Amara watched as the young girl passed her and Yamen, waiting until she was out of sight to answer.

"Try not to start a war, alright?" She said softly.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 22, 2017 12:34 pm

Yamen gave a small smile.

“Like I’d ever do something like that.” Turning away from her, he walked into the guild arena, the massive central area of the guild where members could train, and where tournaments and competitions were held. It was also the place where most of the guild meetings were held on account of its auditorium like qualities. As he reached the entrance, he looked back at Amara and signaled her to bring Rin. He then stepped into the massive stadium, and the shouts and protests began.

§

Yamen walked back out of the arena and leaned against the wall. Rin followed closely behind him. The meeting had proceeded in a similar fashion to the one that had been held that morning, just with a greater amount of unhappy players, and an overall more intense atmosphere. He looked at the small white haired girl with tired eyes and gave a weak smile.

“Well, that wasn’t so bad. If they don’t burn me at the stake tonight, I think things will be better in the morning.” Rin looked at the floor and rubbed her arm absently.

“Why don’t I just leave the guild? I appreciate that you are willing to stick your neck out for me and all, but I just started this game. I won’t be hurt if I don’t belong in this guild. Maybe when I’m stronger I can enter it the right way. If everyone is so upset about my being here,” she paused for a moment. “I just don’t want to cause any trouble.” A low sight eschaped Yamens throat and he sank to the ground, sliding down the wall in a controlled descent. His hair fell in front of his eyes slightly, and he remained motionless for the span of a few seconds before looking back up at Rin.

“Yeah, I suppose that you could do that….but I’d rather you stay.” Rin looked at him with a perplexed gaze.

“But why?” Yamen ran his hands through his hair and looked up at her again. He signaled for her to take a seat next to him, and after a moment’s hesitation, she too took her place on the ground.

“It’s not really my style, but I want to tell you a little story. Some of the other guild members don’t even know what I’m about to tell you, so I’d appreciate you not mentioning this to anyone else.” The room fell silent for what seemed an eternity before Rin slowly nodded. Yamen responded in kind and took a deep breath in. “I want to tell you about our former Princess of Crestfallen. Her name was Sentina Anshee, and she was simultaneously one of the kindest and most heartless people you would ever meet. I won’t sully her name to much, but Sentina was nothing if not manipulative and resourceful. Most of the guild never saw the darker side of her personality, so all they knew was the kindness that she had. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that everyone in the guild loved her. She was not only one of the strongest members of the guild, but she was also one of the most popular. In any case, when she left Crestfallen, it created a wound that still hasn’t healed. Even though most people have moved on for appearance sake, they are still mourning her loss in their hearts. The only way that the guild will be able to fully move on is if they have a new Princess to love. I truly believe that that could be you, Rin.” Rin’s eyes widened as she heard the story, and she looked down at the floor when he finished.

“Yamen, I had no idea that something like that had gone on.” Yamen sighed and leaned his head back against the wall.

“I know you didn’t, and I wasn’t going to tell you. There’s a lot more to the story, but it’s not relevant to the conversation here and now. What is relevant is that you have a chance to help this guild in a way that no one else could.” He took a deep breath in and slowly exhaled. “Don’t let it stress you out, though. Just be yourself. If you try to be something that you’re not, it won’t work anyway.” He rose to his feet and dusted himself off. “You don’t have to decide right now, but just think about it.” He took a few steps away from her before he was stopped by her voice.

“Yamen…..I’ll stay.”

“Good, then you best get some rest tonight. IF you are going to stay in Crestfallen, you are going to have to shape up and get stronger. The levels are up to you, but as for improving your technique….well, I’ll be handling that personally.” A sudden wave of fear washed over her, and she took a silent breath in. “Meet me in the arena tomorrow morning at eight. We’ll get started right away.” Beginning to walk once again, he left her sitting alone in the large hall. She swallowed the large lump that had formed in the back of her throat, and as she rose to her feet, a single bead of sweat rolled down her forehead.

§

Shiro sat in a massive stone throne in the back of the secret room in the Caveat guild hall. It was a massive open space that was built into the wall of the Town of Beginnings. The entire space was composed of a translucent black glass which gave the appearance of the entire room being devoid of space. All within gained the uneasy sense that they were floating in a plane of endless darkness. The only source of illumination were dozens of Azure fires that burned in ornate, onyx lamps, the crowns of which were spiked with razor sharp metal spikes. His elbow rested on the arm of the throne, and his head, in turn, rested on his clenched fist.

A young, feminine voice echoed throughout the hall. It was a somewhat grating tone, infused with malice and hints of madness. A smile could clearly be heard in its cadence, and though it also had a chilling nature, there was something seductive and soothing about it at the same time.

