Question and misunderstandings

So much to see, his green eyes couldn’t stay still roaming from object to object behind the iron fence. Dusky green vines climbed the rails flaking the paint from them; red large flowers blossomed sending a heavy fragrance in the air. Kisten tugged on her sleeve. “It’s pretty.”

“Thank you,” she said, lips pressing in a small smile at the complement. “Just wait to you see the back yard.” The back yard was the best, filled with flowers. “I still have to introduce you to your new siblings.” Her attention turned back to the lock and the heavy brass key. “Stay close to me,” she warned and pushed the gate open as the lock clicked.

Clinging to the pudding incrusted hand, he followed nearly stepping on her heals, eyes wide. “W-why?” He stammered, as it suddenly crashed down on him. He wasn’t home anymore, excitement and anxiety suddenly colliding. His small hand tugged on hers.

“Damian is a little protective of his little brother Joscelin. He might hurt you if you enter the back yard yourself- till I introduced you to him. He’ll become calmer once he know your no threat,” she smiled laying a pudding-encrusted hand in his hair. “Now keep close to me.”

“Damian and Jos-joscin?” He muttered following her closely interest perked. He had brothers now? He never had a family before, well kind of but no one ever said they where related. “Am I related to the people in the mansion?”

“Maybe-do you remember anything before you came to the mansion?” Her own curiously peeked. “A family? Siblings?”

“No…nothing that I remember.” His small face fell into a little frown. “All I remember is waking in a room and I was in the mansion. It was nice their.” His hand tugged on his hair in thought. “I’m all covered in pudding!!!” He wailed. “It’s all itchy!”

‘And it continues, what lovely thing a children lack of concentration can be.’ She looked down at him. “Don’t worry; I’ll clean you up in the back with the hose and then you can have a long bath.” I need one as well; she added. “How about you keep your eyes on the flag stones? Count how many blue ones you see.”

His bright green eyes flickered down to the long grass. There was stone in different colors. “One,” he said stepping on the circular stone. “Two.” He continued after her, tapping the stone when he came to them. “Seven.” A small laugh escaped him.

She smiled as he continued to jump from rock to rock. Children where so easy to distract so innocent in their ways; it was nice to have a child in the house again. Well there was Sandalon but the kitten was more spastic then childish. So he didn’t really count. “We are entering the back yard now,’ the flowers had changed becoming smaller. Speedwell and forget- me- knots replacing the high growing tulips, daffodils, and iris, the backyard was less for show.

Kisten eyes had landed on the tall tent smack in the middle of the garden. His mouth formed a little o of surprise and wonder at the lavender and cream striped creation. “What is that? It so tall!” Curiosity made him forget her warning and pad towards the shelter.

“Kisten! Come back here!” She screeched running after him. She grabbed his shoulder pulling him back before a crimson paw swiped at him. “Didn’t I tell you not to run off? Damain stop that! You will not be hurting your new brother!”

Green eyes followed the large scarlet paw to the furry leg, the golden mane spilling over a defined chest, to the blue eyes in a lion like face complete with twisting horns. A started squeak escaped him as those blue eyes sparked, and large ivory fangs showed. Kisten promptly hid his face in Shadow’s shirt. He hadn’t meant to anger the giant kitty. He didn’t even know the kitty way there.

Shadow shook his head and wrapped comforting arms around the quivering youngster. “Damian won’t hurt you Kisten. You just spooked him running in there like that.” She rested her head on the bright hair. “Damian friendly. You can pet him if you want while I get the hose and wash us down first. Then we’ll get a nice bath going and get you clean up.” No pudding covered youngsters in the house. “Now stay here.”
She set him on the ground and strolled off.

Kisten pulled his knees towards his chest, hugged them, and stared at the giant creature. A small meowing noise sounded, shocking him to look down at the smaller kitten? Dark purple in color with splash of orange on the small face and what looked like a lighten strike running jagged from crown to jaw line. “Pretty kitty.” It wasn’t a kitty but Kisten was at lost what to call them.

The little one looked up at the large one and the elder’s head dipped! As if he was nodding, Kisten eyes widen. It was almost as if they where talking but how? Neither of them had made any sort of noise. The little one had meowed; he must be Joscelin but that was before the nodding motion. Bewildered at something he couldn’t figure out. He didn’t notice Joscelin sneaking up on him till little paws patted his skin.

