I'd say Ryou/Yami no Bakura and Otogi. Malik rarley has attractive expressions, and as even in real life I'm mainly attracted to faces, this loses him massive hot points.

I can definitely say where you're coming from in saying Malik's facial expressions aren't so attractive, but I have a bit of a different taste in faces; I like the crazy/angry look. XD Hair is also a big factor for me, and eyes of course.

I'm more into pretty...or smug...like Y. Bakura has a wicked smirk that I absolutely adore. So why Malik has pretty elements like hair and eyes, he has a harder time holding it together as a package for me. Unlike Otogi who always look good, and Y. Bakura who usually looks good. Plus back in the day I was more into white hair on anime characters, back when Inuyasha was my biggest love razz . That's probably not true anymore, probably lean more towards gold and black but Malik still has too many fails to be the tops for me. Also I don't like his clothes, too metro for my tastes.

Pretty is always good too, and smug works for me sometimes. Oh yes, Inu Yasha... I remember that never-ending series... I'm most fond of black hair still, though gold is really standing out to me now that I've fallen for Jounouchi. I also like white hair, or really light-colored hair, though more if it's thin, shoujo-style hair than with thick pointy hair like Bakura. I love metro clothes. <3

Yea...apparently it had a fail fall off the cliff ending, I dunno, never made it there. Oh well, maybe I'll check out the manga someday, I'm sure it's better. Of course this reminds me I want to finish Ranma, I only had a dozen or so episodes left. Pretty sure Ranma was longer than Inuyasha, but it wasn't so interconnected so it seemed less cumbersome.
My favorite anime/manga character (even though I don't know that it's still my favorite series - well, it's one of my favorite manga series, and the new anime will hopefully trump the old whenever I get around to watching it) is Edward Elric, which is probably why I like the gold so much. I think black is the one thing that I pretty much consistantly like though. I think the one thing I consistantly don't like in anime is unnatural colored hair. Green haired Kaiba - bad! Cyan haired Weevil - ugly! Though he'd be ugly anyhow, hehe. I think I can sometimes tolerate pink haired girls, but that's it. Of course this is strictly anime speaking. In real life I actually have often found bright/neon/unnatural hair dyes attractive.
It's weird, I don't like metro clothes on metro characters. Or, same goes in real life. Like if I know a guy who looks and dresses really metro I'm more into if he acts and his personality is more masculine and coarse. Kind of how Ed is really pretty but he's also this awesome angry little hotspur who doesn't act pretty at all. Of course I don't like the reverse, manly looking men who act weirdly fem (like Armstrong in FMA). Probably part of that not really being attracted to feminine personalities thing, I know you've said your more pansexual in your attractions so that wouldn't be an effect for you but it's something noticeable and less attracting to me.

I never even got close to the end of Inu Yasha, and I was reading the manga to begin with. Speaking of which, the manga actually *just* ended recently... in Japan. O_o Yes, black is almost always likable on any character. ^^ It's just so pretty. I like colorful hair on anime characters as long as it's like... good color. Like lime green and cyan, as in your examples, ew. But bright orange or dark blue or dark green? They work on a lot of characters for me. It just depends on the color, really. First series YUU*GI*OU had horrible hair color choices, like Kaiba's nasty green and Shizuka's "is it pink or is it purple?" But then Sailor Moon has a lot of colorful hair and it works. For me I think I like the metrosexual look if it shows off the body; you don't get that enough with guys. So the personality doesn't really matter in that case for me, because I'm only caring about the looks when thinking about clothing. XD

I got into the anime first, and by then the manga was WAY too long for me to want to get invested in at the time. Good to hear it's ended though, always reassuring when things end...it'll be nice to discover it ends well, but incomplete drives me off a wall. I need resolution!!! Even if it's fail resolution ~_~.
Orange I'd like maybe, but that would be closer to natural, I do know several actual "carrot tops" in real life, so bright orange doesn't really fall into "unnatural" for me. I can't think of any green or blue that I like, but I do agree that the sailormoon characters look better. I also think female anime characters pull off unnatural better than male.
Ah but personality is a part of looks for me. It effects how you stand, how you carry yourself, body language is very important. And while I have no qualms about people "baring it all" if they so choose, I'm much less enticed by skin teases. I like to see the way clothes fit over muscle and curve and shape. Now gorgeous guys, of course I want to see them lying out in speedos. That's been oh so lovely. However in general I don't find most metro clothes to be very attractive styles, especially belly shirts. In fact I don't care how cut and attractive you are, belly shirts are just, ick. So I guess with Malik, it's not just the metro, it's he has the worst examples of the metro look for me. Or perhaps I've been too biased by my snobby model/fashion designer friends, hahaha. My favorite won't watch shows if the cast isn't well styled, guess he could never watch YGO, not that he would anyhow ^_~.

