Manior giggled, patting Xue's face one more time before he stood up on the couch, put his hands on either side of the doll's face, and give its forehead a big, wet lick.
His expression changed into that of confusion as he felt his tail grow wet, however. Blinking a couple of times, he looked down at the fish baby, noticing the tip in her mouth. He frowned a little bit, distressed over the fact that she was eating him.
"Noh!" he tried to tell her, shaking a finger like Neko did whenever she told him not to do something. "Noh foo! Mahn!"
He pointed to his tail, and then to his little behind. "Mahn! Noh foo!"
Neko snapped back to reality after finding herself simply watching her son with DS' daughter, having never really seen him with another baby before. (At least, not since he was an infant.) Looking to her friend, she smiled with a small shrug.
"Sure, I'll have some tea if you wouldn't mind," she decided, taking a seat in the chair she'd brought out. "So, tell me. How have you been doing?"
Demare stopped at the doorway, peering around the changed room for a moment. Some things he didn't really notice any changes to, not remembering what they looked like from the last time he was there. However, he never expected it to stay the same way forever. His eyes turned toward the broken box in the corner of the room, remembering how as a baby he'd slept next to it, and then had planned to help build a new one the last time he visited. Karan's... caravan.
"Well, guess as long as you aren't doing nothing, right?" he joked a little bit, even if it wasn't much of a joke. He looked back to his friend, his blank eyes showing little emotion as usual. "I'm not sure if it matters now or not, but I'm sorry I couldn't help you fix your bo-- er, caravan. I tried to make you a new one, but... it kinda got... destroyed."
He decided it best not to mention how bad it looked. Demare didn't have much creativity, and had barely any artistic talent. Had it not been for Clare, Demian would have butchered the poor box.
Not really sure of what else to do at the moment, Demare took a seat on the bed near Karan, but still kept his distance in case the boy didn't want him to be too close.
"So... what have you been up to all this time?" the halfling asked, not very good with making conversation.

If touching with fingers was rude, then licking was almost definitely ruder. And felt icky and sticky. Wiggling more, Xue projected a mixture of disgust and annoyance, and trued to heave Bob off his lap. Xue did not like being sticky at all!
Bob's response to both Xue's frantic motions and Manior's distress was the same. For a moment she removed the soggy tail tip from her mouth, blew a spit bubble, and replaced the fuzzy bit of fur. The fact that her new favorite toy was attatched to someone went unnoticed. Or, it was possible that Bob saw and didn't care.
DS busied herself in the kitchen, putting a pot of water on the stove and then rummaging through the cupboards. "So, have you been doing well?" she called, grabbing a jar of jam in one hand and a box of tea in another. "I was surprised to see you today, is there anything I can help with? Or did you just come for a social call? Either way is fine with me, I need to get out more myself."
A tiny piece of Karan was upset by the constant stream of questions, but for the most part he wanted to answer everything fully. After all, it was only fair that the two catch up on eachother's lives if they were going to keep being friends. The problem in Karan's eye was that he wasn't doing much living.
Part of it was the fear of meeting new people, and having to trust them. Part of it was Karan's unwillingness to put himself in new situations. But he just wasn't leaving the house very much. Occasionally he'd help DS with errands or go outdoors with his "family." Most of the time, however, Karan stayed in his room. He worked on the kite, drew pictures, listened to music, read books borrowed from various occupants.
"Nothing much," Karan admitted. "Mostly been keeping to myself. I go out sometimes, but there's not much to do by yourself. It's been kind of boring." He shrugged off the comment about the caravan, not really wanting to discuss it. He wasn't sure if he wanted one anymore. That said, there were still doodles of one tacked in the corner above the broken box.
At least he'd answered the question, if not the statement. "What about you? I'm sure you've been busy."