“Good kitty,” he chirped. “Nice kitty.” Tentively he reached out to the small nose offering his finger for the creature to sniff. Bolden as the creature licked and placed it small hand under his fingers, Kisten began to scratch the small fine hairs. “ You’re a nice kitty.” Not knowing a better term kitty they shall remain.

“And it ends up being Jo that gets pet. Vamoose love, you’re going to get wet if you stay there.” She watched the small creature scurry off. “They are Chimerical not giant kitties,” she added for Kisten benefit. “Your get use to the strange creatures and people that live here now if you would stand up.” She brandished the hose. “I’ll get rid of the pudding.”

He waved bye to the little Chimerical. Chimerical what a strange sounding name; Joscelin was cute. His glaze left the little creature to the hose. “No hose! Just bath.” He didn’t like cold water anymore then pudding.

“Just for a moment, now close all opening and don’t breathe,” she called and trained a steady stream of water at him, her thumb over the nozzle to produce a hard spray. She sprayed him down good till the robin egg blue skin was bright and clean and water dripped from his attire. “That wasn’t so bad was it?” She inquired and turned the hose onto herself cleaning gunk from her skin. Cold water was the lesser of two evils.

Kisten glared at her as he shivered now dripping wet. He was cold, soak, and felt generally awful. “I’m cold now.” He complained.

She finished just as soaked and cold as the child. “Towels inside, hot bath a good rub down. Call someone about getting you some decent clothing.” Definitely a change of clothes, did pudding come out of white? A sinking feeling told her no. “This way,” she called, gesturing to the back door walking off with out him.

Green eyes narrow, he stayed still for a moment thinking before following her. The promise of warm water and shelter from the chilly air overriding the anger he felt about being hosed down. He stepped into the house, glancing around the small room before everything became dark. He squawked in surprise reaching his hands up and pulled off the towel.

Laughter sparkled in her eyes as he stared at her. Kisten wrapped himself up in the giant soft towel, pleased to find it warm. His eyes closed in a lazy content satisfaction as the heat warmed him up. “It’s warm.”

“Fresh out of the dryer.” She smiled at him, reaching over and ruffled his hair. “Now into the bath with you.” Not waiting for any complaint she scooped him up and started to the bathroom. “You do know how to bathe yourself right?”

“I know how to bath,” came the surly grumble.

“Good.” She plopped him down on the title floor and turned the nubs on the bathtub. As the warm water pour, she took down the shampoo and conditioner from their rack and set them at hand level. “Shampoo, conditioner.” She pointed each bottle out and cheek the temperature of the water. “Not to hot or to cold.” She looked at him. “Strip down and get in.”

“Why?”

“So I know your not bathing with your clothing on. Now strip and get in the water,” she said pointing at the tub. Or whatever children Kisten age did. Shadow didn’t remember what her childhood years where like. “If you do I’ll leave.” After turning the water off.

“Fine,” he muttered letting the towel fall down. He pulled off his shirt and then slower his pants. “This is..it feels bad.” Kisten eyes fell on the ground as he stood in his underwear.

Maybe she should of just left. She would leave cause this was awkward. Checking the level of the tub she turned of the water and turned her back to the other. “Take off the underwear and get in the tub.” This should work.

A splash sounded telling her he was in the tub. Taking a swift peek to make sure, yes he was in the tub. “I’ll set a towel on the vanity for you. Try not to mess with Sandalon’s make up.” She kicked his clothing into a little pile and dropped it down the laundry basket. She retrieved a towel from the cupboard. “All set.” She left then.

Now where to get some clothes from?

I've been living here for almost a month now. Shadow or Shadda gave me a book to write down my thoughts. She calls it a journal; I say it's a book. It looks like a book, has pages just like a book, and now has writing like a book. She smiled when I said it was a book. She is writing her own book on the computer, but she won't let me read it.

Shadda is weird. She stays still for a few minutes before suddenly running and then sliding across the floor with a yell. Kazuki says she full of energy. If we could bottle it, we would be rich. She likes pointy weapons and ren faires. She likes mystical creatures, the colors blue, green, and black. She draws every so often but mostly she writes.

