Avi
Avi sighed and rolled his eyes. "There is no way we are leaving here after some ambiguous recording. Everyone on the olympic peninsula knows what happened here. Some d**k could have planted that. Though my bet is still on Harley." He glared at the girl before looking at DJ who was walking around squinting at the ceiling."What's up, bud?" He called over. DJ held up one finger. Avi bit his lip and just observed.

DJ

DJ knew where the sound had been coming from. It sounded like a metal vent. All he needed to do was locate it. He looked up at the seam of the wall where the wall met the ceiling. He knew they had a vent in the living room. He remembered hiding stuff there when Marshall decided it would be funny to start stealing his things. When DJ made it to the area where the breaker box was and finally located it. "Can I get a boost?" He called to anyone in general. Faster than he could turn around both Harley and Avi were hoisting him up. The vent cover was crooked and obviously quickly put on with no care what so ever. He easily pulled the cover off and revealed a tape recorder and a dvd. "Well. Who wants movie night?"

Harley

User Image
Harley watched the entire thing unravel before her eyes. She was being accused by Avi left and right and everyone wanted to go home. She moved over and saw DJ acting like sherlock. She closely watched him and saw instantly what he was going for. She raced to his side and with the help of Avi the boy was over their heads. When he was let down he had his hands full of a recorder and a dvd. "I'm so down for a flick." She was curious needless to say.

Without waiting for a response from the rest of the team the movie was put in. It was a shaky shot of Marshall and Sarah. They looked confused. "Where are the others?" Marshall asked, his words slurred, obviously very drunk. Sarah piped in, "You said everyone was out here...wait. What are you doing with that?" A glint of a silver knife glinted in front of the camera before it slashed quickly at Marshall's neck. Blood spattered on the camera lens. You could hear Sarah's scream but could see nothing. Suddenly the screams were garbled and then the video cut out and turned to words.

Welcome back. Which one of you will be next?

Blake Ellis Logan

Blake watched as Avi and DJ and Harley used each other to get to this video. Suddenly she felt like she had the under hand here... What was going on? She had been the one to really cut herself from the group. Were they retaliating? What was this trip really about? All of the trust evaporated. She thought they had been her friends but she didn't trust anyone in the room now. She turned to see Vienna heading for the door... Her stomach was twisting, head swimming. She looked to the right, chest heaving, to see Levi sitting on the couch with his head between his knees. Yes. Sitting.
She wobbled over to him, sat beside him and watched her fingers tremble.
"I am not staying here." She mumbled. Why were they digging around? They should be running... She'd happily leave her things behind. She needed to leave...
Just as she was going to stand the TV lit up and Marshall's voice rang out. Her eyes grew wide, she hadn't even realized how close she was to Harley until now. She was 'so down for a flick'. God. Was she so down for this? What was this?
She shrieked as the knife slid across Marshall's neck. Her stomach hurled, the camera went black and all that was heard was Sarah's shrill screams. "Still want to ******** stick around, Avi?" She jumped from the couch, quickly crossing the room to get in his face. "Our friends ******** DIED here! And someone is threatening us now. Take me ******** home. Now." She demanded as Vienna's hurling noises took over. She turned on her heels to send the girl bent over the sink.

Vienna instantly regretted demanding to know what preparation meant. She didn't want to know. Actually, she thought Avi was crazy because she was with the others, she didn't want to be here anymore. She felt sick. The room was spinning. And she was craving a fix to make it all go away. The same thing she'd been doing all year, burying the hatchet. She wanted the memories to dissipate. She needed them gone. That night. That ******** night would never leave her memory, she knew. But she pretended she could, and she did escape the pain from that night. It never ended. She was heading towards the door, mindlessly running whenever she heard Marshall's voice echo throughout the cabin. Her stomach dropped.
"Where are the others?" Oh God. That night.
Her skin pricked with goosebumps as she turned on her heels, watching the rest from afar. She gasped when the knife slid across Marshall's throat. She grabbed the wall, steadying herself as her knees weakened.
Then Sarah's shrill scream.
Vienna couldn't take it anymore. She ran to the sink, emptying her pretty bare stomach into the silver. Her hands were shaking, gripping the edge of the counter.

