they tell you that the character can take this and that. And that you can switch it with certain things. But what happened to the full list. Like being able to take termie honours and jump pack and auspex and krak grenades and stuff
Because most of that is already on the Character, A single DA marine has, frag and krag grenades, a bolt pistol, they shall know no fear, a bolter, and the new Combat squads rules. True I'd rather not pay the points all the time, but Those little peices of Wargear have their amazing upside, most of the time they can take care of light vehicles, assault into cover safely, and instead of rapid fireing their bolters, they can simply pull out the bolt pistol to maximize Casualties before assaulting. And back to the Characters, Every model Except the Company master and the normal Chaplain can take either a bike, a jump pack, or Terminator armor.
Sure we have lost options but it just forces the player to take a more Balanced army list instead of Uber units killing everything in the field. I think GW is starting to do that more to prevent those Stupid GT players who take the most Un-balanced list and kill every one with it. Their trying to put some of the fun back in the game, some people just take it way to seriously, GW just wants the Idea of the game to be more strategy and luck than just, "I'm gonna play Iron warriors just to take 3 Defiliers with indirect fire, 9 Obliterators, and I'll just minimize the points cost of my HQ and troops options so I can take more upgrades for the Defiliers." I don't like it that way either, This game is much more fun when your opponent has strategy and not just How many or how big of an uber unit they can fit in the points restrictions. And your buddy needs to Fully read and understand the Codex I too used to play the second edition DA back when Psykers were the shiznit man, sure we have lost some stuff, but it has compensated for itself. Sure I'd like to have stubborn and Intractable but Combat Squads are a much better deal for me Strategically, I can be so much more offensive with units than the classic Defensive Idea of, "oh well I failed morale, but I can still shoot what I was shooting."
Phew, sorry for the rant guys.
BTW, you kinda stretched the screen Vharing. I kind of want to see a moose though sometime, cool dude.
