Nailah giggled as she watched Vor chase the grasshopper. She nodded her head and jumped up to the root that he was waitning on.

Slipping under and over three large roots, he walked into his home the 'secret entrance' as he saw it, any other way would not allow anyone bigger then a kitten through, but that was big enough for an adult cat if need be.
Stolen pillows and blankets lay around his spacious under tree home. The area was big enough for an adult to sit up, his mother had, he remembered. "I'd give a tour, but you can see everything by standing in one spot. I live comfortably here." This home suited him well and he kept it relatively clean. Using the bathroom out side and eating out there, the inside was kept clean of bones and the only time it got dirty was when it flooded, then new items were taken and replaced the old.

Nailah looked around, and thought this might be a comfortable place to sleep in if the weather was right. She walked over to one of the pillows and laid down on it. "Hope you don't mind. She said.

Vor took a blanket pile, and sat down himself, "No, I don't mind at all." He took it as a complement, she was comfortable in his home. Sniffing at a pile of mint, he picks up a leaf and bites into it before asking her, "Would you like a mint leaf? They are rather tasty and my mother always said they were good for you." He always followed what his mother said, even though she had been gone for so long.

Nailah nodded and took the leaf in her mouth. She chewed it. "Wow... that was pretty good. Thanks." She said, smiling at Vor.

Vor smiles back, enjoying having company. He had been on his own since his mother left, and it was strange in a good way to have another with him. "I am glad you liked it. Mother didn't stay around long, but had plenty of good advice about how to survive, they all work." His mother was his hero, even if she did abandon him.

"She did" He confermed. There was one thing his mother left out of his teachings, how to convers. He was stuck now, and didn't know what to say. So he went silent.

Nailah wanted to break the awkward silence. "So... what do you usually do everyday? I usually take a walk outside." She said, trying to make light conversation.

Vor looked at her, and thought before answering, "I hunt everyday, sometimes fighting off the mean Toms that bully around here. When it floods, then I enter the human world looking for soft warm stuff they leave unattended. They kidnap cats, so its only fair I take a little bit back from them." He didn't feel what he did to make his home warm and comfortable bad.

Nailah understood that stray cats had it harder than most house cats. "Well if there's another flood, I can always give you some stuff." She said. She also thought about the stray cats that she had seen on the streets, the white truck coming to get them, and taking the stray away. Her pets had always warned her about this "car".

Vor responded with a soft smile and a few words, "I thank you for your offer." He didn't know where she lived, but he was sure he could find it without too much trouble. She lived in a different world from his, but she seemed so much like a friend, someone he could be close to and understand him.

Nailah nodded. She couldn't think of anything else to say. Vor seemed nice and she thought that he could be a great friend. She shivered a little bit, now realizing that it was a little chilly outside.

He saw her shiver and got off his blankets, warmed by his body heat, and walked over to her, throwing them over her with a flick of his head. "Will you get in trouble if you stay out too long." He didn't want her to be in trouble because of him.

Nailah shook her head. "I can be out for days at a time. As long as I still have my collar on, my humans don't worry about me. And thanks." She replied, licking his cheek.
