That originated in a smaller area. The CDC and the Galaxy Health Organization put the clamps down on international/interstellar travel the second it was found to have spread to a northern region. Flights were grounded, travel between borders was locked tight and only 43 people on the entire continent died!!" he continued, though didn't seem to hear her question. He was looking around as he explained, deff. starting to panic a bit. "With that sort of infection, they don't even have to solve the mystery about how it's transmitted! It's that guy biting people!!! Shoot him in the head!!!" he said, his voice rather loud at this point.

"Aleron!" she said sharply, though not really raising her voice too much, trying to get his attention. "Listen to me. I need to know about what happened when you got hurt. Can you remember what happened?" she asked, voice more calming and mellow. She'd gotten his blood cleaned up and flashed her disinfectant light on his injuries. The little cuts didn't look too worrying, so she worked on taping some moist disinfected gauze pads to them while waiting for him to answer.

He sighed and shook his head. "Of course I remember what happened. I don't think I'll be able to ever forget. And to be sure, my visor has cameras." he said, hitting a few buttons as the visor-part opened up as if he were wearing it. "Put it on, I'll hit play. You can see it from my view. Basically we went to the body, a tendril with a face blew out of it's skull, and it tried to rip off my face and eat my skull." he said, sounding none-too-pleased with almost being a meal.

Miya gulped at his description, slowly shaking her head. "That...won't be necessary..." she replied a tad nervously to his 'movie' suggestion. "I think I've got a pretty good idea of what happened." If it had attacked his face, it looked like his helmet probably would have protected him from any bites...probably. "Well, since we have no real idea what we're dealing with, I'll just patch you up."
She finished cleaning his larger wounds the same way as the smaller ones with disinfected make-shift gauze band-aids, setting her supplies on the table when she was done. "If those cuts hurt, I have some mild pain-killers that won't make you drowsy or anything. And...I have a request that I'm fairly sure you won't like... I would like for you to stay here for the standard 24 hour observational period, or at least a few hours given the circumstances, just to make sure you weren't infected, as illogical as infection-by-bite might be."

Aleron stood. "Did you just say 24-Absolutely not! I have RESEARCH to undergo! There are 2 full-body specimens that, for all I know, liquefy after death! Aside from that I've multiple vial-samples of material I need to take to my lap immediately to ensure no type of contamination! This research is of dire importance! It could very well save our lives! What if this infection is air-born?? That would mean we're all infected." He stated darkly, putting his visor device around his neck again. "Would you rather wait and find out by sitting here poking at me, or let me get some work done before my spine shoots out my mouth and into your eye socket??" he said, standing close to her and looking her in the eyes. Some panic, plus someone trying to interfere with his research, under all these conditions was not the best for Aleron's normally cool state-of-mind...
Mace barked and growled a bit, standing between them both and causing them to stagger away from each other. She barked again, and Aleron let out a short sigh. "Fine. You want to watch me, you come to my lap and do it. Can she be moved? I want to run tests on her as well." he 'compromised' finally. "Now, where are those two stretchers I requested?" he asked, a little calmer and much quieter now.

Yes, it is necessary, because you probably wouldn't be able to kill yourself if the infection took over. Not that I-- her thoughts that she wished she had the nerve to say were interrupted by his sudden proximity and dark wost-case-scenario.
Mace's interruption was welcomed, as it seemed to have distracted Aleron. But his compromise... "...I'm not sure what to say to that offer. I know that it's just as important to watch you in case you turn as it is for you to research...but I won't have near as many supplies if something goes wrong..." She went quiet for a while, thinking, before finally sighing. "Yeah, if we move her to a stretcher, we could move her. Just no tests more invasive than a blood sample on her, okay? She's still much too weak to handle anything more."
Packing up her supplies, she went over to where the stretchers were, pulling out three; Aleron's requested two and one for Sonja. Opening the comm. link for the Captain to hear, she said, "Captain, this is Miya. I need to watch Aleron, but he needs to go to his lab to research what we're up against. And I can't leave the survivor, so we're relocating her to Aleron's lab. If it's as clean and isolated as he says, it might be a better location for her, anyway," she said as she brought one of the stretchers over to the patient, stopping along the way to stock up on as many supplies as possible, grabbing a new bag of IV fluid as well. The Captain would likely be mad that she didn't ask permission first, but she didn't care at the moment. At that moment, she only cared about taking care of the patient and letting Aleron try to figure out what he could.
"Can you help me move her? I think she can be layed down now that her bleeding has stopped," she said to Aleron as she grabbed the survivor's legs to move her.

Aleron nodded. "Yeah...sure.." he said, going to the girl and helping lift her to the stretcher. "Wheel her to my lab and BE. CAREFUL! Don't touch anything, there are things in there that can kill you in seconds in the worst of ways." He warned as he headed for the door. "I'll be right in with the keycard to get past the innitial doors, air lock, and bio-chemical scanners. Just wait at the door for me." he ordered as he took the stretchers, one in front and the other tied to Mace, and headed out. Mace's tail was wagging, happy to be with Aleron again and know he was ok.
Aleron headed out of the ship, stopping and opening full comm. "This is 2nd Lt. Aleron. I'm heading out with Mace at my side, we're going to collect the creature that attacked me, and the bone-creatures." he informed the team. "I'll be keeping an open comm, as will Mace, during the gathering. s**t gets hairy, I'm sprinting back here so...if at all possible, someone be ready to meet up with me." he requested as he started toward that hall again.

((Probably should pause. I'm sure Aurora would have something to say here, but I can't particularly think of what Ixor would have her say. She gets off of work in an hour and 45 minutes though, so she should be on in about 2 hours.))