Kazuki is quite. He is an antho something I can't spell it. He is the only one living with us and is a coon breed. His tail is long and fluffy and so is his hair. He look more like a girl then a boy. He baby-sits me when Shadda is off at work or at the ren faire. She said I couldn’t come because it was a wedding.

She dressed strangely. She had a skirt printed with dragon and a scarf tied around her chest and a small little black vest over it. She tied a rope bracelet around her ankle that had bells. She placed a dress over it of blue, black and gold and wore it around the house asking how do I look? I thought she looked funny and would be hot under the layers.

She came back with gifts. I didn’t get a pointy weapon though I wanted one. Her friend Noah got one. He let me hold his war hammer. Shadow wasn’t too happy with me touching it. I think it was because I dropped it accidentally on her toe. I got a stuff animal like creature. He’s fluffy and soft and when you twist the knob on the cable his head goes up and down. His wings are shinny and cool to touch. I named him Tobaee and he has his own little bed. Shadow says I’m not allowed to sleep with him. I don’t know why.

Two other anthro people have visited, Akash and his son A’shi. Akash came over the first day I arrived. Shadow says he’s a healer. He looked me over, gave me chocolate, and clothing. Then he and Shadow talked a little bit. A’shi played with me for a few moments and then they had to leave. A’shi is very, very pretty. He’s part unicorn; he has hooves instead of feet. His daddy was a wolf so he has a wolf tail and fluffy ears.

Shadow says I have to go to bed now.

Rp between
Kisten, Orion, and Ureil

He had left the house on his own wanting to explore the world around him. Shadda had allowed him to leave the house so long as he kept the cell phone with him. He had the device in his shirt pocket; she yelled at him if the phone was in his pant's pocket.

Kisten hummed to himself, looking at the sidewalk, and kicked a pebble across the lenght of it. He was wearing an outfit of creamy white with brown trim one of the few things that went with his robin egg blue skin and shocking violet shock of hair.

The colors was definately what made Orion look up. He hadn't seen someone so oddly colored since Trinket. Well...other than Samsara. And Kenna's weird (yet very much appealing) stripe. Ok, so it wasn't the weirdest thing he'd seen, but damn it was...he didn't know exactly.

He waved a hand infront of him, trying to get the boy's attention.

Kisten blinked and looked up at Orion. He blinked his bright green eyes at the elder and spoke slowly,” hello." He tugged his bright hair looking at Orion. "I'm Kisten. Who are you?"

Ureil watched from a semi close distance. Neither appeared to be using Fire. One looked as if fire was the last thing they wanted contact with. The icce blue gave it away. Blue was evil none the less.

That one would be burned soon...

The small boy played with a lighter in his hand, lighting it, closing it, lighting it again, over and over, until suddenly a small plant caught on fire and he had to make a huge productions about putting it out.

"I'm Orion-" He started, but was distracted by Uriel's actions, and turned, cocking an eyebrow. Kids. Honestly. He vaguely wondered how he'd set the plant on fire, but just kept watching, crossing his arms and shifting his weight to one foot, "This seems almost random."

"Your blue." Ureil raised an eyebrow, "Your not supposed to understand." He lifted his lighter, his orange skin turning into a rust shade as he slightly blushed from embarasment. He quickly flicked back the wheel, causing a spark to turn into flame, and it danced.

He closed the lighter, dousing the flame quickly.

Kisten looked at the burning plant then Ureil. He tilted his head as the orange skin flushed into rust. "Your blond. Doesn't that make you stupid then?" He replied back skin darkling at the blue comment. He knew his skin looked odd. Shadda had enough trouble trying to find clothing that would complement his skin. The shocking purple hair and bright luminousness cat eyes didn’t help.

"You're ******** up," Orion mumbled dully, leaning against the wall he'd previously moved away from. He was beginning to wonder just why he'd wanted to get that kids attention. He didn't like kids...

whatever..." Ureil stomped the plant out. "If I'm dumb I have no clue what that makes you. Your still not fire." He shrugs, "nothing else really matters."

"I rather not be on fire or fire," Kisten replied, eyes slanting in confusion. Not fire? Fire was hot and burned his skin the few times he had accidently sat too near the fire pit. He was not afraid of fire just careful. <******** up?" He parroted back to Orion confusion clear. His eyes went to Orion nails. "Your nails are blue, icy blue like your hair."

