Loki Fenrisulf
...A copy of Masamune? Really?
When you do it with Aeris still with you you get her best weapon, but since I didn't get it I can't say if you may be mistaking it for this copy of Masamune you said...
Maybe it is shown in the house you can get...

What do you mean "the house you can get"? are you talking about the Vila ?

Another thing... It may be old but, when areith dies why can't cloud and the other use the revive materia? is it because of the sword sephiroth uses?

When Aeris died, she was dead. The materia revive and phoenix down can only be used when one is fainted. I KNOW it sucks!!!!

...and it is kinda weird how people survive much worse things than that through the game... Well, in another FF there was a man who died after a battle because kept fighting too much even after taking lots of damage with less than 0hp, but that's something different...
I heard it had something to do with her not wanting to be healed, because Holy needed her soul to help it save the world...

But why not tell us that during the game or have some kinda cutscene later on telling us that she didn't want to be revived? i understand that the earth needed all the energy it could get to heal itself. what happens to jenovas energy? does it go to the earth as well? if thats the case, why fight jenova during the game when its energy will just go to sephiroth?...suppose they didn't know till later. so what does HP represent? if they run out how come they dont disappeer like the enemies? why am i asking so many questions? (LOL... sorry cry )

Well, FF7 has lots of deeper-meaning things... some things where actually supposed to only be supposed, instead of understood...
I thought Jenova's energy would be absorbed by the planet, becoming a usual lifestream after her death, but Advent Children tells us that the planet tries to get rid of Jenova's energy, probably sending it to the space... In fact, the Geostigma is the body trying to get rid of the energy that was able to mix with the lifestream of the person, either by beign injected by Jenova's cells, or by receiving from the planet energy that still had remaining Jenova energy.
HP is their counsciousness, their strengh to keep fighting (not will). If they lose all their hp, it doesn't mean they died, only they are out of energy and fainted (but of course, many one-hit-ko attacks seem like they would actually kill the person). Galuf, for example, only died FFV because his will made him fight much after his hp was over, making him too weak to survive after the battle. But enemies usually actually die, so they become pure energy and go back to the lifestream.
Because learning from someone who already knows is the second best way to learn something, behind only experimentation and observation (aka scientific method)?

sorry im asking some seeminly stupid questions that could probably be answered somewhere else on the internet but...

why do people spell Aeris "Aerith"? and how do you prounounce it?

again im sorry for these pointless questions...
PostPosted: Thu Feb 07, 2008 11:38 pm

Because the name actually was supposed to be "Aerith", so that when you mix the letters you get "I Earth", but while translating it ended beign Aeris, because (or so I heard) the sound of the "th" in japanese is like the one of "s". It makes sense if you pay attention to the chorus of Sephiroth's musics, it call him "Sephiros".
So I believe the name is actually pronnounced "Aeris".

Actually, almost every Final Fantasy has an enemy called Ultima Weapon, and an actual weapon called Ultima.

really? i thought only FF7 had WEAPON monsters!! well what about omega weapon? i don't think it was in FF7?

This is what I took from wikipedia:

Ultima Weapon and Omega Weapon in Monsters of Final Fantasy:
Quote:
The Weapon or Ultimate creatures and Omega are entities (some biomechanical and others entirely organic) in the Final Fantasy series. They have been a main feature in the series since the fifth installment. They are generally very powerful and have massive amounts of hit points, sometimes numbering in the millions, and are usually presented as powerful optional superbosses.

Weapons have appeared in the first Final Fantasy of Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, the Game Boy Advance remake of Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XI, Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy: Unlimited, and Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales. WarMech, a powerful and rare enemy from the NES Final Fantasy I, shares characteristics with Weapon.

'Omega' and 'Ultima' (sometimes 'Ultimate') weapons are more often than not side quests that can be followed late into the games. Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VI are two of the few titles in the series that breaks this rule as the player has to fight the Ultimate Weapon in order to progress the story.

Ultima Weapon will generally drop (or lead to) one of the most powerful weapons available in the game. Final Fantasy XII varies slightly, with Omega MK XII dropping a medallion that, when sold with two others, allows the player to buy one of the most powerful swords in the game through the bazaar, while Ultima is the name of one of the most powerful summons in the game.

In the US version of Final Fantasy VI on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (released as 'Final Fantasy III'), the name of the 'Ultima Weapon' was translated to 'Atma' in English. Final Fantasy X-2's character viewer reflects this factoid when viewing the monster 'Ultimate Weapon'. In Final Fantasy X, the hardest boss in the game, the Nemesis Weapon, can be created in the monster arena, its appearance similar to the Ultima and Omega Weapons. Other distinctive Weapons besides Ultima and Omega can be found in Final Fantasy VII.

Weapons in Final Fantasy 7:
Quote:
In the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, there are seven Weapon (also spelled WEAPON): Jade Weapon, Sapphire Weapon, Ultimate Weapon, Diamond Weapon, Emerald Weapon, Ruby Weapon, and Omega Weapon. Unlike many games in the series, the Weapon play a major role in the Final Fantasy VII storyline. According to the game, these entities were created by the Planet as self-defense mechanisms to deal with the threat of Jenova, with the exception of Omega, whose purpose is evacuation. However, once Jenova was contained by the Cetra, the Weapon were no longer needed and entered hibernation beneath the ice at the Northern Crater. Thousands of years later, during the games events when Meteor is summoned by Sephiroth, the other fighting Weapon are activated to fulfill the reason of their existence: protecting the Planet by targeting every potential threat to it and "reducing everything to nothingness". Unfortunately, Sephiroth created the barrier on the Northern Cave to keep the Weapon from him. The WEAPON are intent to send all souls back to the Lifestream to strengthen it in order to help survive the coming destruction by Meteor.

Only three Weapon creatures were featured in the original Japanese release of Final Fantasy VII; these were the Sapphire, Diamond, and Ultimate Weapon, although others such as the Emerald and Ruby Weapon are briefly visible in the cinematic in which the Weapon are released. The Western release (and the later International release) added the Ruby and Emerald Weapon as optional battles, as well as a mandatory battle against the Diamond Weapon. The Sapphire Weapon is destroyed by Shinra's Sister Ray cannon at Junon after the monster emerged from the ocean and attacked the town. AVALANCHE fight the Diamond Weapon when it emerges from the ocean near Midgar and threatens the city before it is ultimately finished off, again by the Shinra and their Sister Ray (now located at Midgar). AVALANCHE also have one mandatory fight against Ultimate Weapon in Mideel but are unable to destroy it before it flies away. They have the option to chase it down and fight it several times before it is finally brought down near Cosmo Canyon, with the resulting impact crater allowing access on foot to the nearby Ancient Forest. The Emerald and Ruby Weapons are both optional battles and pose as the strongest monsters in the game (significantly stronger than the final Sephiroth bosses). The Emerald Weapon resides under the sea, and is ready to attack when you first get the submarine, and the Ruby Weapon resides in the desert surrounding the Gold Saucer, but only appears in Disk 3.

Jade Weapon is chronologically the first to be activated, as a result of the events of Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII. The final Weapon, Omega Weapon, is awakened three years after the destruction of Meteor; its purpose is to serve as an "ark" for the Planet's life, absorbing all its Lifestream and setting off to space to avoid a huge calamity.

An innactive and unnamed Weapon can also be seen in the Banora Village Underground in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, though it appears to exist only as an easter egg at this time.
