Still quite a distance behind the other woman, Sophy followed her through the general check-in. Technically she was not allowed through here - her pilot's license had been confiscated along with her ship - but it had not taken her long to pick the pocket of an officious-looking man from town who had a lot higher security clearance than her anyway. She slipped past the sign-in desk and ducked under the scanners, trusting that the crowds were large enough to screen her from anybody who might be watching. She noticed someone else approaching the woman she was following and melted away further into the crowd. This was relatively easy considering she was significantly shorter than most of the hybrids around her; keeping an eye on the woman over their heads was considerably more difficult.

After a few moments, James made to stride past a guard, who put his hand out, "Excuse me sir, you cannnot enter Laria with a weapon. I'll have to confiscate it."
Turning his head slightly to fix a single eye on him with a piercing glare, Stratford slid a hand into his pocket and drew out his permit. "This says different." He replied in a voice that possibly froze people nearby.
The guard peered at it, then shrugged, "Rules are rules. Your gun please, sir." he replied, then blinked as he found the barrell in his face.
"You wanna take it, son?" the cold voice enquired softly, "And make your wife lonely?"
The guard shook his head and lowered his hand slowly. "Welcome to Laria," he murmered to the Captain, who was already pacing down the deck and past check in. He never had anything to declare, besides a large amount of bordom. Skidding to a stop, James waited for the teleport car. He'd tried to walk once, but nearly got run over, so now he'd learnt to ride it.

The crowed got larger, so she parked her speeder. "Hey," Came a rough voice behind her. She turned to see a gaurd. "You can't park there. Only gaurds can." Nonah pressed gold in his hand, and he simply nodded. Nonah couldn't find the girl she was following, so, she decided to earn a bit of money. "Step right up!" She boomed. "Come see a human fire eater! The best you'll find! Just a few pices of gold to see a fantastic show!" About 20 different species gave up what little gold they gad, so She put on a geat show. Nonah made little flying embers in the shapes of butterflys fly around childeren. She then made small fire works for the adults. "Ha Ha! The best in town, no?" The little crowd cheered wildly as Nonah created a large blue firework.

Arianeira lost sight of the woman she was following in the large crowd. She decided it wasn't that important to her to shove through the large alien mob that appeared to be trying to watch some sort of show behind her. She allowed herself to be pushed along by the crowd back towards the desks. She moved on, approaching the teleport cars. The man checking permits recognised her and grinned. "Back again Sophy?" He asked jovially. She nodded and he waved her through the doors to one of the cars without asking for her permit. He knew as well as she did why she was still on the planet.

Stratford nodded slightly to the man as he stepped into a teleport car after a young woman. He'd noted, with dry amusement, that she'd remained unchecked. Pausing in the door, John flashed his old military service card, then stepped into the car, taking a seat in a corner.

((I don't know if you guys know what redwall is, but its a book series with small mamals. Anyway, I'm going to talk from now on in hare speak))
She smiled. "Thankyou, now, fellow species." She spoke clearly. "Thats all for t'day, folks." The all left chattering loudly as Nonah counted her new found gold. Nonah noticed that during her show, a man was following a woman. "Eh?" Was all she said to herself. "Thats the gel I was afollowin. Huh," She put her savings in a pouch and went to the teleport car. "ID please," Said the gaurd. She found it and swiped it, then took a seat behind the girl.

Arianeira carefully took stock of the other passengers as they arrived. There was a couple of regulars before her that she was on nodding terms with but the man who got in after her was unfamiliar. Probably new then. She thought. She was quite surprised when she also recognised the last passenger who climbed in just when the doors were closing. It was the woman who had spoken to the woman she had been following. Arianeira's interest was caught and as the woman sat behind her, Arianeira shifted her posture slightly so that her back was to the wall. Piracy was not a very honourable profession and she had seen first-hand the results of leaving your back exposed to anyone. The cable car moved off and Arianeira slouched back comfortably in her seat, miming laziness but with her hand within easy distance of her weaponry.

Nonah looked up at the girl and decided, from the bored look on her face, to have a bit of convertsation. "Good day, isn't it, m'gel?" Nonah asked.She hoped it was friendlly enough, because nonah isn't normaly friendly. "I'm a fire eater, ya know?"

Arianeira nodded absently, wondering how she could steer the conversation round to get information that may prove useful later. "I saw some of the display." She said lightly.

Captain Stratford snorted softly from the back of the car as he heard the conversation. "We all saw. So did the thiefs who picked quite a few pockets while you inadvertedly distracted the crowd," Stratford said in a mildly amused tone, that took little of the icy edge in his voice. What he didn't add was that he himself had taken a few credits himself. Credits were accepted everywhere, and therefore made a useful fall back fund. His ship had a shrinking ray in a safe, that had allowed him to store a very large store of said money.

Nonah glared at this new guy. "Thifes, old chap? Now their are going to be thifes, and I'm one of 'em," she declared, tossing him a gold currencey. She tossed one to the woman too. "Have a good ole time." She laughed to herself.

Captain Stratford raised an eyebrow, "Who said I was so honest myself?" He asked, catching the coin, inspecting it, then tossing it back. Reaching into his pocket, he drew out a wedge of credits, "I should thank you, I supose." He growled, leaning forwards to allow them to hear him easier, "In thanks, I'll give you my name. You'd be surprised what doors it opens. Its Stratford. James Stratford, formerly of the FEN Invigousaumact, ship of the Former Earth Navy."
[500 gold to whoever can tell me what the latin word means. 3nodding ]

"FEN Invigousaumact? I say, old chap, interesting lot, that one is. Well, I'm Nonah." She guestured to herself proudly. "Pro fire-eater and this," she said, as a pale brown Pine Martin crawled sleepily to her shoulder from her bag, "Is Whenevae." she gave the martin a piece of beef jerky.

Arianeira concealed her surprise as the woman tossed her a gold coin and the two other passengers exchanged pleasantries. She inwardly sighed. They were obviously not pirates or from the area or else they would know that the whole port was swarming with informers. She was interested when the man revealed his name though; strangely, she had heard of him. She wondered where she had heard it and thought that maybe it was because one of the crews she had been with had run up against him at some point. She considered it but couldn't recall any of the details. It was regrettable but as she was unwilling to share her own reputation with them - after all either of them could be an informer - she smiled lightly and tossed the coin back. "I have my own code of honour." She didn't mention that as a pirate it was probably looser than theirs but left it open to interpretation. She knew most people would assume by it that she was honest. She grinned inwardly. As if. "Arianeira El'Kara." She added as an afterthought, watching as the car about five in front reached the exit.

Captain Stratford nodded slightly to Arianeira, before stating "I've heard of you." I want to have, I was ordered to chase your ship for months, although I pretended not to get the order. Your file was very unusual. He looked around, aware from how someone was watching him, that the man was clearly an informer. Leaning closer, he smiled friendily, "Hows your children, Mr. Vodafone?" he asked softly. The man turned pale, then nodded, "Fine, thank you." he muttered, looking away. Leaning back upright, Stratford noted the pods straightening to make ready to dock. He stood in preperation. "Perhaps we shall meet again" he said, then held out two cards, one each. It offered his communication frequency, and the name of his ship. "In case you need help, or back up." he stated, striding to the now opening doors, and leaving through them. He looked up as he heard a smooth female voice whispering "Welcome to planet Laria"
