As far as the publicity goes, I say leave it public but black list the noobs who don't follow the rules. I'm waaay anti-noob (ignore my signature for now. It's the "Anti-Noob guild's act like a noob day today, so I'm not dressed the best and my singature is way screwy) and ddon't really think they should be allowed. But I'm new, so disregard this or just what ever sweatdrop

since this seems to be the thread for questions sweatdrop
...
just to clarify, we can make our own characters right? Does it matter, for age? (what if you were 5 years old for example?) Can you be in the middle of nowhere to start off, and then go to a village? Is childhood history put into you bio, or do you roleplay that history first?

(ahh, I'm rather confused sweatdrop )

Do what ever you like for your character. Just dont make them some kinda god character..k? They must be balanced. And all of them start of as an academy student

You cannot choose your own rank; all characters start off as an Academy student and get promoted by how active you are. I'll come up with a better system once I get enough active people in.
And..thats it..

I’m not complaining with the rule, in fact the general purpose of the rule is sound. You can’t let people be in control of their rank or you would have too many highly trained people. It also makes a lot of sense to start out AT academy student, since that is about as low as you can go.

What my player and I want to know, though, concerns people on the other end of the spectrum. What about players who want to keep their characters at a low rank until they consider it appropriate for their character’s development? Are they forced to adapt to whatever their official rank in the guild is, or could hold back the promotion of rank till a time appropriate for both the character and current forum storylines? Would there be any penalties for being willingly held back?

Nope. If you want your character to stay at a certain level, then he may without any penalties

Laijin I had an idea for an informational thread. You need to make something like the members list, only it tell the Village and some other information the Kage's need to know (I'm currently at a shortage of villagers as far as I know, and I don't really know how the other Kage's are doing, but it'd be useful). I know there is the 'Shinobi Profiles' thread, but only about 1/8 of the members have posted lol.

There was something like that in the previous guild...before we moved to here. But I dont see how succesful the information thread would be more succesful than the already member profile thread, since everyone who has posted there are about the only people who have actually made profiles.

Well, made or have actually finished making. Same thing, in a practical sense.

I'm wondering if its okay to switch between two topics, like walking around hidden leaf to the acadamy. My character still has nothing to do so I figured I might have her explore some more.

Um... topics tend to be self isolated, both here and most other places I know. This is mostly because the GMing power and plot lines between two threads normally don't mix very well. Leaf in the Hidden Leaf Village thread is under attack, but in the academy student thread that doesn't appear to be the case... of course that's assuming it's even the Leaf Village academy.

Basically to do what you're saying, with the plots going on at the moment, would require a lot of coordination.

But, ultimately it's Laijin's decision. This is just my two cents.
