 This time it was a pumpkin that evaded her claws. Grinning up into the cheerful face, she began to laugh helplessly and shake her head. She was beginning to wonder if these things weren't being brats on purpose.

 Total miss.... "Oh you are being brats, no nightmare is going to want you and give you loving homes if you keep on scratching them up and avoiding them...." her lower lip wibbled as she missed another one but she was going to cry. She was going to win. Pherein hated losing and if she gave up the bratty familiars were going to win.

Okay. Yeah. They were definitely being playful brats. She couldn't smell any fear on them.
Or at least not much. Though they were probably more scared of the game ending than of being caught.

Zahneel couldn't help herself. As silly as this hunt had become, she couldn't help the tiny, gleeful howl that escaped her. She doubted that this was the kind of hunt that Myles pack would esteem anyone for, but it was at least fun.

Tail wagging, Zahneel crouched for a moment, panting hard from her exertions. Golden eyes were watching the way the familiars were moving, hoping to discern a pattern to the madness.
Except there was no pattern. There was only frantic scrabbling.

For a moment, Zahneel considered being as still as possible and hoping that one of the beasties would come close enough to grab.
Then she figured, why not? Sitting very still, she tried to silently will one of the animals into her reach.

Okay. So. The quiet approach didn't seem to be working, but Zahneel was willing to give it another go as sitting so still gave her a chance to catch her breath and try to think of a better plan.

Familiar won! Claiming #10 (blue fox thingie)
Leaping after one of the strange foxes, Zahneel suddenly pulled up short as a weird little froggie looking thing scuttled across her path.
"What are some of these things," she muttered dazedly. "And why is the silly Wisp still blowing raspberries at me?"
This time as she leapt, she managed to get one hand around the hind leg of a sky blue fox creature. Holding on for dear life, she pulled back gently and threw her other hand out to seize the fox's scruff. The fox, in the meantime, seemed to still be viewing this as a game and was wagging it's tail happily and Zahneel managed to gather it up and get it and herself out of Ava's office.
