"Happy birthday..." Absinthe murmured, curling up on her bed. Despite all of her new knowledge, her senses were foggy, and the drowsiness made her content. At least, that is, until she remembered one important thing: Laudanum.
Instantly, the girl shot straight up, and a shrill "EEEP!" escaped her lips. With quivering fingers she reached for and put on her glasses, not even bothering to put her shoes on as she darted out her door, slipping and sliding into the wall opposite her door. The thump didn't bother her: all she wanted was her brother.
And just like that, she was off in pursuit: she could feel him, and that was the most important way of finding him.

The darkness of his room had kept him asleep longer than he would have liked but the sound of his sister, or what he assumed to be his sister by the panic radiating off of her, sliding around the hall way woke him up. Blinking sleepily, the young boy rubbed his eyes and calmly slid out of his bed with his bare feet touching the cool floor.
He shuddered slightly, the chill biting into his flesh as he turned the knob and ran smack dab into the taller female. With a yelp, Laudanum was pushed back into the room and onto the floor, his rear smacking the hard wood of it painfully.
"Gah! Abby? Is...that...urf! Gettoff!"
Normally calm, Laudanum was struggling slightly beneath the bulk of his sister's form. He'd be calm when he could breathe again.

Absinthe happily gasped upon seeing her brother, and held him close in a tight embrace, snuggling her head into the boy's midsection while still on the floor.
"Laudy, you're okay! I was so worried about you, because I couldn't find you, and it was so scary, and-" In speaking so quickly, the girl had forgotten Laudanum's basic needs, and didn't realize he couldn't breathe until the strain was on herself as well from the bond. Sheepishly grinning, she pulled herself into a sitting position mere inches away from where her brother lay, and she helped him sit up in a mirrored way.
"It's not fair that they put us in separate rooms," Absinthe commented, pouting slightly as she re-adjusted her glasses. "I mean, how are we supposed to see eachother if we're in separate rooms! Maybe the Green One can make a door for us." She pondered that for a moment, then looked back at her brother, blinking. "What do you think? He'd do that for us, right?"

Gasping for air, Laudanum stroked at his throat and rubbed his bruised rear before looking at his sister, "I don't like it much either, Abby," he admitted, "but I'd...rather not go and ask for favors..."
He was definitely the more shy of the two. Timid where she was bold, calm where she was passionate. Of course he had a few things his was passionate about but asking something of someone so powerful? No. Definitely not high on his list.
"Maybe you could sneak here at night?" He wouldn't risk sneaking around - he was quiet, yes, but he was also a mouse. He'd be afraid of his own shadow.

"Sneak here at night? Puh-leeze. Why would I need to sneak in if I'm already here?" With rapid speed, she grabbed his hand, and held it within her palms, her eyes bright with excitement.
"You know what? We should do something. Let's go see what's outside, or just explore in general, you know? We should do something together, and then when the Green One sees us so happy, he'll have to put in a door between us. It's not really a favor if we prove ourselves, right?"
Absinthe stood, pulling her brother up as well with a good tug. There was so much to do, to see, to discover...and now that she knew her brother was alright, nothing would stop her! Well, nothing except Laudanum, but he would want to come too, right?
She turned, letting go of his hand as she waited outside of the door. "I mean...you do wanna go outside, right?" A tone of confidence seemed to drain from her voice, as if she were apologizing. Wiping her hair into place, her look became anxious, and she took her glasses off in order to see him better, even if the rest of the room was a tad out of focus.

Abby was talking a mile a minute and the poor boy seemed a bit lost. So many emotions flying from her it send his own mind spinning and reeling about in a whirlwind of 'OH MY GOD' and 'REPEAT THAT AGAIN!?' he wasn't quite sure he liked.
"Calm down, Abby," he said, eeping as he was tugged upwards, scarcely stopping himself from flying into the door. She had pulled him reletively hard and he was only so heavy.
"I'll go, but let's be careful okay?" he looked a bit worried, shuffling his feet slightly nervous. He wasn't even used to things yet, and she wanted him to go out exploring? Couldn't they explore their ROOMS first? Or, maybe, the hall way?

