He gave her a little grin. He looked a little shy, almost, and then embarrased. "Sorry. I shouldn't have done that." A guilty look came into his eyes and he helped her off of his lap with a sheepish look. "They told me..." He trailed off, looking distracted, his breathing still heavy and voice still husky from their kisses.

Kelala hugged herself shivering from the lost of warmth. The storm in her mind began to clear when she no longer felt his touch. Yet a part of it yearned for it and to not think of anything else. Shaking her head she chased that thought away and tried to lath on something more rational. "They told you what?" She asked her curiousity peaked and desperate to hold onto something other then the though of there kisses.

"I...they told me..." He seemed increasingly more uncomfortable. Restless, he stood, running one hand down the opposite arm. He turned away from her. "They told me...that I shouldn't..." In confusion he turned to her, seeming to change suddenly from someone who was dazed and lost to someone who grasped what was going on. "You really want to know?" He asked. No one had ever asked him anything personal about him unless they wanted something from him. Something between fear and uncertainty shot down his spine, mixed with...something else.

"Yes I want to know." Kelala said as she uncouncisly fumbled with her shirt that was almost falling off but wasn't just yet. Maybe finaly she could get some answers of what was really going on. And maybe...just maybe she could help him. Why she wanted to help him after all that happen she didn't know. All that matter was her urge to know, understand, and to help.

He looked at her oddly, a little differently than usual. He turned to face her completely, hands on his hips thoughtfully. His eyes glazed over a bit as he began to speak. "They came...and took me, when I was younger. They told me...never to...like anyone." He smiled helplessly. "Stupid, huh?" He asked, looking embarrassed and chuckling helplessly at himself. He'd never been able to talk to anyone like this before. It was...uncomfortable.

"But you need people...companionship. Some to like and to like you back. Its only natural." She said in a slight wonder confused why anyone would tell him that. To be with some one was praticaly instict. Atleast for her kind it was. Maybe it was them that kept him here saying that there was a monster.

"They told me to trust no one but them." He cocked his head, a guilty smile on his face. "And they said never to kiss anyone. Ever. So I just broke a rule." He shuddered, his confidence melting away. He wrapped his arms around himself. He didn't want to get in trouble...but, man, he wanted to kiss her again. And again, and many more times after that. No no no! He'd get in trouble. If he got in trouble, they wouldn't let him stay here. He swallowed, staring at the ground, carefully avoiding looking at her.

"Do you want to do as your told though?" She said as she looked over at him. Carefully choosing her words as she handled this subject. It seemed there was more to him then she thought. It could explain how his moods change so quickly.

He took a step away. "I have to. It was our deal. They taught me. They...saved me." He suddenly melted. Whimpering, he whispered. "They said I couldn't come back if I didn't agree to follow their rules. And now I just broke one." He moaned, raking his fingers through his hair. But it had felt so good! So right...

"Never come back...to where...here?" She asked as she stood up. Making sure her shirt didn't fall as she watched him. This isn't right something just wasn't right with all of this. And she was going to figure out just what it was.

He couldn't look at her. "If I didn't come back, people would get hurt." He whimpered. "It would get them." He suddenly changed the subject. "How old are you?" He asked with the curiosity of a child. "Do you have any brothers and sisters? What was your family like?"

"My family is dead...I am alone now even though I don't like it." She said softly annoyed that he changed the subject. Once again he brought up it...the monster that supposedly existed. But...who were these people.

"I'm sorry." Ovaan murmurred with a dramatic little pout of sympathy. "Can you read? I can, a little. Could you teach me the rest? I know that there's stuff I don't know, but I don't know how to learn...since I don't know it. I can read and write in Lavianese, though. That's my native language. Or at least, I think it is. I dunno. Never knew my family. I was pretty smart, you know, for a slave. I learned when they weren't paying attention. Then I ran away, 'cause they were getting tired of me. They were going to kill me." He smiled sunnily at her, moving about the room as he rattled on, straightening the room, folding blankets, and talk, talk, talking. "But you're not alone. You have me. And your shukua. Do you believe in shukua? I think mine died. Or abandoned me. I wouldn't be surprised. I must really not be that interesting of a person, since you want to leave me, too." He had sobered up, slightly, by this point, and his last words held a special weight, followed by silence as he turned away from her to fold one of the blankets from the floor, eyes a glazed green. He was hurt.

"I can't stay here, espiacly if you don't trust me. It seems it will cuase you more trouble if I stayed here with you. I would rather you come with me but that once again comes back to you trusting me. And you won't do that." She could tell he was just trying to distracting himself. And what she was saying might hurt him. But she wasn't going to lie about how she felt about the situation. She was hurt as well since he couldn't trust her. And hurt that he had just basicaly played with her a moment ago.

Looking away from her, Ovaan scowled.Tears pushed at the edges of his eyes. What was this? Frowning deeply, he brushed the liquid away. How dare she do this to him? Who did she think she was, anyway? She couldn't leave, anyway. Not until her back was healed. And after that (it wouldn't take much longer...), he...would come up with something. Some excuse to keep her with him forever.
With a frustrated sigh, he reminded her, "You can't leave." Without turning to look at her. He clutched teh blanket he held in his hands so tightly his knuckles were white. But otherwise he just felt tired and weak and helpless.