“It seems that someone is searching for you, Master Shiro.” His eyes traveled across the expansive space until his gaze fell on a young girl who sat in the corner, looking at a small menu. She was a girl of average stature, with long blue hair that streamed down to the middle of her back. The bangs were arranged in such a way that they completely obscured her left eye, and hid the majority of that side of her face from view. Her eyes were of a mysterious nature, appearing both sinister and surreal at the same time. A haziness veiled them, not such as the blind have, but clouded, and far from the crisp clarity that most avatars possessed. Her skin was of a pale, porcelain hue, and her mouth was twisted into a sultry, somewhat seductive grin. About her body, she wore a long shouldered cape of the deepest navy. It extended over her shoulders and and down her back reaching nearly to the floor. Chains extended from this garment and hung not only on the outside, but on the inside of the cape as well. Two of these chains stretched up her arms and fastened to thick shackles that were around her wrists. It was clearly evident that these chains were not affixed to the cape as the others were, but were rather connected to each other, forming a long reaching set of restraints. Mirror shackles were connected to her ankles. In both cases, the chains were long enough that they were greater than the span of her arms and legs, preventing them from obscuring her movement in any way. It was not immediately clear what purpose they served. Perhaps they were to be utilized in combat for some offensive or defensive strategy, or perhaps they were merely present for fashion. Long eyelashes extended from her peculiar eyes, and if not for her ghostly, unnerving presence, she would have been a thoroughly attractive young girl.

A thin smile formed on Shiro’s face, and he sat up a little straighter. His deep, smooth voice seemed to flow over the glassy room, easily reaching every corner.

“Good, then it looks like Kaiyaga did his job. Hiroku has started to search for me at last.”

“What would you have me to do about this? Should I track down and kill whoever it is that is searching? That ought to catch his interest?” The young girl erupted in a fit of crazed and cackling laughter as she finished speaking, and Shiro waved her off with a smile.

“That won’t be necessary, Enshira. Let’s just wait and see what happens. It’s always so much more fun to see how these things play out naturally. Besides, we need to focus on bringing in the next member of our little group.” As he spoke, Shiro opened a menu and began typing a quick message. After completing it, he sent if off before returning to his former position. “Let the games continue.”

§

Kaiyaga downed the last of his beer, taking the final swig as an alert popped up, notifying him of a new message. Ccasually, he glanced at the sender, rolling his eyes slightly.

“Well, well, what does my benevolent benefactor want this time?” His eyes scanned the message for a few moments before he rose to his feet and closed the menu. “Well, alright then. This should be fun.” He placed his hand in his pockets and laid down a few COR on the table as a tip.

The evening air was cool as he stepped out of the Inn where he had been drinking. The gentle hum of the city gave a peaceful sound to the Town of Beginnings, and he closed his eyes, taking it all in as he walked. He made his way to the river front where he stopped and typed out a quick message. It read, “Hey, kiddo, meet me on the River front outside the Candelon Boutique in the Town of Beginnings. I have new orders for you.” As he sent it off, he gave a short laugh.

“So much for a peaceful vacation.”

Eve made her way down the large mountain and through the massive field in silence. Her heart and mind racing from her prior interaction with Shiro. The young girl made her way slowly through the field and to the town in bliss.

Her mind was filled with ever growing thoughts of shiro as the fantasies played through her mind as was typical of a girl her age. She reached the towns teleport gate and used it to transport herself to the town of beginnings.

Eve's elation was short lived however. No sooner had she appeared in the town when a notice of a new message greeted her. Immediately the young girl reached out, opening the mail with excitement. Her face twisted into a mirrior of disgust almost instantly as her eyes fell on the senders name.

"Oh great.. I get to meet with Shiro and then you of all people have to message me? Why now?"

Eve let out a soft moan and slowly made her way toward the Candelon Boutique 's water front. It took her a full five minutes more then it should have to reach her destination and as she rounded the corner, the tall man from early that morning came into view. Another moan escaped her lips as she walked up to join him.

"You called?" She asked, clearly unhappy.

A devious smile played out over Kaiyaga’s face.

“Don’t look so excited to see me, kiddo. Your benevolent overloard issued new orders for you, and he asked that I hand deliver them to you.” It was clear that he was keenly aware of the annoyance that flooded Eve’s system, and though it was not extremely evident, he was clearly enjoying it. “Cheer up though, princess, you actually get to kill some PK’ers tonight. Caveat has been tracking a group of players that have made the jump into full time killers. Shiro wants you to take them down.” The tall man quickly navigated through several menus, forwarding Eve the list of names that she was to locate. “The good news for you is that we did most of the work for you already. We leaked some information to them that there were a group of players that were going to be training in one of the fields on the third floor tonight. The general consensus of the group was that they were going to hunt down and PK those players. All you have to do is save them. Of course, you took your sweet fat time getting here, so you will really have to get moving if you want to stop them before the innocent PC’s die.”