Just looked it up for curiosity's sake, and ho snap, Inu Yasha lasted for fifty-six friggin volumes! That's a lot of "Kagomeeee!!" True, orange is a tad bit more natural. I'm still fond of certain greens and blues though, as well as purple and such. ^^ I don't noticed body language enough for it to change my opinion, not to mention it's not as individualistic in anime, as a lot of animators don't consider that as much. Either way though, I prefer belly shirts much more than speedos. Guess I like a little bit more of a skin tease than full-fledged figures. wink Perhaps because I already see so many naked people through life drawing, the clothing working to accentuate the sexual parts of the body is more of a turn on for me. But oh wow, I would never watch a show or not watch a show based on what they wear. XD

I knew it had to be something crazy like that because I think it was in the 40s last time I paid attention a few years ago. I definitely wouldn't start it anytime soon. That's just too much of a commitment for right now.
Purple I like sometimes, but yea I can't think of any male character I like with unnatural hair colors (other then pink, or mere highlights).
Again, the speedo is only for the unbelievably smexy. It's not a preference, it's my exception to the skin as sexy rule, ON the sexy. Whereas belly shirts are bad, no matter how sexy you are. They are bad on girls too. They are just bad. Even if you aren't fat, they make you look fat. On anime characters, they make you look 12, because if a belly shirt isn't making you look fat, you have not hit puberty. I mean again Malik, I probably said metro because he's "straight." But, it's really just TOO fem. Of course like I said, girls shouldn't wear them either *head shake so fast head spins around like an owl*.
On fit girls I do like those sweaters that come to just under your chest though - they are not practical clothing, as why would you be wearing sleeves and bearing your entire stomach and covering your arms? But they are cute. They probably don't consider it as much, but that's just what's going to probably be what sets me against certain characters for no other reason. Even if it's not a flaw of their characterization and more a flaw in animation (because they don't care), it's not going to change that I'm still judging these things.
And I have never seen an attractive person in a drawing class (not that I've been in too many, but I've seen tons of pictures from drawing classes and I don't think EVERYONE is just making them ugly). At best I've seen average looking people. Sooooo I wouldn't set that as a standard for anything. If someone is really sexy, they can take it all off ^_~. If they aren't, they can dress accordingly and let the clothes make them look sexy. Clothes not being belly shirts, purple belly shirts with gold chains. It's like he's a metro pimp. I mean how did he even find that? It's illogical!
Haha, well I assume you also aren't a model, or working in the fashion industry. I guess he has to believe in his work right? ^_~.

I don't think I shall ever try to get through Inu Yasha. It's just not good enough for me to put up with more than ten volumes. I think Dark from D.N.Angel pulls off the purple hair well. That's the only male example I can think of off the top of my head: http://img3.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spire2/03132008/7/a/4/d/7a4d199c03fd80_full.pngI don't see the 'bellyshirts make you look fat thing,' but I'll trust your opinion on that, since you have the fashion friends and all. XD I still like me some bellyshirts though. Haha, I love how we can totally judge characters based solely on appearance and get away with it, because they're just cartoon characters and it doesn't matter. <3 Though I won't say we had any super hot models in life drawing, there were quite a few attractive ones. Probably like five attractive girls VS four unattractive girls and one attractive guy VS one unattractive guy and one I don't know what the heck he is because he's just weird guy. Though once again, none of them were like super models or anything. Just not bad on the eyes. And you'd be surprised how many people in life drawing manage to make people uglier than they are. One of the drawbacks of drawing people... Malik is just awesome and shops at Goodwill everyday to find his specific type of clothing. He's like... dedicated, man. Fair enough. XD

DAMN IT, I wrote this whole long reply, and then backspace moved the page, I HATE THAT. I HATE THIS LOANER COMPUTER!!!
1. I meant to put purple in the ( )'s with the pink, because yes, I agree that works too. It's strange, the only unnatural colors I like on male characters are not masculine colors, go figure ^_~.
2. Have you seen REAL people in belly shirts? Not anime characters, REAL people. I mean real people are probably why it turns me off so much in anime, not a good association. SF is one of the most progressive cities in the country I suppose, unfortunately, that has done hideous things to the fashion industry. People in belly shirts, and spandex! Leopard print spandex!!! They aren't unattractive people even, but the awful awful clothes ~_~. I mean if he'd just put like a black tank top or something underneath it, SOMETHING! It's friggin Japan anyhow. He covered up more to live in the freaking desert than he does when he leaves. I mean there aren't sand storms causing him to melt on top of a blimp!!!
3. Well when they are hanging the "best" of the drawings all over the art building and you see a similar theme you'd like to think there was some veracity to the art. Maybe CA is just full of ugly people. Actually, it kind of is, haha, outside of LA. Damn Hollywood ruining life for the normal people! It's funny, when you meet some people from other countries here, and they say things like "I thought people in CA were supposed to be attractive?" It's always an amusing conversation.
4. Haha, wasn't aware goodwill extended to Japan.
Things I never originally got to before I lost my comment anyhow:
1. Inuyasha was probably my first favorite anime series, so if I had the time I probably would do it, I just don't know when I'll get the time, and I would definitely have to find all the scans online because that's too big a financial investment.
2. I've been meaning to check DN Angel out, mostly because of attractive characters *sigh*, and a really epic AMV of the series at Y-con...any other selling points?