Orion stared at Kisten, "You're a kid in this day and age, and you don't know what '******** up' means?" He said, cocking an eyebrow again. "Wow..." Looking at his nails, he made a somewhat vaguely interested face, "I like blue."

“I hate blue.” Ureil answered the unanswered challenge. “You are not fire, don’t expect much from me. Fire is interesting. Fire is cool. Blue is not.” Ureil shrugged, still flipping between a lit lighter and closing it. His eyes shimmered wickedly, “Imagine all Fire.” To put an image to his words, Ureil lit another plant on fire.

“Cool huh?” Ureil smirked

"I didn't get a choice. I'm just naturaly blue," he wiggled his fingers. "Shadda says swearing is bad at my age. She won't swear around me," he replied. No one swore around him at the house. It was an unspoken rule of the house.

The pen tapped against the desk in a searching rhythm. Tappity tap, tap, tap..stop. Write down idea of coloration and repeat. Who would think trying to decided an eye color for a demi god would be so time consuming. Shadow sigh and leaned back in her chair, blinked twice. Kisten, such a sneaky little one.

"Why don't you explain things?" He whined, scuffing his feet against the floor. His pant legs where dirty with mud from the outdoors. Clomps of mud feel as he moved from foot to foot.

"I explain things. What happened?" Set down pen, turn, and fix Kisten hair. "How did your walk go?" She questioned.

"Met some people. One kept lighting things on fire. The other had blue nail polish on. He said something was ******** up. What does that mean? Why don't you say it?" He asked in the air of one demanding.

Shadow just lifted an eyebrow, lips twitching in a smile as he squirmed and added please. "One, I think you are to young to say such things. Two, when heard slang tends to be repeated. Three, I rather not deal with offended grandmothers." Strange, why had Kisten focused on the nail polish?

Would green gold go with ice blue and pale almond hair? She scrawled it down and pressed her lips together. What do dress a demi god in? He did go by Saku, which meant new moon in Japanese. Kimono, yukata, various pieces of both kendo and samurai armor to chose from.

“What are you doing now? How come I can’t read what you write?” Kisten questioned. “Can I help? I want to help!” Tug on her sleeve by blue fingers. “How come you play Fly leaf so often?”

“I like the vocalist,” She responded and lifted him into her lap. “I’m choosing colors for a demi god. What his skin will look like, his eye colors, his hair. What attire he will be dressed in. You will get to read my work some time Kisten but right now it’s still rough. Just a draft.” The forth draft and close to finally copy, thank the gods.

Kisten stayed quite for a few moments, fingers playing with The Skirt. The black one obtained from the Renaissances Faire with the long slashes of cloth patterned in flowers frosted in silver that dangled free. It helm uneven and jagged. The skirt fascinated him how the frosted cloth was free to move.

He squirmed to be set down. “I’m going to read now,” he chirped and left.

Shadow watched him for a moment and turned back to her work. How much trouble could he get to? All sharp pointy objects where confine to the basement. Kisten didn’t have the key to her private domain so back to the task at hand.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 08, 2006 5:56 pm

The utility knife punched into the fabric of the black jeans slicing into the touch fabric. Kisten kept his thumb on the guard working the knife, taken from Shadow's uniform pocket, down the material till the end. Humming at the slice he started again working on sawing out a triangle from the fabric.

“Kisten? Holy,” Sandalon bit his lip looking at the pants. “I didn’t think you where allowed, you are not allowed to have knives. Did you nick that from Shadow’s work shirt?”

“Ummmm,” Kisten froze knife dangling in his fingers. “Don’t you ever knock? This is my roooommm! Get out! Get out, get out, get out!” He yelled, waving his hands wildly, and grunted as his thumb grazed the blade. “Oooww..”

“Which is why you’re not allowed near blades,” the can anthro said. “I’ll get you a band aid and the disinfectant spray. Come along Kisten or do you prefer to bleed all over the bed?

“I’m coming. You’re not going to tell her are you?” He asked following the feminine looking male to the bathroom. The cat was twice Kisten apparent age but was the closest mentally and somewhat of a friend. Kisten placed his wounded digit in his mouth sucking the blood welling into his mouth.