As soon as the lights came back on his eyes connected with DJ's. Thankfully they both seemed okay. Shaken, but okay. He was thankful to find him looking for him, for some reason it gave him hope. But everything fell apart fast. People were yelling, screaming, and everyone was clearly freaking out. He sighed, took a deep breath and waved his hands in the air. He rushed to grab Blake, pinning her arms at her side he held her close. "Shhh. It's okay." She calmed slowly and he looked up. "Well, she's not wrong. We can't ******** actually be thinking we are gonna stick around?"
Levi shook his head. Of course no one was listening to him. Especially not his ******** boyfriend, who was too busy getting hoisted up into the air by their friends. He sat down on the couch and leaned over, resting his elbows on his knees and hanging his head in his hands.
Movie Night.
His gut twisted. Something told him what they found wasn't a normal movie.
And boy was he right. His stomach wretched as the slasher video appeared before him. His heart shattered as his best friend died, on screen, it was like the horrible nightmares that haunted him came to life.
"No." He looked around the room, Sarah's screams echoed before the tape cut.
"No. No. No. What kind of sick joke is this!" Blake was hurling towards Avi, and Levi was left to stare at the scene unfolding before him. Vienna puking in the kitchen, the group in chaos. They just watched their best friends get murdered on a tape they found in the cabin where they died.
Welcome back. Which one of you will be next?
"Guys!" He stood, commanding attention for the first time in a long time.
"One of us is next. I don't think we could escape if we tried. We are in the middle of nowhere..." His voice fell off, his lip quivered. What kind of nightmare was this?

Avi

Avi watched the movie in awe. It showed the whole murder scene. Everything. And the last words his friends said were still ringing in his ears when Blake lunged at him. "You have got to be kidding me. You think I don't know our friends got murdered here. You think I didn't have to spend every waking minute of the last two years thinking about it." He bit his lip and looked up at Levi. "We don't run. This thing can't possibly get us if we stick together and don't divide." He looked directly at Blake. Not even paying attention to the retching Vee.

DJ somberly watched the whole video and then proceeded to watch his friend group fall apart person by person. Vee ran off into the kitchen and DJ followed. Holding her hair for her as she vomited in the sink. He heard Harley's exclamation and nodded. "We could just hop into the car!" He shouted away from vee's ear. He heard footsteps to the door and then Avi shouting back "the tires have been slashed. We can't get out." Then he heard Harley quieter and with a tiny hit of a wavering voice. "Then we have to prepare like they said."

Harley's look was appalled at what she was witnessing on the screen. Not only had the murders been filmed. But they seemed to know the cameraman. Trust them. Which means it was one of the group. She was so lost in thought that she didn't even notice Blake right next to her until the girl was yelling and getting all over Avi. "We may not be stranded you know."

Blake was slightly thrown off when Avi didn't move towards the kitchen to help his girlfriend. But things were unfolding too quickly for her to withstand. She felt like puking too. Reality hadn't yet set in, but she knew that they would not all make it out of here alive.
Again.
And she had a sneaking suspicion that it was at the hands of one of her so-called friends. Her money was on Avi. Did Vee know? Was that why she went away, was that why she was acting so weird? A year ago they were head of heels now he didn't blink as his girlfriend hurled.
Seriously. What the ******** happened to them?
Blake was shaking, standing in the middle of the room. They couldn't leave. The tires were slashed. DJ was holding Vienna's hair, helping her. Then she was gone, pushing away from the group in tears. She tried to hide them, but they knew.
Then we have to prepare like they said.
"How do you prepare when one of your friends is the killer?" She mumbled under her breath, looking at the floor.

Vienna felt someone behind her, but it wasn't Avi as she had hoped. Which, she didn't expect it would be. That would be caring, nurturing. He was anything but that anymore.
Her entire body was trembling. Everything happened so fast from there. She cleaned her face and tried to bite the tears away.
The cravings for escape tore through her. The tires were slashed. They were stuck. The killer was here. They were next.
She didn't hear anything else before taking off, headed for her and Avi's room. She instantly ripped through her luggage, digging. She knew she would have stashed something somewhere... where was it? Dammit. She couldn't think straight. Her entire body was trembling... "Come on where is it where is it..." She sat down on the bed, pulling out a little ziplock filled with little yellow pills.

