Athran Proudly_Jewish Athran Is this correct? 'Может быть только одно' to mean 'there can be only one'. I want to use it in a sig. Mojet bit' tolko odin iz nih 3nodding (It can only be one of them... it sounds a little odd to say it otherwise) Thank you. Do you mean that it sounds odd in Russian? I know it's a little strange to say it that way in English, but it's more of a personal motto to mean 'I'm unique'. How is it written in cyrillic (I'm not much good at writing it)? That is an odd way to phrase that, exactly... Anyways, I´ll try to help with the writing when I get back in the US (still in Costa Rica). Hermonie Urameshi I can type now, but I still can't read it. It's confusing! gonk Awwww.... Most books have lots of words that you can sit there and read out until you get used to it. Lots of cognates. Like jurnal, which actually means something more like magazine. magazin does not mean magazine, but I forget what it really means... sweatdrop Anyways. I need to get off the computer soon, there´s a line forming now.

Does anyone know how to say "for" and what case to use, as in "I don't eat babies for breakfast"?
As best as I can tell, I should use "na"... but not sure yet what case
на and the instrumental case.

A guy (penpal) in Moscow tells me that 'zdravctvoitte' isn't used and that they say 'zdraste' instead of the full word.
Got talking about that 'cause I've just started some Russian and said that I can't pronounce 'zdravctvoitte' for the life of me.
I talk to two people who are so willing to help me (though one seems to have net probs at the moment), yet I know next to nothing. Thus, I woudn't worry about talking to people when you know nothing. If it were me I'd be thinking 'at least they're trying to learn and are interested'.

I just say it the way it sounds and struggle to remember how to write it. Or just try to always stick with privyet, since that's all I've heard actually used anyway xd dramallama

Forgedawn, but isn't privyet just used for friends and people you know? I mean, If you do something more official in RU wouldn't you have to use zdravctvoitte/zdraste?
Ever since it's became common knowledge that I've started RU, my brother has been doing a load of Russian/rushin' jokes.
I'd love to say to him 'shut up' in RU.
Anyone know how it's said/written?
I ain't gonna trust a translator with something like that.
