A spring gets coiled up and held back, at this point, it has potential energy that has built up in it's coils. When you let go, it releases out all the way, the release is kinetic energy. even so i just said it needed poitental energy thats it

Ace: A rock has no potential to move on it's own. If it is currently in motion like running water then it can have Potential Energy. Only objects currently in motion of their own causing can have Potential Energy. A rock can be made to move but it didn't do it on it's own. Get it?
