Ariku nodded to Omny. "Just a second."she said and went off to get the cakes. On the way she smiled and bowed to Iyasu and Popo."
"Konnichiwa." she said then went off to the kitchen.
Moments later she came back and sat down. She placed the tray on the table and smiled.
"Here we go."she said handing one to everyone.

Nervously Popo nodded to her onee-san. She was terribly afraid of what tonight might bring her. She knew she was probably ready, though she was still frightened of the thought of this new place and the fact that she was growing older. Popo hoped that she would make her onee-san proud. She stepped inside..

Omny took the rice cake and lightly munched on it. Her eyes looked up as a maiko entered the room. She gave a worm smile but her eyes stayed frozen. Taking a break from her rice cake Omny said "Thank you Ariku" .

Iyasu bowed to Arikku and nodded to Tanpopo. She moved forward and listened to laughter and chattering coming from the previous direction her student came from. She smiled to her younger sister and led the way until the laughter and thrills of conversation reached enormous volumes. She settled herself onto her knees and nodded to Popo-chan to follow her.
"Here we go. Do not worry, you do not have to speak until you are asked to or if a patron is speaking to you." Iyasu whispered softly to the maiko just before rolling back the screen door. She bowed gracefully and rose up, "Good evening to you! I see some formilar faces and a new face as well. I have a brought with me my new younger sister." Iyasu moved to the side to allow Tanpopo to introduce herself.

Tora glanced up at the new arrivals. "Hello Iyasu-chan, Tanpopo-chan," she smiled and bowed.

"Tora-san! It is so good to see you again!" She said while bowing to the other geisha. As she rose up she smiled to faces in the room. Shagatsu and Omny were sitting next to one another along with an empty seat for Arikku. Next to Tora was a new gentleman that she had never seen before. Iyasu glided over them and took a seat next to new patron.
"Good evening, sir." She said with small bow, "My name is Iyasu and this young maiko, is Tanpopo-chan. It would be a pleasure to entertain you this evening." Her blood red lips softly curved into a smile.

Popo followed closely behind her onee-san. When Iyasu introduced her, she took a bow, but said nothing. Popo was shy and uneasy in new situations, but she smiled softly and innocently the whole time to make up for her lack of speech.
Popo noticed new faces in the room and some not new. She gave a little wave to Arikku and Shagatsu. Popo was still a bit childish and felt it necessary to wave to her friends. Oh well..
Popo followed her onee-san and bowed with her before the new patron.

This conversation was growing dull to her so she once agian looked out the window spotting the bird Shagatsu had released priviously. It flew so freely and beautifully she had longed to be with. She schooted closer to the window and rested her hands in front of her as her chin gently balanced on them.

She poured the patron some sake and then refilled Tora's cup. Iyasu looked over to Omny to see her gazing out of the window.
"Why, Omny-chan! I did not recognize you with your hair down and in western make-up. What made you change from the maiko attire?" She asked as she poured Popo-chan a cup of tea.

Iyasu's voice cought her attention, she was pleasntly surprised to be remembered. Trying to answer the question as humblyas she could " I am becoming a giesha, the ceremony is ina few days you are wellcome to come."

"Well, congradulations Omny-chan! I'm sure your Onee-san must be very proud of you." She said, noting how Shagatsu was wrapping his arm the girl's waist. "This is quite a night to celebrate! We have a new geisha and a debuting maiko among us." She smiled and winked to Tanpopo.

Tora huffed and rolled her eyes. "Sure. Sure I'm proud. I have nothing thanks to her," she thought hatefully. She put on an overly fake smile while hate flamed in her eyes. "That would be me. And I'm, oh, so proud," she said sarcasticly. Tora saw how he was loving on her and turned her back to them.

From the placement of the hands of Shagatsu to the burning embers of green envy flashing in Tora's eyes. Iyasu smiled thoughtfully to Tora and leaned toward her fellow geisha and whispered into her ear, "Of course you should be proud. As a geisha, our art lives on in individual girls that we may be fond of or royally dislike. The patrons are the judges in our world. It is her goal to please them and not just him. Although, I admit, by the looks of it he maybe her donna, but that does not mean that they're more fish out in the sea. Harvesting such envy will get you no where in our world rather quickly. So, be charming and put everything. Flirt with the patron next to you. " ONLY Tora could hear what Iyasu said to her. She meant it be gentle and more of a guide, not a scold or to hurt her friend.

Her eyes glanced up at Shagatsu and smiled. She looking up into his eyes but quickly remembering where she was Omny turned back to the group and looked for a way to liven up the room "Popo-chan, was it? " she asked and continued "I think I have seen you at the salon once."