“No but she’s going to find out anyways when you wear those pants. You are planning to wear them aren’t you? I don’t think your someone to destroy his own property with out a reason.” Sandalon rummaged though the closet pulling out the box of bandages and clear bottle.

“I wanted something that looks like The Skirt.”

“That skirt? Silly thing, you can’t get something like that by cutting up your pants. You need a man skirt like what Lestat is wearing in Queen of the Damn.” Sandalon picked up Kisten cleaning the thumb and placed the bandage on it. “There you go.”

Kisten moved his fingers watching them in rapt fascination. “It doesn’t hurt anymore,” he said happily. He kicked his feet, wiggling his toes. “What a man skirt?” He asked, tilting his head the violent color bangs dipping in his eyes. He flinched as the cat ran his fingers across the fuzzy side of his scalp where the hair was growing.

“You need a hair cut,” he said setting Kisten down. “Man skirt? Some cultures men wear things somewhat like a skirt. Egypt is one so is Scotland I believe but they have kilts. You can look it all online some time.”

“Thanks.”

“I’m confiscating that knife and washing it. Shadow wanted me to tell you dinner is in fifteen minutes. Ooh and we are having a meeting about Halloween costumes she wants to do a wandering troupe.”

“A troupe? Of what?” He asked looking at Sandalon following him along.

“Wandering players most likely perhaps a tripe of gypsy or something of the like. Who knows for sure maybe she’ll place us all in kimono’s.” Sandy shrugged. “Kisten word of advise, tell her about what you did to your pants. She might get a kick out of it.”

“Maybe,” Kisten muttered watching the cat walk down the stairs. Such pretty fur and long flowing tail, he shook himself and started down the stairs after him.

Dinner was no big event. I admitted what I did to my pants to general amusement and laughter from my household. Shadda seemed amused and thought for a while. Or I think she did. Her eyes went far away but it could of been a daydream.

Costumes where talked about and we watched Queen of the damn for some reason. It was a good movie, the music thick and heavy almost as if you could taste it. Strange. Dark. Lestaet was wearing a skirt. I think I spelt his name right.

We are to go shopping tomorrow. Shadda said buying clothing to make a costume is better then buying a costume. I really don't get what that meant. She kept looking at me and finally remarked that Sandalon was coming along to chose makeup. I'm not sure if about this trip tomorrow. Something says this is an adventure like in my books and a part of me says this is going to end badly. Makeup..I know what this is. Sandalon wears eyeshadow.

I guess I will find out tomorrow what is going to happen. Tonight is movie night. We are watching the Lion king and then some other movie pulled out of the cartoon section of the book case. The Last Unicorn or something like that.

The changing of the months

The leaves where just turning color from green to deep reds and oranges. The backyard was now a festival with ribbons and a pile of pumpkins one that was his to carve as he chose. Kisten pressed the window cling of a bat smoothing it over the glass with the dozen that already decorated the thin plane smearing a dye of red along the outside.

Stepping back he surveyed his handy work. Humming he dribbled more of the dye across the window smearing the red in circles. Kisten picked up the paintbrush and started splattering drips, making stabbing motions to add a brutish anger the scene
.

“Angry are we? Shadow says to clean up because we are going to go shopping for the costumes. Ooh and Kist? You should make yourself some lunch cause we’ll be out for a while.”

Kisten glanced back, pushing aside his hair, and glared at the coating of red clinging to it. He nodded at the cat and started cleaning up the table or better known as shove everything not liquid or messy in a cupboard. Cap the paint and dump out the water in the sink. “Do I have to make my own lunch? Can’t you make is Sandy?”

“Sure. You owe me though,” Sandalon replied giving an easy smile. “How about salami and mozzarella? That sounds good and some juice, yes now where did she put the juice?” He muttered to himself leaving Kisten to finish the clean up.

Dye had dripped on his shirt and on the knees of his pants besides getting it in his hair and on his hands. So going to his room and changing his clothes was a must. He changed his clothes grabbing the first things at hand a deep green long sleeve shirt and a pair of black pants with ripped knees.

He walked back down the stairs glancing around till Shadda came into view. She wore the skirt and a shirt that complemented the outfit. White and wrinkled with a small black vest over it edged in golden trim. The customary ankhs where looped around her neck. Three of them all silver and looped on a chain or a length of black rope.

