Althea rushed up the steps to the old mead hall of Jorrvaskr, and quetly tried the door to be sure it was a public place. She walked through the door and saw Niall immidiately, plainly seeing she was distressed. "Can we talk in private?" The elf muttered quietly, her eyes scanning the people in the room. Niall was an intuitive man, and Althea could see that he wanted to help. If his stories in the mead hall and what he told her at their table the previous night, her issue seeme to be right up his alley.
Niall led her down stairs to his quarters under Jorrvaskr, a large room with mutliple weapons hanging on the walls and rare, enchanted items in display cases. Althea wasted no time, and told her story, the entire truth, even about killing them in the lobby of the inn.
As Althea cooled from the run up to Jorrvaskr, she pulled a leather strip from her belt and pulled her hair back at her neck. She had showed Niall the bounty letters and explained she figured they had her mistaken for this Altmer.
As Niall thought for a long moment, Althea's mind raced. She looked over the bounty letter in her head, over and over. Then she realized: Drelfa. She stayed in a room at some inn in Whiterun. Althea mentally kicked herself for being so inept. The Bannered Mare, where Althea herself was currently staying, was the only inn in Whiterun.
The second she realized this, Althea Quickly told Niall: "I know where we need need to go." And rushed out the door that hadn't even closed yet, straight to the Bannered Mare.
>small time skip<
Althea didn't know if Niall had run after her, nor did she turn to find out. As she approached the inn, she entered through the kitchen door that led to some stairs that let up to two rooms: an empty one's and Drelfa's.
Althea scanned the kitchen and doorways for staff or guests. A servant girl was there, serving ale and keeping the lobby tidy, along with a dark looking-fellow who had an odd sort of grin on his face, though he definitely wasn't smiling, and a poor man in the corner who was sipping cheap mead.
A hand rested on her shoulder and she nearly jumped out of her skin. She'd have screamed under less serious circumstances. Naill, standing next to her, had slipped in behind her. He had a focused and determined look in his eyes. Althea told him they might find the Altmeri woman here, or maybe information leading to her. She assumed one of the upstairs rooms was hers, as she already knew the tenants of two of the first-floor rooms, and the others were vacant. Althea pointed to both the rooms at the top of the staircase, and motioned for him to check one for inhabitants, and Althea the other. Niall nodded and the straight up, Althea still in the lead, dagger drawn. One room had its door open, and the other was shut. Althea tapped on it with two knuckles. When no reply came, she cautiously entered and shut the door behind her. No one had seen them climb the staircase, so she had a few moments to search the room. As she went through the wardrobe and found nothing but clothes and shoes, Niall cracked the door and informed her the other room was empty. He then stood at the staircase as gaurd while Althea searched the rest of what must have been Drelfa's room. She went through the nightstand and found some gold, a couple gems, and a folded piece of paper. She read the letter, and recognized it as the same bounty letter she had obtained from her hunters' pockets. She left all the contents where they were, and searched the second drawer. The only thing inside was a second piece of paper. A letter, apparently from someone Drelfa knew. She pocketed the letter immediately, deciding it was better to read it somewhere safe rather than getting caught in the act of illegally taking things from other guests.

Arcan Lor

spacer The Altmerian Vampire took a sip from his cup at a table in a dark corner. Then heard an unlikely couple barge into the inn. To him, the couple were of the married type, especially from the way they acted, but that assumption can be wrong. So, to get the couple's attention the Vampire decided to say a proverb out loud, "A mouse who doesn't want the attention of lions shouldn't squeak." Hoping that this would get their attention, Arcan then leaned back into his chair, flipped his black hair back and let the shadow of the dark corner cover him slightly.

Although Arcan is making a big risk seeing that the couple is made up of the fighting sort, he would be outmatched in both armor and weaponry. Granted he can heal himself if need be, but Restoration is not his expertise. So, instead, Arcan tilted his head to show the common facial features of an Altmer, minus the full gold skin at the moment, he's still pale at the moment and his eyes would show a since of hunger, but his eyeliner hides the hungering look.

A waitress came by Arcan's table and asked if he liked another ale. Arcan told the waitress to give the couple each a pint and gave the waitress a few septims. If the quotation wasn't enough, hopefully the ale with satiate the couple's taste and attention. Since the couple ran up the stairs, Arcan had to tell the waitress where the couple went and told her to tell the couple that "The pints are from a curious friend with a quest." If the couple doesn't answer, Arcan would make the trip to the Thalmor Embassy, report his findings and hope to steal Ancano's assignment to investigate the College of Winterhold, because when fed, Arcan looks like an Altmer, he could use that to his advantage to get into the college without worry and gain the knowledge he seeks.

