hades_from_hell i am a fan of hades/pluto, the reson being that i felt for him wheni read the rape of persohone, and the fact that lives in the under world, im always into the death aspect of all mythologies, and hades seems the best one. that and he never cheated on his wife, had many wifes, has any record of children, his name was not sopused to be said, and he has cerberus, adn the judges;minos, radhamanthus, and i forget the last one , i am sorry for my misspellings That's really interesting. I never thought about that before, but the god of death does seem to be the most loyal and un-adulterous. And I wonder why he has no children? Hmmm.

Vulcan/Hephaestus is awesome. He makes me laugh. Him and his poor lame leg.
Gaia is pretty cool. Ha ha. Gaia...gaia...ouch. OK, no more jokes.
I really love the Fates, and the story behind them, too.

I like Minerva. I think it is interesting that she was born from the head of Zeus and came out a full grown woman. My two other favorites are Egyptians goddesses. Isis and Bastet.

Krimson Kandy I like Minerva. I think it is interesting that she was born from the head of Zeus and came out a full grown woman. My two other favorites are Egyptians goddesses. Isis and Bastet. But the whole incest Isis/Horus/Osiris thing was a little dodgy, you'd have to admit.

Well, in fact, they are Greek gods. The romans as far as I know, were too similar to the greeks. They inherited the Gods from the Greeks after they conquered most of the Greek territories. But that's not all, they inherited allmost everything from the Greeks. Their culture was influenced by the Greek one. So the civilization from that time was not Roman, but Greek. Except that the Greeks were named Romans.

I love Apollo! But that's only natural since I'm a vocal major at school. So I sing. and he's the god of music. Once, again: it's only natural.

Emanue_5000 Well, in fact, they are Greek gods. Except that the Greeks were named Romans. wink Please tell me you're just being facetious^^; After studying Roman history and Latin for four years, I can firmly say that the Romans were very, very different from the Greeks. The way that they went about their lives and the things that they believed were very different. Compared to the Greeks, the Romans were considerably more liberal overall. In that way, the Romans gods were markedly different from the Greek ones, plus the Roman belief system was a bit different. Also, the actual Romans were compromised of some twelve tribes including the Latins, the Sabines, and the Etruscans. The ethnicities had all melted together to create the Roman identity. A bit like Greece in that way, but the groups of people were far different. If you look back through history, every single great civilization has a deity for big concepts like sun, moon, night, love, war, etc. The Romans already had these concepts. The difference is that they didn't inherit Greek culture; they worshipped it. To the Romans, the Greeks were the Coolest Thing Since Cool Ever Came to Cool Town. However, rather than assimilating themselves into Greek culture, Greek culture got absorbed into Roman culture. The Romans didn't choose to start speaking Greek though, and they certainly retained their same quirkiness (if that's what you can call it.) And I'm done <.<;;;; @TheBlackLion: Apollo is great. He's just a fun god^.^
