Looks like everyone's putting up their top...whatever number of faves...I was never really one to follow the crowd, but, so as not to break up the discussion, here goes...
Otoko 1. Hiwatari Kai 2. Mizuhara Max 3. Rei Kon 4. Yuriy Ivanov (Tala) 5. Boris Kuznetsov (Bryan)
Onna 1. Mao Chou (Mariah) 2. Julia 3. Emily (I know she has a last name; I just forgot what it was) 4. Mariam 5. Tachibana Hiromi (Hilary)
Okay, explanations just in case you're wondering, especially for the female list. - I tried my best to rank the characters by: a. similarity in portrayal between manga and anime; b. attractive quality; c. character development in both manga and anime; and d. overall personality. Some may not have been ranked properly according to the given criteria, but sometimes one can't help but be biased/play favorites. - Hiromi is ranked only at #5 because, frankly, she's an OC created specifically for the anime, which gives me nothing to compare for the 'similarity in portrayal' thing. Also, her character development was pretty abrupt, in my opinion.
Okay, well, there you go. Feel free to discuss; I'm open-minded enough.

*is confused* I have...good lists? What makes you say that? confused
Anyway, reading the manga is really fun; there are some parts that aren't in the anime, so it's a nice surprise finding out about them. Like the fact that Kai isn't orphaned, his mother's a nameless, useless being (she showed up only once or twice in the 3rd volume), and that Kai's dad's name is Susumu. 3nodding

I read Vol. 1 and 3 in the bookstore, but didn't buy them (no cash to buy volume 1, but had cash for volume 3 - I'm still wondering why I didn't buy it...). The volumes I have in my possession are volumes 2, 4-6, and 14.
:O That's a pretty big jump. xd

I sorta knew what had happened in between volumes, anyway. Such as the 'V-Force Arc' in the manga lasting only two or three volumes starting with Vol. 7, and then Rei losing his bit beast in Volume 8 (and gaining Driger back a chapter or two later), and then Team BEGA playing a very small part in the 'G-Rev Arc'. And that thing about Zeo/Leon. Now that I would have loved to see animated; it's better than what was shown in the anime, in my opinion. 3nodding
But playing KH2 before KH1...that's just wrong. You wouldn't know the backstory of some characters in KH2 if you didn't play the 1st game... tsk, tsk...

Don't get me started on that. When I watched my friend play through the ending sequence (with that weird, flying castle-dragon thing) against Xemnas (I think I got his name right), and Riku and Sora were doing that tag-team thing, it was fine; no hints there. But the beach scene after that... :O Ohhhhhh, boy...
And it didn't help that another guy bud of mine was there...and his hair's pretty similar to Riku's...and that he was in a sleeveless top... Gad, the muscles! I remember looking from the game, to A (friend in sleeveless top), then back to the game, and then at A again...and back and forth. I also remember thinking "Damn, he'd make a good Kai at a cosplay event!" rofl My mind is weird...

haha! make him dress up at Kai! I'm convinced that when Riku throws Sora the star fruits thing (I can never remember how to spell it) that he actually wanted him and Sora to share it together XD

I'm going to try to get him to dress as Kai during the comic org general assembly Wednesday next week. I'm sure he'd love to save 50% of what we're supposed to pay for the org funds and food. I asked our founder/chairman (seriously, that's what we call the guy who started the org) if a scarf long enough to be a cape would suffice and he said 'go ahead'.
Or I might do it instead, only as Kai's 'twin sister'. Seriously, I still have my improvised G-Rev Kai outfit (dark blue shoes, same hued shirt and pants, jacket with buckles, scarf). xd Wonder what everyone will say when I come walking in in that outfit? Can't believe I'm actually planning this... rofl

Good luck with that it sounds like the one time I came to school wearing an improvised Konoha ninja costume. Black spandex shirt, dark blue worn out velvet pants that had a butterfly design, black sandals, white ribbon with a cellphone holder attached, and a homemade headband.

I've actually gone to school (in the Philippines, most schools and universities have a uniform; ADMU, the one I'm attending right now, doesn't) dressed up as my Naruto OC, Kotone. A guy friend of mine was nice enough to get me the headband and the gloves Kakashi wears as a birthday present last year, so I wore those. I also wore a long-sleeved sheer top, black tank, dark pants, and the sandals. xd The best 'compliment' I recieved was from a classmate who's a Naruto fan, too, and she said "Did I miss an announcement that it was going to be cosplay day today? Because I would have come in my Itachi outfit."
Right now I'm in the process of making a Sasuke costume.
What was the white ribbon and cellphone holder for? The weapons pouch on the thigh? I sewed mine from scratch (ouch!), but wore it only around my waist and at the side, not near the butt region like shown in the show.
I still find it strange that the day my guy friend wore the sleeveless top, he was wearing baggy cargoes and black-and-red crosstrainers. xd All he needed was the scarf!

I'd love to go to school dressed up like that put 1. We have a uniform 2. I have no cosplay outfits at all 3. The letters we get on non uniform day always say no fancy dress -.-
I'm still on episode 14 of Naruto >.> doubt i'll ever get round to watching all 200 odd I still need to finish watching Strawberry Panic and Air and then need to watch Medabots xD
you should have put a scarf on him!!

I didn't bring the scarf, honest! sweatdrop
And I know just how you feel, Lighty. When I was in high school (boy, it sure seems like just yesterday, but it's actually been a year already!), we had a boring old uniform, too: white blouse, long dark blue skirt, white socks, black shoes (of our choice). I couldn't wear my first Kai cosplay outfit (the top even had the red trim on the sleeves! :O) because there was a 'no sleeveless tops' rule and when I was able to put together my G-Rev outfit...the weather got too hot for both a scarf and a jacket, so I had to scrap that idea...
Right now, the weather's pretty mild, so it'll probably not pose a problem if I wear it to the org meeting. I wore a variation of it once, though, to my English block's 'goth night' outing. I swear, the people at the counter (we went to Yellow Cab Pizza that night) did triple-takes when all twenty-five of us walked in, all dressed in BLACK. rofl