Levi sat back down on the couch and let everything happen around him. He didn't notice Vienna leave, or DJ help her while she was puking. He vaguely heard something about tires being slashed. But his mind was replaying the video. Over and over again. Over and over again. Marshall's face, then his blood... splattered everywhere. Marshall's face again. Smiling, the drunken smile fading fast as he was murdered. Sarah's screams. Her cries. Their death. On video. And someone wanted to finish the job. He was sick. He was scared. And he shrunk inside of himself, sitting on the couch, knees pulled to his chest, feet planted on the couches ledge. Levi didn't know what to do, how to react. Things were just bad. This was so bad.

Avi

Blake was mumbling under her breath when Avi went out to go check the car. The tires had been slashed and there was no way out. When he ran back inside to notify the others he thought of the landlines. He went to pick up the phone and there was nothing. No dial tone, no anything. He sighed and slammed down the phone. "This is not good. And all your freaking out is not helping." He said to the group before Harley went into her rant. In his head he was thinking about the layout of the land. They were on about 20 acres which was the size of about a football field and a half. They had an old hunting shack at the very end of the entire thing through a bunch of forest. Maybe thats where they should go. He hadn't made a fully formed plan but he whispered "hunting shack" to Harley before going to get Vee. "Hey, what are those?" He asked in regards to the bag in her hand.

DJ

After Vee had run away to her room, DJ decided maybe it was time to forget their argument and go check on Levi. Walking into the living room he saw everyone had sorta receded into their own minds. Especially Levi. He just sat, knees to his chest, watching the black screen. Gingerly, he sat next to the boy. Close enough that Levi could feel him, but far enough away that his space is crowded. "Would you like me to get you anything? Water, a sandwich, a glittering strippers?" DJ attempted to joke smiling at Levi, trying very hard to pull him out of the hole into which he was sinking. "We are gonna be okay, I promise. I'll protect you." As much as he possibly could from something that was a complete mystery.

Harley

User Image

It was too much happening all at once for Harley. Her head was starting to spin. Her brain was working a mile a minute and nothing was making sense. The tires were slashed the phones obviously didn't work, though she had to piece that bit together herself because Avi wasn't communicating to anyone, even his own girlfriend. Levi was on the verge of tears it looked like, Vee was crying. Blake was mumbling something about not being able to prepare. "Well this was a waste of time. As horrible as it sounds we have an opportunity to bond and stick together and all we are doing is dividing further. We are all going to die at this rate. We need a plan, and to stick to it because this is not going to keep us alive." As soon as her rant was finished Avi whispered to her and she snapped her fingers. "Perfect. Let's see if we can find anything to use as weapons and then we can make our way to the hunting shack at the edge of the property. They have to have a radio of some sort there or something like that."

Avi

It took all Avi had to not explode. Why did he care, now? That's what she was asking? That pissed him off to no end. "What the hell do you mean by that? I've always cared. You are the one who left me. To go party around New York with who ever." And then he pointed at the bag. "And do drugs apparently." He didn't even know what they were but he really didn't want to right now. "We are having a crisis and you want to alter your mind state?!" There was so much that could be said between them but as soon as he opened his mouth he heard Blake screaming at Harley about watching where she was going and it pulled his focus for a quick second before he looked back to Vee. "When did you start doing this again?"

DJ

Somehow the smile he got seemed to be just placating him but DJ took it and ran with it. "Oh yeah. Maybe we can use the stripper to our advantage." DJ did have the urge to clean away the blood on Levi's lip but he got beat to it. He leaned closer to Levi and whispered, looking into his eyes. "I don't know but I do know despite everything that's happened between us I'd protect you with everything I have, okay?" Gently he touched his boyfriend's hand. And nodded when he said they should help the girls pack some supplies. He grabbed things out of a junk drawer in the kitchen like a flashlight and some stray batteries. He shoved them into a backpack quickly and didn't stop packing until he heard the collision. He moved quickly into the living room to see Blake yelling at Harley.

