It's recently come to my attention I'm probably not the only practicing witch in this guild so I thought I'd extend a nice new thread. I'm a secular witch--no religious affiliation or nothin, just divination and good will practices for me. I only recently started practicing as of roughly eight months ago I think? I'm very new to it and wanna meet more folks and discuss....I dunno, whatever! What do you guys do? And if you aren't one but are interested in it, that's cool too! Feel free to ask stuff maybe someone will have some answers smile As for me, I really only focus on divination with tarot cards and my crystal pendulum at the moment as well as minor cleansing spells, sigils (mostly gender related) and charms. I haven't had the chance to really dip into much else yet. I don't practice magic but do yoga and meditation. One of my instructors likes witch craft and did a ritual for one of our classes in opening our heart chakra. So I have a appreciate for such things. I also admire the relationship of nature important to witchcraft Ahhh..neat! I've actually always wanted to get into both of those things but I have issues focusing myself for meditation ^^; Got any tips on what helps you, maybe? Meditation isn't like trying to achieve something specific it's about returning to a natural state. You can't remember anything as a baby or when you sleep and dream. Try to let your mind settle usually I imagine a river or just focus on breathing. It might help to do an active mediation like standing meditation. I see.... :0 I will try that, thank you!

Caffeinated Autumn sigishooter Ahhhh cool! One of my roommates is a green witch too. I've also been interested in learning more about astro and space witchcraft ahah That's awesome though! My queer platonic partner got me a bag of wooden runes for christmas and I've just started trying to experiment with those. I definitely wanna learn half of the stuff you're learning too haha I also have a tumblr side blog but mine is half art resources and half witch resources. If you'd like it, mine is nochti.tumblr.com :0 (im not always so active on my side blog though ahha)

Ah, okay, I was just wondering about the runes since there seems to be different ones like the ones used in Scandinavian version called futhark and another one called futhorc.

Rick and Morty is awesome! I totally recommend it. If you get the chance you should watch a few episodes to see if you like it. Yeah, I plan to watch it once I get moved back into my parents home! And aaah...I have a tarot card book I use! That's the only book I have at the moment. Everything else I've learned I keep in my notes online or on my blog. I plan to get a book for runes once I get the chance but I've got to be careful when I'm back with my parents because neither know about the witchcraft and my father is a very very very dogmatic christian so :')

Caffeinated Autumn Ah, I know what you mean. sweatdrop I grew up Catholic but found it wasn't for me after a while. My parents are fine with me being a Wiccan and witch and sometimes they'll tease me but it's all in good fun. My mum has even let me do one or two spells for her 3nodding It's funny because I use to do magic type things back when I was still a Christian without even thinking about it.
I have a few books. A few are by Scott Cunningham and a couple are not. Most are on herbs. I try to be careful of which authors to get info from though. That's cool you have a tarot card book. I'll have to find one to get soon. What kind of deck do you have? I have a zombie tarot but I might get another one since zombies seem a little silly.
Hey that's awesome your parents are supportive! :0 Glad to hear that. And yeah ahah in terms of books I'm pretty careful as well. My tarot deck is called "The Night Sun" tarot deck. I. LOVE. It. haha The artwork really speaks to and inspires me, and so far I've had nothing but good experiences with the deck. I'm interested in the Lady Bast and Loki, though I'm not sure how to go about my actual practice. Like I said, I'm still testing the waters after not practicing for about six months.

Yeah I just felt it calling out to me and I was like "I need you!" I'm not entirely sure which deck I want next. Maybe a Celtic deck or something. I'm thinking of making another altar cloth. I crocheted my Yule one I just need to remember which colors are associated with Imbolc. Ooo that sounds cool. I'd still like to either make myself or get an altar cloth one day. What's Imbolc? :0
