Hey Ray, nice to meet you.

Looked at your profile. You have some great stuff up there.

Oh, by the way, my dad has an old AE-1 camera that still works, just needs batteries. How user friendly is it?

I'm ami..
I started on photography a year or two ago when i got a digital camera. Since then i have worn that camra out, and got two film camera's and a better digital.

My main camera of choice at the moment is my canon A1 that i got in perfect condition a year ago, i sometimes use my nikon f-401 too but its not really manual enough for me.

What started off as a kind of time filler has blossomed into someting of a half hearted hobby that i quite like. Although my pictures are still a bit rubbish sad

My gallery is located at http://faerie-princess-ami.deviantart.com

Hi I'm Kelly. I'm a photography student, I want to be a horror-pyschological thriller director/cinematographer, and I heard that photography was a good place to start for cinematography. I've taken photos for a long time, but have only started using programs like PhotoImpact Pro & Photoshop (I have Elements &Cs2) for a little over a year. I've recently submited two photos into a county competition, *big deal for me, my teacher wanted me to enter and I was the only entry not from a level 4 student*. You can see the photos I entered in my journal here. Keep in mind these are smaller resolution then the ones I entered, so they are a little pixelized. I'm awaiting the results, the awards are the 25th of April. Wish me good luck!

Um I like it a lot more than some of the other camera's...the shutter speed and Aperture work well together... you set the shutter and when you check you light meter it tells you what Aperture to use...it's wonderful :]

We've met haven't we?

This is Palundrium. Yeah, you probably could've guessed that. I'm no hardcore photo-snapping scoundrel, but I do enjoy myself when I'm alone with my camera. Currently taking a second year "advanced" black and white traditional photography class - in other words we develop our own film, process our own prints, dry mount our own photos, create our own window mattes, and get all our photos ready for a show at the end of the year. I'm trying to get into third year advanced next year but I need to talk to my counselor for permission which I keep forgetting. I have a feeling I will though as I bet more people want into AP Stat than Photo 3. =D

Everything I do digital is for fun. I don't plan on majoring in any of this. Maybe minoring? Unsure. Anyways, here's my flickr photostream full of both random, ok vacation shots along with the better ones. Check the "Film Artistic" and "Digital Artistic" for the ones I like better.

I only have one of my darkroom prints up on flickr, and it's only because I rather crudely took a picture of it with a digital camera, edited the perspective, and fiddled with the levels. In other words, it looks like aboslute crap compared to the real thing. mrgreen So here's a sneak preview before I upload a scanned version:

Well. I'm Amanda, 19, and Australian. I've been taking photos since I was 8, originally on disposable cameras. I think I got my first film camera when I was maybe 11 or 12, and my first digital when I was 18, though I'm currently looking to replace it because it's falling apart from over use. And the following link would be my gallery.

Hi hi hello!
I am Sarah
I am 26 and working on going pro as child/family photographer
I have two daughters and as you may notice they are my inspiration
I shoot strictly digital and do all my post processing in photoshop CS2
I am self taught (although I get a smig of help from my dad who's also a photography nut)
I just really love photography and always have, and I am always excited to learning from others, or help them out. I hope this guild will be a great place for that!

wink Thank you for inviting me [girl hearts crayon].

if you'd like to check out my work, here you go

My name's Jasmine, but call me Jaz.
I love photography, it helps me get away from the bad things in life, and has helped me through some rough times, and brought me up from the death of no inspiration in life. smile

Enough with that
I've worked intensely with only one camera for the past... 6/7 years
so I started playing with the camera at around 9 smile

Before that, I'd always had a keen interest in it because when I moved to England solidly from other countries (mainly Mauritius and also, South Africa), I was (and still am) obsessed by memories, and each photograph I found, I'd spend hours staring at it as a 6 year old, remembering old things and things. S'why I still have such a bank of memories in me, which helps when I want to travel back somewhere before and I remember vague routes... etc.

smile So yes
I'm 15... 16 in June
I'm completely self taught
and my camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-F77 (4 megapixel)
if anyone has ever tried to gear a camera like that up to take quality photographs...
It is possible, just so many environmental factors have to come up before a shot can be taken
smile I love it, it's my baby

I'm very much a private photographer
In my local world, I don't show around my photography
My parents barely know I take an interest
even though I keep hinting at them donating money for a DSLR ¬¬
It's not because I'm ashamed
S'merely, I'm one of those people who shy's from rejection
Then again, Don't we all.

It came across to me that I seem to be the only person from the UK :O
I guess that's usual these days crying rofl
biggrin I love looking at the difference of people's photography in different countries
Most people don't notice the little things
but even the normalest of things like fire hydrants (or w/e they're called)
make me sit there with wonder going, oh myyyy

I'm obsessed with the perfect focus
sometimes lowering the shot quality I guess, but I do love it
I love getting close up to things and trying out some macro shots
I love colour... even if it's desaturated a littttle
I love eyes and lips in photography
annnnd i love stories within photographs
Gosh I could go on

smile
Enough with my goobering on

I have a few galleries around, but you'll find all you'll need on this one:

I suppose I should get around to introducing myself! sweatdrop
I'm Taryn, one half of the brainpower behind this guild! Eighteen, female, brunette, Canadian, driven.
I've never taken a photography class but I've been teaching myself everything possible from books, websites and just general practice. I had my first real camera when I was eight and for a long time it was just a silly little hobby, but in the last year or so it's become nothing less than a passion. Photography is my life, my obsession, my chosen career. As much as I'm devoted to learning more about it myself, I want to help other people learn as well.
I specialize in portraiture but also enjoy many forms of nature photography. I shoot digital exclusively [I refuse to shoot film without access to my own darkroom. No way is some random developing and printing my film xd ]
My galleries can be found here and here.

I'm Jay. :] I'm fifteen, sixteen in June and photography is something I recently started developing more. I've always enjoyed photography, but this past month I've been really delving in deeper into technique and style. I'm primarily an artist --a hopeful illustrator with an interest in photography.

My galleries can be found here (primarily illustration) and here (primarily photography).