Harley

Harley was busy packing and planning and bossing, you know, doing her own thing until she wasn't paying attention for one second and she collided with her ex girlfriend. She opened her mouth to apologize until Blake went off on her. Then it was on. "Excuse me. I know you can be a b***h when you're PMSing but you don't need to bring it into this already stressful situation. It was a ******** accident." Blake carried on like Harley ******** poisoned her. Grinding her teeth she proceeded to help Blake pick things up despite the knowledge the girl would probably yell or become more mad. "Would you just give it up already? It happened. It ended with us. You have a right to be hurt but we might die. Do you get that? Death. And I am trying to keep us safe. Your personal vendetta against me needs to be put to the side. If we survive this you can go back to acting like I shot you with a shotgun at close range and I won't say a word about it."

Blake was watching the scene unfold. Levi was a wreck, a shell of a person staring mindlessly into the static filled TV screen. Harley was spinning off her hook. She could read the girl's mind, nearly. Or she thought maybe she could. Who really knew anymore? Was she even the person she once knew at all? So much had changed in the last year… and even before that apparently. When had things really changed? She wished she could remember… pinpoint it, go back to that time, and fix everything. Maybe then none of the bad stuff would have happened…
But it did. And the tires were slashed, the phone lines were dead. She pulled her cell phone out. Zero service. Assumably, everyone else would suffer the same fate there. Avi was screaming that nobody was helping, then he went off in search of his girlfriend. Or so she hoped. Someone should check on Vee… DJ was now by Levi and Harley began barking orders.
Blake silently followed the three around, gathering supplies and going with the flow. She had shut down her normal take-charge side. Everything was happening in a blur. Until Harley and her collided, causing the things in their arms to crash to the floor. The rage suddenly erupted from within her, she was shaking.
”Maybe you should try ******** watching where you are going!” Their brief contact sent chills down her spine. She felt gross. Everything was a mess. She didn’t want her near her, much less touching her. ”God.” She bent down to start to pick things up, her face still red with fury.

Vee was sitting in silence, her hands trembling as she held the bag of Klonopin in her hand. She wanted the pain to go away; she needed everything to subside. It worked all year at school. Party, drink, take pills, do whatever everyone else was doing, only probably for different reasons. But everything felt so real here, it was all coming back. And lets just say reality is a b***h. It washed over her like an unexpected tidal wave. She felt like she was drowning and this was the only way she knew to make it go away. She needed it gone. The feelings, the twist in her stomach, she had to let it go. Just as she was about to pull a yellow pill out of her baggie, Avi walked in asking what was in her hand. She dropped the bag, into her lap, which caused one of the pills to slip out and roll across the floor.
”Dammit!” Of course he would choose now to care. He didn’t give a s**t while she was away, he didn’t give a s**t when she came back, and he sure as hell didn’t come rushing to her aid while she puked over the fact that her best friends were killed in front of her on the TV a year after they were dead. She scoffed, tossed the bag back into her luggage, and ran her fingers through her colored hair. ”Honestly? Why the hell do you care, now?” She crossed her arms over her chest, which only pushed her boobs up and out more, though that wasn’t the intention this time.

Levi was still huddled against himself on the couch, mind racing, eyes blankly staring at the static filled screen. It didn’t matter that their faces were gone, he could still see the movie playing over and over again right there, hearing their curtling screams. His stomach was twisting more and more as he sat there, biting his lip until he busted through it. A little blood trickled down onto his chin, nothing severe, just a little drop dangling there. He didn’t notice. He looked over as DJ joined him on the couch, keeping his distance, but still close enough to feel his body heat. Levi’s wet eyes turned to meet DJ’s when he spoke, trying to lighten the mood. Levi offered up a small smile to encourage him, just as he always did…
”A stripper would be nice, wouldn’t it? Then this would almost feel like a party, some sort of celebration as it was supposed to be.” He sighed, licked his lips and tasted the copper blood. He wiped the rest of it away with the back of his hand. ”Hah--How?” He stumbled in reply. ”How are you going to protect us from the unknown?” And what if it was one of them? Who could they trust? Each other? He nearly laughed at the thought! Trust. Trust was a figment of imagination, an illusion. Trust was not real.
Levi turned as Harley started planning. Apparently, they were going to go to the hunting shack at the edge of the property. ”We better help,” He said to DJ, ”If we have any hope of surviving the night we need to get to the shack before night fall.” He cupped his hand over the boy's knee and smiled as warmly as possible. Then he turned to help the girls avoid killing each other. They went around, gathering supplies and things they’d need for at least a two day stay, just in case. They packed up back packs and organized with Blake and Harley until the bickering began...

