First off, who says we're competing against other countries? What do we get if we win? Seriously..
Secondly, not enough time in school is obviously NOT the problem. The problem is the fact that teachers are NOT doing their job thanks to tenure. What's that? you may ask. Tenure enables teachers to NEVER get fired unless caught doing something EXTREMELY bad on the spot such as fighting another teacher (physically), bringing a gun to school, or caught by another teacher or the principle raping someone. That's it. Other than that, they get to stay at the school, hardly teach a thing, treat the students how they want, and get an easy paycheck with the summers off.
NOT to mention that schools should investigate a teacher's background heavily. My high school, from what I hear NOW, has ELEVEN pervs. Eleven perverted teachers that are potential sex offenders.
Also, one of the teachers I had back in high school was a mental patient.
So you see.. it's not whether or not we spend enough time in school. It's whether or not the teachers are doing their ******** job. NOT TO MENTION the school food sucks a**. Who'd wanna spend more time in school getting sick off that s**t? I'm serious..

Extending school doesn't bother me any. I'm thankful I'm out of school and unless I chose to go back to college, I don't EVER have to worry about that EVER again. If I were a kid though, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be thrilled with it, but I hated school from 1st grade until 12th grade, I'm just glad I'll never have to worry about it EVER again. I do agree that there should be something done to help kids learn easier, I mean, where I went to school you could fail ALL your homework and just pass your tests and be completely okay. I suck at test and relied HEAVILY on how good my homework was or I would of NEVER passed anything.
That's just my opinion though xD

Who says you can't get worse scores by "over-teaching"? Oh, and if we win, we get to gloat. OMG I WANT TO SO BAD IT HURTS. -.-
