the first part of teh battle made it painfully obvious that Malik's skill and Dimitri's with a blade was pretty much dead even. it became a game of power and outlasting.
the way I took it was that Malik's shadowstepping around and attacking and swinging, was negated, and quite easily, by dimitri standing in place. hence, using ebony directly was not going to work.
which is why I turned to trying to use the holy energy inherint in the blade itself as the weapon. like the glass trick and the bolt of it and things like that.
also, during that entire thing, never once did Dimitri, that I saw, lose or let go of his sword. so Malik coudln't, viably I thought, hit him with the blade.

And never once, that I could see, did you actually strick out your sword at dimitri. You shadow stepped, you mgaiced, but you enver actually turned the sword in his direction. There was never a specific action for me to use.
Dimitri is an NPC, I was expecting some automatic hits.