Blake laughed when Harley fired back. Actually cackled, out loud, very loud. She stood upright, dropping the things back to the floor. "We ended? WE ******** ended? Oh, that's all right? La tee ******** dah? You didn't break up with me, Harley. News flash! The ******** police told me you were ******** cheating on me with our dead best friend. How the ******** do you expect me to just get over it?" Blake was shaking she was so furious. "I'm sorry I'm not a ******** heartless b***h like you. Some people ******** care!" With that, she shoved Harley, not hard enough to make her fall, just enough to make her stumble backwards. She wasn't much smaller than her ex girlfriend, but Harley had her by a good four inches or so. "And that's so funny, yeah joke about shooting me when we're gonna ******** die because psycho Avi up there wouldn't take us home. And Vienna decided it would be a ******** good idea to visit the place our friends were killed. But whatever, right? Everything is so totally cool. I'll just forget Sarah and Marshall were murdered here and you were ******** her behind my back. I'll just forget everyone here lies. All we do is lie. And I'm supposed to trust you guys with my life?" She scoffed, folding her arms across her chest. "You might as well kill me now, dear. Because I don't trust a single person in this cabin. I doubt any of us make it out of here alive. So go ahead, boss us around like it matters." With that she turned on her heels, headed to clean up the mess, though she doubted Harley would leave it at that. She anticipated retaliation.

Vienna was standing in front of a fuming Avi. He was accusing her of just leaving him behind. Well, it wasn't her fault he didn't get in anywhere else. What? She was supposed to put her own dreams on hold?
She was fuming now too!
She opened her mouth to reply when she heard Blake explode downstairs, clearly screaming at Harley.
Everything was a ******** disaster.
Then he turned back to her, almost to her surprise, and asked her when it started again.
"This could be a ******** prescription, Avi. It's ******** Klonopin. It's for people with anxiety. Which I'd say I ******** have had a lot of, don't you think!?" She gestured around them. "And honestly, yeah. If I'm gonna die tonight I'd rather do it in an altered state of mind, wouldn't you?" She shook her head. "Wouldn't you get a god damn anxiety script if your ******** best friends were murdered? Oh wait, no of course not. You're mister cool. It's all handled right. Just forget feelings. Bury it. Just wait until you explo--" She stopped, shifted subjects instantly.
"I can't believe you're really going to hold me leaving against me, either. You know getting into NYU was my ******** dream since, when? Forever." She rolled her eyes. "But it's not all about me, right? And partying with whoever? What, you think I was just running wild every night with a bunch of sex crazed guys? And do drugs? For chirsts sake! You'd have no ******** idea what I'm doing anyways. You never made a ******** effort!" She threw her hands in the air, turned and grabbed the baggie, and slipped passed him into the hall, headed for the bathroom, ignoring the other situation beneath them. Part of her wished he'd chase her, part of her wished he'd just leave her be. Let her escape....her head was spinning....

Levi was helping gather things in the kitchen, mulling over what DJ had said. After everything, no matter what happened, he did love him. He'd protect him. He cared. They did love each other.
But was love enough?
His mind was racing, but he was packing anyways, careful to only grab things they'd need. Then the girls were screaming. They entered just as Blake shoved Harley backwards, and fired off. He found himself clenching his fingers around DJ's hand, holding them closer than they'd been in longer than he cared to admit. He felt he needed him now, in this moment. He had never seen Blake so crazed. She was erupting, shouting and throwing basically a fit. His eyes widened, she wasn't exactly wrong. Harley was self centered, cheated, and wanted to act like it was nothing. And apparently, Blake grew a hot head in the last year. It was almost scary. "Should we...maybe not watch?" Being around it made him uncomfortable, so he whispered to DJ, asking for an out.
