Mari gave a weak smile. "Just dark energy effects my body in damaging ways... Like an allergy." Her voice was quiet. She'd have to go visit Vinsa if the spikes wouldn't go away eventually. Hopefully that shot would still be in her system.

The spikes were hard and rough like bone. They were even warm like blood was running through them. "Yea. They're composed of dark energy... So it affects my allergy. That war left me with my share of problems."

"I knew you were going to say that and this is where I respond negitavely. No. I will continue to help you." She said that simply and the spikes glew a metallic blue and started to retract. Leaving the markings on her arms the same metallic blue. The medicine Vinsa gave her seemed to work in retracting them, but not keeping the mutation from happening.

*he did notice the spikes change color but he kept to the point*
i can't just let you fight then after knowing what they do to you. your safety comes first. *takes her hand and looks into her eyes with a bit of desperation showing*
please mari... just leave them to me.

She was mad and took her hand away from his. "I didn't fight and train and become stronger just to have you come back and get left behind again." Mari gave him a small glare and shook her head. "I'll do what I want without you telling me otherwise. I've been doing it for nearly two years now." She got up and left to the other room to get him some water to drink. Though, it would seem she left out of her anger. Which was partly true.

Mari came back into the room with a glass of water and seen him with his eyes closed. She knew he wasn't asleep, but decided to just sit the water on the stand beside the bed so he could get a drink when he was done resting. She then sat down on the edge of the bed beside him and crossed her legs.

Mari just looked at him absentmindedly and reached her hand over to him. She ran her fingers through his blue hair lightly. She knew he was upset, but so was she. A good point was raised, though. She had gotten used to not having people tell her what to do when it reguarded battles. Doing her own thing. Now it seemed like she was being put back on a leash and didn't like it what-so-ever.

She kept rubbing his head trying to get him to go to sleep. She was tired herself, but she wanted to make sure he was asleep before she went to lay down. Normally, she would sleep in the same bed as him, but with him sick, she wanted to give him space and let him be comfortable.
