Yup.
Traditional Japanese chado tea is more opaque and thicker looking.
Tea is so darn finicky.
With coffee, you just tell it to do things and then add stuff.
Not so much with tea...

So gross.

The small Japanese kind for sipping.
I may have had my tea a tad too hot as well...
But yeah, cast iron conducts heat super well.
They're a little bigger than a coaster, but yup.
That's exactly what tea warmers do.
And they do that very well.

Doesn't seem likely, but I'm not going to assume that and be wrong...
(no kidding. And they can be proud of that, just the same as they can be proud of getting a maid fired for telling him and his friend they could have thrown away two PAPER PLATES they'd left on a table. And wow. How is that guy still working there? What a jerk)

....see...I've never had anyone I was dating give me a ring before....I got a weird necklace from one once...but never anything as symbolic as a ring is...and never with any meaning even approximating 'I give you this as sign of you being mine/I like seeing you wear something I gave you'...so I just....don't entirely know what to think of it....definitely asking more questions about this ring because I'm now super curious.......especially since....he's the first guy I've honestly been able to see myself marrying...and by that I mean I can see the not-perfect version of things...me worrying over him, him getting annoyed at me for being messy, me getting annoyed at him for not directly answering a question...doing laundry, cooking....not getting to talk because on of us is too tired...worrying about bills...
Considering that he is extremely ticklish, it's a very good threat. It can also end with me being pinned to prevent me tickling him, but it's worth the risk.
Yes.....heck...if I weren't so weird about it being the guy who should ask and me not wanting to force something he/we aren't completely ready for or we don't have the means for on him....I'd ask him...though it'd be a highly awkward, vague because blushing and nervous, way of asking... Part of it is the fact that I just don't like diamonds...but the majority of it is the money thing. GAH. I'm starting to get weird and have weird things run through my head and my brain keeps telling me I need to ask him questions like 'would people force us to have a wedding ceremony? Because I'd much rather just have a couple witnesses and go to a courthouse...and maybe have a party." and I keep trying to tell the not-logical part of my brain to shut up because dangit, now is NOT the time to ask such things because no and no and is now really the time because he said he could see it, not 'bombard me with marriage-related things that you've had floating around in the back bits of your brain for forever that weren't terribly important to you because meh weddings'. I'm just not a fan of my brain some days.... I may have to ask him if it would annoy him if I said the things to stop my brain from pestering me to death over them....It's not a thing of me being desperate to get married...though I guess on one hand it IS a case of me wanting to jump at anything that would further bind me to him.........I'm hopeless (as in hopelessly smitten) aren't I? It's gotten so bad that my dreams are starting to feature him...or in some cases feature dream-me going 'hey, you're not the guy I love, why isn't he here instead of you?'
Yup. That's pretty standard for a high-schooler to me more concerned about their stuff.

Oh I see. o3o I wonder if I would like matcha in it's more original, traditional way... maybe not. lol

And ya know, it's funny- cus Coffee can actually be just as finicky as tea!
There's tons of different varieties, and different ways to roast those varieties, and then there's different ways to treat them, store them, grind them, and brew them, that can all affect the flavor. Like, if you keep coffee at home, ideally you'd want it as a whole bean in a cool (but not too cold) dry, dark, airtight container. Cus air, moisture, and temp can make the coffee change or go bad and cause things like bitter flavors. Same with the brewing method. You could make in a coffee pot and do drip coffee, or you could do a pour over, use a french press, an espresso machine, or this one machine I forget the name of.. And, If the grounds are exposed to water for too long it can get bitter like tea can when it steeps too long, or if they aren't ground to suit the humidity and pressure in the air that day the water won't pass through them properly, all kinds of stuff like that.

But one thing I think is true for sure- with coffee it's easier to add stuff like cream and sugar to make it taste good if your brewing method and stuff isn't perfect. lol

Oh I see.
But then, if your tea wasn't really hot,
and the cast iron leaked all the heat out,
you'd just have cold tea and that wouldn't be good either.
You're probably right about passing up the cast iron cups. XP
I need a tea warmer. o3o

Good idea. Don't get your hopes up and stuff too much, ya know? Cus it might not be impossible depending on how many other locations are near you.
(He got someone fired over two paper plates? What the hell. How does THAT guy still work there. >w< I think my jerky person still works with me cus he seems to be good at making customers happy. He has decent work ethic, just not much else in my opinion. )

I see. Nothing wrong with asking questions in my opinion. To be honest, in my relationship I was the one who gave the ring. >w< So I'm not sure I can give any more insight than what your guy could answer once you finally get it outta him. You really seem to have something special there Amu, if you can see all that in a future with him and be happy. :')

Awwwwww! I really think I get that- The not liking diamonds, and not wanting them to spend much money on you, and wanting to get married to the person but feeling like the guy should be the one to ask. I totally get it. >w< But it's adorable, and I think I have to agree, you are incredibly smitten. Since he brought it up, the idea that he could see himself with you in the future, I don't think it would be unreasonable for you to ask him if you could let your brain spit out all the wedding stuff that you've been thinking about. Because something as big as that can bring up a lot of questions and thoughts about the future, even if you aren't intending to rush into a marriage right now, It would be understandable that you'd like to express those things. Sometimes it's just hard to stop thinking about that stuff.