Stupid computer is fail... Ah, I see. XD Yes, feminine colors look good on guys. Red really does too. I've seen real people in bellyshirts, though it's actually pretty uncommon here, even though it seems like more people would do that in the heat. XD I've seen both unattractive and attractive in bellyshirts though, and I liked how the attractive looked. Anime characters look even better in them though, because, I mean, they're anime characters. They look better in everything. But I think Malik is just silly and wanted to show off his hot abs for Japan. XD Maybe your school just has ugly models. XD I mean, not a lot of people are willing to pose naked, so you tend to get the same models over and over again in one school. If you just happened to have an ugly group of models, then you could have all ugly pictures hung up. That is quite amusing though, silly foreign people. XD Goodwill extends everywhere. It's that badass. My first anime series was Sailor Moon, and I was obsessed with it for all of elementary school. Tenchi Muyo was my second, then Pokemon then DBZ. Around that time, I started getting into anime as a whole, and finding a bunch of others together, like Magic Knight Rayearth, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Yuu Yuu Hakusho. Inu Yasha was one of the ones I tried watching around that time, but just never got super into it, so yeah. Many other selling points to DNAngel. <3 It's yaoi-licious, (okay, well mostly hints, but still) has a deep plot that involves the occult and art, is quite dark, has a gorgeous opening theme and gorgeous animation, is a relatively short series (26 episodes), and has an insane father to a hot little nerd (my favorite character, Satoshi), that reminds me a lot of Gouzaburo and Kaiba. Observe: http://emceemartinezharrypotter.blog.friendster.com/files/dn-angel-opening_2_imagengrande.jpg I'm guessing you can figure out who's father and son. But yeah, the crazy father is insane and tortures his son and others. >D And here is the gorgeous opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1p8pi7FKQjg I do feel obligated to also list some drawbacks though: The story is pretty confusing because the anime doesn't explain it well (I heard it's handled much better in the manga, though I've only read the first volume), and it doesn't end in a way that feels like it actually ended. Also, the manga apparently continues after the end of the anime; I really need to get into that. There's also two little Mary Sue girls. The one with long hair is annoying as all hell, and is one of the few characters from any series ever I've decided that I completely and utterly hate and have actually tried hitting the computer screen in the hopes of hurting her. Her sister, the one with the short hair, isn't so bad. She's a cute and cool character in her own right, but the way she's always thrown into the plot and coupled with the main character is annoying, since neither she nor her sister actually have any contributions to the story besides just showing up at inconvenient times and being love interests for other characters.

Yup, if it's not my computer it's the internet. TECHNOLOGY HATES ME!! At least my phone wasn't stolen last night, I left it in my car and my car has been broken into before so yay!
I love red, but I also have a red/carrot-top fetish in real life. I wish I'd gotten my mom's red hair, or at least an auburn tint, I want some color damn it!
I dunno, even attractive people look bad in it to me, I just think it's bad fashion. Considering how many people were willing to run around campus naked I don't see why they won't go pose, haha. My friend's school had ugly models too, she used to complain about the old people they had to draw. They were sagging. I know Goodwill donates everyone, wasn't aware they franchised everyone, haha.
Mine were DBZ and Pokemon, than YYH - however I never thought about "anime" as this separate thing from cartoons back in middle school. Pokemon was more my brother's interest back then. I'd watch DBZ in the morning getting ready for school and YYH at night. It wasn't until about sophmore year of high school when I started watching Inuyasha that I started hearing of anime as an actual thing, but still, I didn't have friends who were into it. And then when boredom had me rewatching Pokemon on the WB, and YGO came on after, I got hooked into that. And I started watching FMA around Inuyasha and then anime became a thing - for me. Again it wasn't until college that it was even something I talked about, much less had friends who were into it. I absolutely adored YGO though, started it during the tail end of DK, very beginning of BC. When swim season for HS started up junior year I stopped with Pokemon (as I had seen it) but I started recording YGO. Up until then I had been thinking "I watch this because it's after Pokemon." But then I had to realize, well now I'm going out of my way to tape this and I don't even tape Pokemon. Thus love was understood ^_^.
I have heard that it has hints, so hooray for that. And assuming that's Satoshi, just on looks, reminding me more of Noa, hahaha. I'll try to find time to give the anime a shot since it's short, if not maybe I'll just head straight to the manga - which is what I do more often than not lately. It's what I did with Death Note, Vampire Knight, a couple of other series that I won't even try to spell. Gravitation I started with the manga, got really confused, and watched the anime before returning to the manga (now less confused). It mighta been a weird translation which was confusing me, not sure, but after seeing the anime it was a lot easier to get through.
I hate how anime gets ahead of the manga and does soemthing completely different. Like Inuyasha, and the original FMA, kind of neat that they are remaking it now. I mean YGO has all that filler in the anime but I like most of it so in some ways I'd prefer going off in a different direction rather than inventing an end. Although I get how most series aren't funded well enough. It's still frustrating.
Ok my internet has been good thus far, so let's see if I can get through this video...after I submit this...just in case ^_~.
EDIT
AH PURPLE HAIR GUY IS SO PRETTY!!!
