>>by the time Tryan gets exhausted so do the children. Or tired enough to form a pile around Tryan. A giggling, squirming pile.

Silver returns with a lively Isaac and takes a seat letting Tryan rest.<<
Did you UBS fun?

Tryan wiggled around enough to get a good look at Silver over the pile of cubs. He didn't understand her question, but he was intrigued by Isaac. He was so small. His tail flopped back and forth as he thought about going to investigate, but he didn't have the energy, so he just put his head down again with a sigh.

>>one by one the cubs parents came and took their little ones for nap. When Tryan was by himself silver approached him.<<

I need to get things ready for when we leave. Would you like to help?
PostPosted: Mon Apr 02, 2012 7:41 pm

Tryan was a little anxious when the first of the adults came by and would have jumped up if it wouldn't have unsettled so many of the cubs piled very nearly right on top of him. After several of them came by only to retrieve their children and leave again, he began to relax again. By the time the last of them had been picked up and Silver came up to him, he was resting quietly but wide awake. He looked up at her, missing most of what she said, but understanding a word or two. Whatever she wanted, he wasn't doing anything else anyway, so he stood up and waited for her to lead the way.

>>Silver handed Tryan a bit of bread to munch on before leading him into the woods to collect herbs and flowers and barks that would help with her healing if it was needed. All the time chatting to Tryan and either having Isaac in a sling in front or back of her or balancing him on her hip. He didn't like staying in position for longer than 10 or 15 minutes when he was awake<<

We're going on a very dangerous trip. It seems odd to say this, but we're going to save the world. Odd indeed isn't it? I've never thought of myself as some kind of hero. I'm just a healer and a conduit to the Goddess.
But I can't let Ontaros go on his own. Though I hate the thought of leaving Isaac behind.
.......
I wish we had mug-wart, but it's not the right season for it. Oh well, this hinkleberry will do just fine. Speaking of berries have you ever mashed them up and had them over ice? Oh that is a yummy treat. Ontaros's is probably the only place around that has ice all the time and all you could ever need. It must be magic.
.......
This river is along a salmon spawning trail. I'll have to bring you by in the right seasons. You like fish right? Oh look! There's a fish now! >>laughs<<

Tryan swallowed the bread whole and happily pranced along beside her. He periodically wandered off a short distance, exploring their surroundsings and entertaining himself with this or that. Every now and again he would suddenly stop and put his nose to the ground, ears standing on end. He would wait a moment, claw at the earth for a moment and stuff his nose back down in the dirt. Sometimes he would keep digging, sometimes he would jump forward and race about in a surprisingly fast shuffle, chasing something that couldn't be seen, and leaving little furrows as he went. Once he caught a mole that way. But otherwise his chases were fruitless.
---
When he wasn't busy chasing unseen prey, he followed her about, watching her, and listening to her. Sometimes he would go up to a particular plant with her and inspect it as she gathered what parts she needed. Once or twice he tried to eat one of them, but quickly learned that he was not fond of leafy things.
---
He followed next to nothing of what she said, but understood from her body language and her tone that she was calling his attention to something. He stared out at the water for several moments, very still. Lowering his head a little, he crept up on the water's edge and peered in. Then, without warning, he backed up a little, gathered his haunches underneath him, and launched himself out over - and ultimately into - the middle of the river. There was nothing gracefull about him, but he returned to the surface unharmed several moments later. He was fish-less. He continued to swim about, splashing, and generally making a spectacle of himself. Eventually, he did actually manage to catch a small fish and dragged it ashore with him only to swallow it whole right there.
His fur and feathers were water resistant, but not enough to handle a stint in the water at length. He was soaked, his coat plastered to his body, his tail and ears drooping with the weight of their saturated fur and feathers. His wings were a mess all over again, the primaries dragging in the dirt, the ends of his wings too heavy to hold up off the ground while walking. The fact that he hadn't drowned was rather a mystery.

>>Silver watched Tryan, eventually moving to sit on a rock in the shallows where her feet could dangle in. She kept Isaac out of the water while Tryan hunted though. It wouldn't be nice to scare away his fishies. She laughed as he came out<<

Oh Tryan. how do you swim? Here let me- >>She was about to use wind magic to dry him off before remember he didn't react well to magic<< Never mind. Want to head back? We should get you something to dry off with and maybe some supper.

He attempted to raise his ears at the sound of his name, but they only twitched at best. He gave himself a mighty shake, like back at the baths, and trotted over to her, waiting, as usual, for her to take the lead. If he had any incling(sp) that she had been about to use magic, it didn't show.

>>Silver patted Tryan on the head then headed back towards the village. The sky was getting dark by the time they arrived. Tryan was now just damp and not complete soaked, but Silver still sat Isaac down on the bed and toweled Tryan off.
She then went about prepairing dinner. Working with Tyera to train she had spent too much time at the castle and not enough time in her own hut. It felt good to cook. She hummed or sang random snatches of songs while she cooked<<

Tryan hesitated to enter at first, and then when he finally did, did so with his usual extreme caution. He soon got over his paranoia though and was as curious as ever and spent a good enough amount of time exploring her home. Interestingly, this he managed to do with a minimum of disruption and mess making. When his curiosity of his surroundings was satisfied, he moved on to watching her cook, though he kept a safe distance from anything hot.

(( Whatever! I don't care what season it is! We're having the food I make. ))

>>Dinner wasn't complex so was set in no time. Yes there was a table, but there were also big fluffy pillows and warm blankets strewn around a low lying table and that is where Silver set the meal. She put Isaac on a pillow next to her and let him suck on a berry. Dinner was fish jerky, a summer salad, and a bowl of berries sprinkled lightly with sugar<<

Time to eat Tryan.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 05, 2012 7:50 pm

Tryan joined her at the table but hesitated again. He looked down at the food and waited to see her start first. After a moment or two he flopped down on the floor with them and started gnawing on fish and swallowing berries whole, but he kept well away from the salad. He'd been eating so much since he got back that even as little as he ate for supper now, it was making him sleepy.

Not use to three meals a day? Well that's fine. I don't have a spare bed, when there is a visitor they sleep under the stars or we make a pile, but I'm sure here will be comfortable enough for you. Let me just move the table after I feed Isaac.

>>Silver grabs one of the blankets to drape over herself for modesty and takes care of her child, then her guest. She does some house hold chores like drying herbs, checking on preserves, making sure she has enough water for breakfast tomorrow, then settles down to make Isaac some cloths, he's just about out grown these already. He's growing faster than any pop Silver's seen. She tried not to worry about it<<

Tryan listened to her from his spot on the floor but made no move to get up. In a short while, long before she was done with her chores, he was already fast asleep, curled up on the floor.

>>Silver slept fitfully, so was up before Tryan making a porridge with honey and yogurt for breakfast. There was also goats milk to drink. Live stock was mostly communally owned, but being the MoonChild she had her own goat and two chickens.

She didn't want to wake Tryan, but eating cold porridge wasn't very appetizing in her opinion. So she just went about her work as the food cooked<<