OOC: If you are wondering "Arcan" sounds like "Archon" and "Lor" sounds like "Lore." Also, I am looking forward to an awesome story along with this. Also, I am normally to the point when posting and I don't beat around the bush too often. I do though when there is action going on or extensive dialogue, but when there is little wiggle room for that, my posts end up small, sorry.

Additionally, Arcan still sound like an Altmer Thalmor despite him becoming a vampire.

OOC: I know I changed my Display name from EldritchTaranis and my avatar's gender.

Niall blinked several times as Althea told him her tale the whole situation reeked of intrigue that. he would usually try and avoid, but in the end his altruistic nature and desire to help others won out. Pocketing the letters he had been given to read at a later time, preferably when there were not armed men about looking to do harm. hurrying to catch up to Althea as she made her way to the Bannered Mare but following several paces behind. Niall entered the tavern with his friend. as she cautiously advanced Niall took a slightly different approach, that is, walking around like he belonged in his mind that would be far less suspicious. as they proceeded up the stairs Niall noted that Althea had pulled a dagger, and if she was so on edge it might do him well to be on his guard too. reaching up he calmly rested his hand on the hilt of his steel blade. as they entered the room he cast his eyes about one more time and found the room thankfully empty. focusing on Althea he asked " Now what has you jumping at shadows Althea? what troubles you?" turning he shut the door and waited for his friends answer though his ears quirked when he heard the sound of footsteps on the stairs. shooting a look to the Bosmer he glanced at the wall beside the door, an ideal place for an ambush if needed. a soft knock thumped on the wooden frame and Niall opened the door with his face set in his usual neutral expression. though he blinked when he was greeted by a serving girl.

"The pints are from a curious friend with a quest."

quirking an eyebrow Niall asked

" And who would this friend be?"

glancing over to Althea wondering if she might have a clue.

Arcan Lor

spacer Arcan decided to get up from his chair and walk over to the bar once more. He figured to start some chatter with the bartender and make himself look less of a stranger. Most of the people in the room noticed him as an Altmer, but slightly more pale than the usual golden colored skin, so his skin color was a bit yellow but almost near-white. Arcan knew he would need to feed soon, but people weren't sleeping. He'd hope to let people sleep and feed on one of them then, or he can fight some bandits and drink the blood from their dead corpses. Nonetheless, Arcan needed to drink blood. Noticing a change in his eyes by how they felt, Arcan leaned his head forward so his hair and a shadow would cover his eyes. Much to Arcan, he wasn't built to hold a sword or to wear heavy armor, he trained in magic and lore only. Bits of Arcan's original personality is slowly going away because of his change. His love for the Thalmor is soon gone, he doesn't desire to be on any side in the war between the Stormcloaks and the Empire, also he is starting to not have any care for those around him. Eventually, Arcan would become so far into a vampire that all he would think is blood. Granted, he has already slowly lost interest in the search at the College of Winterhold and is now thinking about taking his revenge on Ancano. Arcan took a tankard of ale and drank as he waited for the two

It isn't a problem, as long as you don't mind me subtly controlling your character in my posts, since he is with mine. Thanks for replying though. I'm going to post right after I finish this. xD