“Hey Kisten. You ready to go yet? Ahh so you are,” She said, taking in his outfit. “I got you a hat and Sandalon for some reason has lunch packed for the both of you.” She tossed him a black hat resembling the ones Victorian paperboys wore. Soft, floppy, and so comfortable the best hat she had ever owned.

Velvety soft under his fingers and easily squashed in his fist. Kisten turned it around and set over his hair. It felt comfortable and would give his ears some protection form the autumn chill. “Are we going to be in the car long?”

“A while, probably an hour or so. Grab a few cd’s you care to listen to or something else to do.” She started walking away humming to herself. “Nothing that going to make you sick. I do not want to be cleaning puke from the car.”

"I know."

Journal entry
Shopping had been a breeze for the most part. A small incident with Kisten looking up a manikin’s skirt, it figures the youngest one would do something so…stupid isn’t the word I’m quite looking for. Sandalon found it laugh and started talking to Kisten steering him away while a fume to look a makeup. I am not sure that was the best idea.

Halloween was between hell on earth and a party. Between trying to get Kayin to put his costume on and telling Joscelin that the table was not edible there was also food to cook and candy to pass out to children or teenagers appearing in the early hours. Finally everyone was set around six and we could leave to take Kisten tricker- treating.

Kisten seemed to enjoy the tricker treating. It is hard to tell with that kid what he is feeling. He is sometimes so silent and still that he seems twice his age and other times he is laughing as he plays wrestle with Joscelin. His costume was warm enough that the first thirty minutes he could go with out the cape of plush fabric. After the half hour he was wrapped in it and pleased enough to be warm.

After the hour and half of walking we returned and watched movies. Not one of the overly gross eww factor movies such as Hostel. I rather not have Kisten climbing into my bed. We watched the omen and then various cartoons before turning in for the night. Kisten faced was washed of the base Sandalon used to pale his blue skin to near white.

Tomorrow morning will be cleaning up the decorations on the windows and in the yard. Oh joy. Plus tidying the yard of leaves before the snow comes again.

He woke in the night chilled and a quick glance outside showed the first snow had fallen. Kisten made a face pulling his blankets tighter around him and slipped out of his bed, shoving his feet into slippers. Sandalon was fuzzy so his bed would be the warmest. He should of have taken the quilt when it was offered but no..he said it was warm enough to go with out.

Kisten sigh and continued out his door to the hall and into Sandalon's. The basement was to far to walk and it ment crossing more cold wooden floors to get there. Nope, Sandy's room would do fine cause at least Sandy wore clothing to bed. He yawned and pushed in the door.

Sandalon was asleep under all the blankets that had been offered to him along with a single heat lamp that made the air actually warmer. Kisten shut the door and padded over crawling into the covers and snuggled against the warm fuzzy cat anthro that was Sandy. He yawned and feel asleep from the warmth.

Sandalon was leaving. He had spent the day hiding and watching as the femine looking cat packed up trunks, boxs, and bags all with the swirl of green, white, and caramal.

Why? Why wasn't Shadda demanding that he stay? Why was Sandy even thinking of leaving? Sandy should stay with him! The kitten probably was the only one currently living here besides Shadow he thought of as a friend.

Kisten hugged his knees, watching the constant movement as Shadow actually helped the kitten leave. 'No, make him go back in his room. Tell him no. I don't want him to leave. Who is this Remi any ways. Make him give me back Sandy.'

"Kisten? Is there a reason your hiding on the staircase? Don't you want to say good by to Sandalon?" She asked looking up at him. "Kist? Is something wrong? Is this about Sandy leaving?"

"Sandalon should stay here with me. Why are you allowing him to leave? I like Sandy." He said pouting slightly. "I don't want him leaving us." He kicked his feet sullenly. "How can you let him leave?"

"He has a boyfriend now and they have decided they wish to live together. It's for the best for them both. Everyone leaves the nest sometime Kisten. It's a natural part of growing up. Just think about it alright. We still have to move some of the kittens furinture so you have time."

The covers scrunched up as he pulled on the old school style headphones to block out the noise. Kisten pursed his lips, teeth resting on his fuller lower lip, fingers bunching in his pillow. He pulled the object over his head, resting his cheek on the crisp sheets smelling slightly of lavender.