"Uhm...okay. We can do careful," Absinthe replied, tilting her head as she smiled. Allowing some of her brother's influence to affect her (as she wanted to see if he was merely appeasing her) she began to calm down, and discovered what Laudanum truly wanted, at least for the moment.
"Or...you know...we can just check eachother's rooms, right? I mean, there's no point in knowing where everything else is if you don't know what your room's like: now that's just silly."
Having found a new objective, Absinthe crawled onto her brother's bed, peering under the pillows for something new and interesting. "What are we supposed to be looking for again?" she asked absent-mindedly, hanging upside-down to search under his bed.
Well, it wasn't as fun as exploring the unknown, but...it was what Laudy wanted, and that's all that mattered.

He seemed a little more comfortable with the idea of staying in his room and it showed on his face, "You were reading me," he accused, trying to hide the smile on his lips and doing a bad job. It wasn't like she could HELP it. At least, he didn't think she could.
At least it wouldn't matter right now. Girls, other than Absinthe of course, had cooties.
Laudanum crawled onto the bed and grabbed one of the pillows, bapping his sister with it lightly, "Iunno. But I just woke up and I don't wanna meet new people yet..."

"Of course I was reading you. And yes, all girls other than me have cooties, because I'm just special like that, so there," she affirmed, rolling off the bed onto the floor. With a devilish smirk, she took the other pillow, and with a yell of childish glee, she tackled her brother once again, whapping him in the head with the pillow she held. If it was a war he wanted, it was a war he would receive!
"Besides, who cares about other people? We don't need other people: for all we know, the whole world has cooties!" As she pondered this new idea, she bopped her brother on the head for good measure, and laughed, finding this much more fun then searching around the area, anyway.

Outside the room came a strange sound, like a rattling, hissing sound. It grew louder and louder as it drew closer to the door to the room. There was a clanking sound and something mechanical about it all and it finally came to a stop as a shadow blotted out the light seeping under the door. A short while later the sounds stopped with a loud hiss, and not long after there was a knock on the door.

Laudanum did his best to make an angry face before snickering and falling over when he was attacked with a pillow. He was about to respond to his sister when the racket outside was heard followed by the knock.
Sitting up, Laudanum looked toward the door, then his sister and back to the door. He was NOT getting that door.
"It's...Uh...For you, Abby."

Absinthe blinked as she heard the noise: nothing the Green One had told her was coming up in recognition, and she began to not feel so sure of herself. Just as her brother did, she looked from the door, to him, to the door, and then back to then.
"It's...for me? But it's your room," she insisted, furrowing her brows. However, to keep the peace, she hopped from her perch on the bed and gulped before slowly turning the handle and opening the door just a peep. She peered outside with one wary eye:
"Hello? Who is it?"

Outside the doo sat Sparks the gnome, sitting on a minature steam locomotive, making him appear like a giant upon it. It sat on some small tracks that sat just under the train and lead to no where. On the back of the train there was a huuuge cart, like a miners cart, attached to the train with little wheels to run on the tracks, inside sat a pair of giftwraped objects. On the sides there were four robot like arms on the train. Sparks looked up at the door gap and grinned, and pushing a button, the train whistled.
" Look out girly, comin through"
The train started up and rolled forward, bumping the door open and barging his way into the room. The arms appeared to remove a section of track as it just rolled over it, pass it to the front arms and lay it down to roll over, creating a never ending track. Sparks did a circle in the middle of the floor and grinded to a halt.
" Well hey there me lil crackers!"

Laudanum stared at the man who made his way into their shared room and raised a single brow, fingers digging slightly into the pillow he had been holding. Well. This was certainly different.
"H..hello," Laudanum answered, looking to his sister. The obvious thought? Come HERE and hide me! Of course, he refused to say it out loud and simply fidgetted on the bed.
"C...can we help you?"

A rather appropriate "EEEEP!" rushed out of Absinthe's lips as she was nearly crushed by the incoming train, filling up the room space quickly. In a bound, she was beside her brother, eyes wide and arms clutching him as she stared at the man...or at least, he looked like a man...why was he so short, then?
Well, it didn't really matter, because the midget-man was on a train, and that could easily make up for any other shortcomings. Only for a moment did Absinthe's eyes wander to the gifts in the back before she was addressed, and instantly looked up to her addresser.
" 'Lil crackers'? We're not little crackers, we're Rosin. Absinthe and Laudanum," the girl shyly responded, still holding tightly to her brother in case the midget man decided to charge. "...Are we supposed to belong to you, then?" It seemed that Sparks's slang only confused her, and she blinked naively, a befuddled and surprised look on her face.
"Does that make you the Green One?"