IT's very bitter in that form...
*knows this because I went to a traditional Japanese tea ceremony; they had some tea sweets to help with the bitterness*

...why can't tasty drinks be simple to make?
I mean...I don't mind spending time making drinks, but that's easier at work than at home, because at home stuff happens.
At work, you're just doing tea things all day.

Eh, you can say the same about tea to some extent.
mmmm cream and sugar...

Yeah.
Hence why I learned to not fill the cups as full as I wanted.
Mostly solves the too hot problem.

Exactly.
( well apparently he's had many jobs....and he's 23 like I am...yet somehow he's so much less mature than I am about a lot of things.... I think he still works here because Teavana absolutely HATES firing people and would rather teach the person first. So you pretty much can't get fired from Teavana, you have to quit. It's highly unlikely he'll quit....but it's also unlikely his general nature will change either. I don't mind talking to the guy, but I hate many of the things he does. and that sounds like why someone is still working at the grocery store I no longer work at. She's not a very good person, but the customers love her (and don't know her two faces) and she does her job. Maybe he'll do something really stupid? )

*blushy flailing because gah*

......you're so much more logical about that than I am. I never even thought about the whole 'if he's bringing it up' thing. ....^_^;; AND I think he's gotten more obvious about caring about me or something because he's being super unfair more often in the ways he's saying things and just....I don't know what to do with it...I'd have expected he'd be annoyed at me by now over my not having a car in a city that basically requires having a car...but he's not and just...gah....he's so unfair....>/////< *doesn't need advice on that, I just need to flail about it some more because I'm happy about it, but not used to someone being like this towards me....especially a significant other being this patient and such and things*

.....there definitely has to be.
Either way, the mental visual is not a good one.

Making tea is much better.

most likely. but there's also the fact that the person in the lane below you has to wait if they're about to pass you. they can't go faster than the person above them. and it's even less of a good thing to experience

this is no surprise at all

That's just....

Mhm.
Especially because it smells fairly nice.
There are times when the used tea smells awful, but that's only if you stick your face in it.

they might drop some stuff into the aisle below them while raking, and if someone goes faster than them, the garbage is left there. and if someone goes slow and holds everyone else up, they get moved to a lower aisle so they don't hold everyone up

anything that smells good can smell horrible if it's in too high a concentration. and anything that smells good when cooked/prepared can smell horrible before cooking/preparing. that aside, tea does smell good

I see...

No.....I mean that the tea itself, after being brewed....the now soggy leaves and pieces of dried fruit....smell awful.
Usually, the tea smells good before being brewed and maybe after being brewed if it's hot.
But as a rule I try to not smell the soggy brewed tea bits.

Okies.
And I figure you'll remember on your own.
It's not like people purposely smell soggy tea.
I did because I was at work and curious.....
I regret being curious.

i may have ended up succumbing to curiosity same as you had i not been informed of it being a bad idea. and it seems in this case curiosity killed the cat, while dissatisfaction prevented it from coming back

I just know which ones so far to definitely avoid.

Oh yeah. So many punches owed. And damn. It must not help that he's the boss's son. In my situation, I at least have the upper hand with the boss- he knows a lot of the drama and stuff isn't my fault. I feel quite proffered over my obnoxious coworker in the boss' eyes actually. Which is reassuring. But still, I think I'd get fired if I started throwing punches even so.

Well at least it's working for you for now! what a long time not to have a break. O-O
I'm currently in college, and I'm hoping that for next quarter, the fact that I'm taking only online classes will help me. People keep telling me that online is hard to do, and my fiance doesn't think that it will work for me (Because I can be forgetful and a procrastinator and it requires a lot of reading for online classes). But it's a practical solution for some issues I was having. Most of my family lives out of state you see, and they want me to visit. And every year, my work closes for a brief 10 day - 2 week long vacation during the summer, because business is always really slow during that time anyway. So logically, I should go out of state during that time my work is closed. However, last year, that time fell during summer classes so I had to take 10 days off of work, but couldn't go on vacation due to school, then later once school was over I had to take another 10 days off work to go on vacation. Monetarily, that was a hard time for my fiance and I, trying to pay bills last summer because I missed so much work. So I realized I couldn't do that again, and it became a choice between going to see family or taking classes and getting closer to my degree this year. Tough choice. So I picked online classes as a potential remedy. Hopefully that will help me manage time and things...

Yeah, physical assault is usually frowned on in the workplace. Even if the a*****e deserves it.

Yeah, but I did it to myself because I'm kind of dumb, so I can't complain too much.

Well, good luck. My sister took a lot of online classes for her associates degree, and she loved them. For people, like her, who are online a lot, it's a useful system since they're already right there on the computer.
Hopefully, it will work out well for you too. =] It's kind of crazy when you have to choose between your family and everything else.

unless you consider brewed tea to be a particularly good scent, in which case you've run across some that do in fact smell particularly good. but hopefully you don't find many/any more of the disgusting ones