‘Stupid Shadda going to let Sandy leave- he doesn’t care about me anymore. Sandy doesn’t want to be my friend no more.’ He sniffed keeping the pillow pressed over his head. The short kitten with his burnt caramel color skin and laughing green eyes smeared with silver wouldn’t live here anymore.

He wouldn’t be able to snuggle against the cuddly creature during the chill of winter. Or let Sandalon comb his hair and the kitten was so much better at that skill then Shadow. Shadow was a tomboy who kept her hair short and rarely painted her nails or shaded her eyes. Sandalon would and he liked being like his big brother..

“The cause of pain or joy. A destroyer or healer it can cause another death or rekindle an others urge to live. Love is an emotion we cannot control and to remember that it can injure just as well as give us joy we name the God of love the Wound bringer.”

Kisten removed the pillow, headphones askew and just stared at her. “What?”

“Creed of love. Kist you love Sandy not in a way a boy loves a girl but family. It hurts when someone you love is leaving but it’s going to hurt more if you don’t tell him good-bye. Sandy will also be hurt if you sulk.” She sat down, taking the pillow. “He’s waiting down stairs for you.”

“Love?” He grumbled.

“Yes, love. It has many forms from the love of family or a close friend to the love of a boy for a girl.” She was not elaborating on the last one. Kisten was a little young to have sex ed. “Well are you going to say good bye to Sandy or no?”

“Sandy loves Remi though. Remi a guy.” Kisten muttered, looking up into Shadow’s eyes. “Men..love men?”

“Umm sometimes yes..and sometimes woman love woman,” She reached over ruffling his hair. “Well I’m going down to say goodbye to Sandy. Please, come down and see him?”

“Maybe,” Kisten muttered, scrunching the pillow beneath his chin. “Just maybe..”

He found himself walking down the stairs, fingers skimming the wood. He would see Sandalon gone and then take a walk. A long walk to gather his thoughts together. Kisten sigh, continuing his way down and looked up giving a small weak smile.

Sandy had always been small but he was pretty. Carmal color skin, silken white hair, and brilant green eyes that smiled at him. "Kisten. Good by hun." He flowed and gave him a hug. "I got you a gift."

"I heard," he said looking up at the kitten. He still wasn't up to the 5 feet and something Sandalon was. "What is it?"

The cat laughed and pulled out a thick leather jacket. A beautiful thing with a line of black button down the front and a collar instead of hold. "Here. It's better then that parka you where wearing."

Kisten flushed slightly at the ugly orange thing he had been using for the winter season He kept out growing his clothing. He took the jacket, running his fingers across it and gave a pleased content sound. "Sandy..I" He blinked tearfully, pulling the jacket towards him and fished in one of the pockets surprise. "What..Oooh." He said surprised holding up a small tube of lipstick in a green shade.

Sour candy green. "Thank you!" He hugged the cat one last time, struggling in to his coat with a happy sound. It was so pretty! "Thank you so much Sandy."

"It's a going away gift hun."

Meeting new people
Makenna was tired and Max didn't show any signs of letting up. He always so full of energy. At least he could go home and cuddle with Orion later. Mm cuddling. He would have fallen into a bliss dream world right then if it was for Max pulling on his pant leg. " Alright, alright I'll throw your ball."

Kisten walked slowly on the sidewalk, kicking a can with one booted foot watching it skid. He sigh eyes closing. He, he should really let it go but it was so hard..wait was that a puppy? He blinked and looked up at Makenna and then the dog. "He's so cute."

Kenna looked towards the voice and smile. " Thanks." He through the ball as far as he could watching Max race after it. " His name is Max, you can pet when he brings the ball back if you want."

He paused and then smiled. "Thanks. I-I would like that." He held out his hand. "I'm Kisten and you are?"

Kenna took the offered hand, after whiping his on his coat dog slobber..ew. " Makenna, but most everyone calls me Kenna." He said shaking the boys hand looking down as max dropped his ball at his feet. " And this here is Maxwell, or Max."

He shook the offer hand. "You can call me Kist if you want. Hello Maxwell," he said knealing down and offered his hand for the dog to sniff. "You are a handsom boy."

