"I didn't do anything. I dropped her on accident. When I looked back after attacking you, she was just gone." Kenryoku replied, glancing away for a moment. "I have not yet had the chance to contact those who sent me."

Soy frowned. "Are you sure you're not lying to me again?" she asked, the bitterness depicted within her voice.

"What reason would I have to lie?" Kenryoku asked, his eyes burning with anger. "I am no villain!" he shouted, angry at his situation. "I did not choose this fate! To take the lives of so many whom never deserved to feel my magic rip them apart! Why would I lie to you, Soy Nitron? Why?"

"Because you used me to get at Ashuri!" Soy shouted back, throwing her arms down as her hands formed into fists and she quickly had to control her rage. Maybe she was overreacting, maybe he wasn't really using her. He may have avoided telling her all of the truth, but she had been so welcoming to be of help to one that seemed like her. "I said I would help you, but not in that way!"

"I did not know you were friends with her." Kenryoku replied, looking away, "And I am sorry, but she MUST die! The future of my people depends on this!"

"We are not friends..." Soy corrected him, taken aback by what he said next. "But why does she have to die?" Was it really so simple, one life for another?

"If my son dies, the blood of the Daemon dies with him. I can not father a second heir! I am dying and I can do nothing to stop it! That is why I must destroy those who stand in the path of Konton, a Demon of terrible power. If I do not fulfill my mission... My son is as good as dead." Kenryoku replied angrily.

"Well, I suppose the ...transformation as you might call it, occurred about 1000 years ago when I was still in my youth. I remember myself meditation in the forest, the next moment my head felt bloated as if occupied by more than myself. Over the years, I've managed to cage this dark side of me from appearing too often, but it has slipped a few times now and then. What I do while during conscience I can never remember and it annoys me terribly. Just today, this personality slipped out, and if not for Soy and Ashuri, I would have continued to wreak havoc on the city using Dark Magic, thus they have taken away my staff."
Lythia sighed heavily as if letting out a huge burden. It was a strange tale with no ending... yet, and she didn't expect Bulma to completely understand it.

Soy's gaze softened, her anger subsiding. "Let me still help you then, Kenryoku," she said gently. "I...I believe there is another solution that doesn't involve the death of those who should remain out of this."

"And how? This Demon is stronger than all the armies my people have thrown at him in the past. He is but ONE! Now... he has hundreds of allies!" Kenryoku replied.

"I may not look it to you, but I can be a powerful ally myself," Soy pointed a finger at Kenryoku, stubborn to prove her worth, to show her strength. She did not have such a chance for a long time. "I am a part of a strong race, and I have energy that, if I'm right, can fight this darkness," she smirked. "You cut off the head, and the body breaks down. Thats what you should do."

"What can simple Saiya-jin, for I know that is what you are, possibly do against the sheer evil of Konton? The moment he knows I have betrayed him, my son will be eaten... ALIVE." Kenryoku replied, shaking his head. "No... I must do as he commands."

"We had better hurry back then." Morrigan murmured quietly, in a way that was almost more to herself than to them. The dark-haired woman's eyes were faraway. "I have similar powers to you, Ashuri. I'm glad to know there are others in other races and such..."

"And as a Saiya-jin, I know no limit to my power..." Soy trailed off, before she frowned in thought. "Then...Tell him that I am Ashuri, but if he knows what she looks like, then that defeats the purpose..."

Maeve said nothng for a long while. She looked at Thom and in response he started signing to her. Because he was carrying his violin case in one hand, the boy was forced to spell out many words as he could not use both hands to illustrate.
Much of the silent conversation was lost on Leif, who was less able at diciphering Thom's one-handed signing. Maeve however understood everything perfectly.
He seems decent enough, but can we trust him fully? Leif is one thing, but I don't exactly like the idea of spreading the story around to too many people.
Maeve realsed one of her own arms from around Leif's neck and signed in return If we trust Leif, shouldn't we be able to trust those he trusts? We need help, Thom.her eyes bored into his own, worried and frightened.
Thom frowned, considering. Leif was a very good judge of charcter, both of them knew that. Yet this thing that they had landed themselves in was incrediably dangerious and they both had been warned about potinial enimies. Thom's hand brush the falred-sun pommel of his sword and he eyed the cresent moon one of his sister's.
He didn't like admitting he ever needed help, but for once Maeve was absolutly right. It wouldn't be right to enlist this Po-ar to help them and not tell him what was going on. Sighing, Thom's hand flashed teo letters, OK
His twin's face lit up inot a relived broad smile. She turned back to Trunks. "Well certainly, we'll fill you in eventually. After all, it's horrible manners to have someone tell you part of a story and then not bother to fill you in," she said playfully, giving Leif a flick on the ear.