Eve's eyes narrowed.

"Why didn't you tell me it was urgent? We can't let those players die so where am I headed?" Her tone had lost the irritation and moved to concern.

Kaiyaga leaned down closer to Eve’s height and placed a hand on her head.

“Don’t worry, kiddo. There’s no way that I’d put them in any real danger. They should be fine for at least another few minutes. However, this should be a lesson that you shouldn’t keep people waiting. You never know why they are calling to you.” He rose back to his full height and looked out over the gently flowing water. “In any case, they are in the fields of floor three. They are still pretty low level, so I don’t think they will make it too deep into the floor. Try looking from the air. You’re bound to find them eventually.”

Eve gave a quick nod and turned to leave.

"Thanks for the information." She called back as she took off running toward the teleport gate.

Eve appeared in the teleport gate plaza located in Zumfut, the hub town of the third floor. A small frow spread across eve's face as she took off running through the town and met a wall of thick fog upon exiting. The young girl hesitated only a moment before taking to the sky as she soared out into the field, soon vanishing into the dense fog that covered the floor.

As Eve’s eyes scanned the landscape below, she saw nothing. There was a massive expanse of land, but it seemed relatively empty. A few creates scurried here or there, but it was otherwise silent. This continued for a few minutes until at last her eyes fell on a group of four players who were huddled against a large rock. A larger group of six people stood around them, their weapons drawn, though held in relaxed positions.

Eve frowned, letting her wings vanish as she dropped into the mist a few feet away from the group, hesitating before she attacked to listen to the groups conversation and confirm her target.

The players that were standing looked down at the others with sneers and wide grins.

“Come on, you guys. There’s no reason to be scared. After all, we are just gonna have some fun with ya.” Another one chimed in, a cruel laugh present in his voice.

“Yeah, we’re going to have a party.”

“Please, you don’t have to do this. We’ve got money. We’ll pay what you’re asking for.” The man that had first spoken raised an eyebrow and spit in disgust.

“Well, ain’t that noble, but we don’t want you to give us your money. We can just take that off your corpse when you’re dead.”

Eve's face twisted in disgust. The young girl let out a soft breath before leaning forward slightly as she drew her twin short swords. A moment later she vanished, leaving only a bit of swirling mist to betray her former location. Her first target was the man that had spoken last. Eve came in low, her insane speed allowing her to close the distance to her target within moments. Her blades flashed forward as she struck the man at the base of the spine and tore straight up with both daggers. The girl never slowed down as she reached the top of her jump, the daggers tearing out her targets shoulders, affording them a moment of freedom before she came back down with the blades, aiming at the mans face, should he still have any HP left.

The man barely had time to scream before he collapsed to the ground, exploding into a thousand shards of light. The others stood in horror and surprise as they looked at the mysterious assailant that had appeared out of nowhere. This shock lasted for only a moment before they burst forth, their weapons flying at Eve from all directions.

A small smile spread across the girls face as she stepped back slightly, allowing two of the attacks to miss her by mere centimeters. The others she blocked with her blades, twisting almost as soon as the metals collided as she allowed the attacks to pass down her blade and gain a bit of distance on her assailants.

"Come on guys, you are going to have to be faster then that if you want to kill me. I'm just one little girl after all." She said, her tone light and happy.

As she spoke her blade's flashed out again, this time aiming to carve a deep X into one of her opponents chests.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 04, 2017 7:51 pm

The man was unable to do anything to stop her, and the blades cleaved easily through him. He too shattered into countless particles of light.

“You are indeed just a little girl, but it is foolish to underestimate someone just based off of their size or appearance.” The voice that spoke chilled the blood in Eve’s veins. It was deep and gravely, though there was a sense of refinement and posh to it. Her eyes slowly traveled around until she was able to see a tall man standing behind the players that she had come to save. Three of the four lay on the ground, and the young girl of the group was held up by the tall man, his sword pressed closely against her kneck. He wore a long, fir trimmed coat, a gentleman’s hat, and black dress gloves. A small amount of stubble adorned his chin, though he was otherwise prim and put together. “Now then, my dear. If you’d please put down the weapon, we can talk this out like civilized adults. I can’t allow you to cut down any more of my subordinates, now can I?”

Eve's eyes narrowed but after a moment she dropped her blades, letting them clatter to the ground at her sides.

"There, I did as you asked. Now let the girl go." Her tone was frustrated but respectful as she spoke to the man before her.