Kenna smiled as Max sniffed the hand and slathered it with slober. Chuckling softly, he was more lab then doberman apprently. " He knows it too." Pikking the ball up he put it in his pocket before pulling out a new one. " He's only a couple months old, he was my house warming gift."

His nose wrinkled as the puppy slather his hand in drool and shook it off before stroaking the puppies ear. "He does, doesn't he." Kisten rubbed the ears before looking up. "From who?"

" My boyfriend, I moved in with him and he got me a puppy." He tossed the ball for Max. " He's always so full of energy so i try to get out her everyday."

Sparwling out on the ground, Kisten watched the puppy run after the ball. "He is full of energy. Who's your boyfriend?" He asked, blinking, looking up at Kenna.

" Oh his name is Orion." Kenna said putting his hands in his pockets to keep them warm, he was starting to get cold. Playing with Max for the last hour and a half didn't help.

"I think I meet an Orion.." He said trailing of trying to remeber back. "He had blue hair and blue painted fingernails.."he ran his fingers though his hair. "Ooh and he swore."

Laughing he flicked hair out of his eyes. " Yea thats sounds like my Orion, he's a swearer, let me guess he said ********." Kenna said shaking his head, but he was smiling.
"He did! My mother says I shouldn't swear because old ladies would stare at me but she doesn't care anymore," he said grinning back. "They already do. I'm blue with pink and black stripped hair."

" That you are." Kenna said nodding his head in agreement. " I have a read stripe..." He loved his stripe, and only two people have ever seen all of it. " So what brings out here?"
"I can see it starts here," Kisten put his finger on his brow and ran it down one eye, his face, to his neck and down father. "It's really appealing. I, I just needed to get out of the house."

Kenna chuckled. " It actaully starts on my head." It was why he had a red stripe in his hair as well. " Thank you." Tossing the ball again he shook his head when max raced off. " So what about you any boyfriends or girlfriends?"

"No, not yet. I haven't meet many people yet." He tilted his head, following the stripe up the others hair. "It's looks good on you..I should meet more people."

" There's lots of us around." Kenna said with a frown. " I have a 'brother' named Macyn." He didn't get along with him but other people might.

"I meet a few..Orion and this strange little kid that wanted to set everything on fire," he said daydreaming off. He shook himself and snorted. "Really? That must be cool. "

" Not really i think he's an a**, im sure he thinks the same thing about me." Kenna said giving Kisten a lopsided grin. " He's one of the reasons i dont live at home anymore." He sighed in relief when Max laid down tiredly at his feet. " Bout time pup."

"Someone I cared about just left. His name was Sandy; I guess he was just staying till he found his feet," Kisten trailed off, eyes sadden. "I cared for him but I guess it best that he with someone he likes. " He leaned over and scratched at the pups ears.

"You'll find your someone." Kenna said looking sad. " I've only loved two people in my life. Orion and and A'Hallei, somethings are ment to be others are not. " He shrugged and clipped Max's leash on him.

Kisten looked up at Kenna and nodded. "My mother says love is a b***h and can tear your heart out. You have to accept it to allow it to heal before you can find love again. Or something like that

Kenna smiled weakly. " I fell in love with two people at once, and had to make a hard choice, i believe i made the right one but the other person will always hate me for it." He shrugged. " Lifes a b***h though what are ya going to do?"

"Might not..some times they start to understand what drove you to that choice. I nearly hated Sandalon for leaving. I don't now," Kisten shrugged, snuggling into his coat. "Get through it. Right Kenna?"

Kenna nodded. " Yup. How about a hot chocolate, im freezing." Kenna asked smiling again he new A'Hallei would always hate him. But he was okay with that as long as he knew what he felt. " There's a place just down the street."

"I would love that!" Kisten stood and patted down his knees and coat. "Do you want me to pay or shall I pay?" He asked, tilting his head giving a grin.

" I'll pay. Will you be able to stay out side with Max?" Kenna asked watching his pup walk slowly, since he was tired now, it wouldn't last long.

I'll be fine watching Max." He followed Kenna, watching the puppy walk with them. "He's a tired little puppy isn't he. So excitable and then he ends up pooped." He paused and smiled. "Thanks for the hot cocoa."