No sooner had Althea stowed the letter, Niall thumped on the door almost silently, and she took it as a sign they had a visitor. She
peeked through the crack in the door and recognized a servant girl of the inn, and she held two pints of ale on a platter. She explained that they were from "a curious friend with a quest."
Althea decided a servant girl wouldn't be suspicious of her coming out of the room, because she wasn't the innkeeper that dealt out the rooms, so she stepped out to the top of the staircase. Niall questioned the girl as to who the person was, and she replied: "I don't know his name, but from what I gathered, a traveling mage. Very polite, yet seems rather spooky. But, these are paid for, so here you go. Thanks for choosing the Bannered Mare."
The servant girl gave them the pints of ale and left to continue her chores, as if nothing about the whole interaction seemed strange to her at all.
Althea turned to Niall and spoke swiftly, yet pronouncing her words clearly so that their conversation was private."I found something that will probably lead us to this woman. However, I feel we should hear what the man has to say. I'm going to sit with him and drink this pint he paid for. Once I've finished it, I'll excuse myself and head to Jorrvaskr, where you'll be waiting." Althea gave Niall the letter. "Read this and see what you can make of it. I'll be there once I've chatted with that fellow over there." She glanced in the direction she saw the mage sitting when she entered the inn. "I shouldn't be long." She gave Niall a smile, which surprised even her, as she rarely smiled, and never at people, and started descending the stairs and began to make her way to the bar where the man sat, drinking ale from a metal tankard. At one moment, she glanced furtively behind her, only to see the reflection of light on steel, next to a stringy blonde ponytail, as he left the inn through the door they had entered. She turned away immediately as she neared the man and took the seat next to him, setting her tankard down with a thump. "Is there something I can help you with, sir?" The question itself seemed slightly rude, but the way she said it emphasized her civility in the matter, in hopes is kept the man at ease.
Althea had no idea who this stranger was, but she knew she had proved herself to be quite capable of protecting herself, on multiple occasions. Most people would consider this as arrogance, however she knew that she was just confident in her skills and nothing more. She never picked fights or tested her strength in some idiotic way. Instead, she practiced and hunted.
Needless to say, Althea was relaxed enough to take a large chug of the tankard the man beside her had bought for her, and wait for his story.

Arcan Lor

spacer Arcan pulled his hair behind his ear so the young lady can see his Altmer facial features. Then he took the woman's hand that questioned him and kissed it awhile noticing the warmth of the blood in her veins. "As you may have notice I am an Altmer, the name's Arcan Lor. I need help on a task up in Winterhold. There's a Thalmor agent I am tracking down." Arcan took a few more sips of his drink. Then proceeded back to his story. "The quest is simple: Help me get to Winterhold, stop this agent and in return, you'll get a good sum of septims and a powerful ally. Any questions?" Arcan didn't know the woman's back-story or why she was in the city. To Arcan, this elf looking lady was a hunter by the bow she carried and her leather gear. Her friend on the otherhand, when Arcan saw them both go into the Bannered Mare, looked like a fighter. A caster, a fighter and a ranger is almost the perfect team. Arcan glanced around the room, seeing some disgusted looks from the patrons who noticed he is an Altmer. Arcan finished his glass and asked for a cup of water to wash down the alcohol. Then Arcan placed a Mage Candle over his cup after his drank the water, just to illuminate the light between him and the lady.

Arcan hoped that the she-elf and her companion would join him soon, if word gets out that there is a vampire in Whiterun, the town would be searching for him, but luckily his vampirism is not too noticeable.

Althea examined the man's face carefully as he spoke, wondering why it didn't seem like he was telling her the truth as to what he actually was. Altmeri had long faces, pointed noses, and skin almost the color of gold. Along with the usual markings of an elf- pointed ears, striking eyes, and high cheekbones. But something about this man suggested he was something more than what he claimed and appeared. His skin was gold, but it seemed faded slightly, unnoticeable unless you were looking closely. Althea felt an odd sort of aura from the man, one of power. When he spoke of Winterhold, she knew he must have been a mage. But the force eking out of him suggested he had a sinister agenda. It also suggested large amounts of the power itself, for she could not usually feel a mage.
Althea decided to deal with this one carefully. Her immediate thought was to postpone her answer to the stranger, and seek counsel from Niall on the matter. She had only known the man a short while, yet sensed a nobleness in him that she felt she could count on. Althea wanted to get to Riverwood and find this Drelfa woman.
Althea finally decided on an answer and told the mage: "I'd like to know a bit more about this quest of yours before I accept. I also need to speak with my.. friend about the matter as well. If we can meet back here at the same time tomorrow, we'll have an answer for you. If you are eager to get to Winterhold quickly and decide to seek other travel companions, please do so. However, your quest intrigues me. I shall be here tomorrow, same time. Good day." She dismissed herself and exited through the same door through which she and Niall had first come through, and walked fast enough, yet without running, uphill in the direction of Jorrvaskr. Her knowledge of direction surprised her, considering she was still a newcomer to this city. As she walked, both her eyes, ears and brain were all working furiously. The bounty on that woman's head meant danger for Drelfa and Althea herself. On the road, even in her inn. Althea wasn't the type to panic, however she somehow became even more attentive to her surroundings as per usual.
Althea thought about the strange man at the inn, and decided it was right to trust Niall more than him, which was why she was going to let Niall in on his whole proposal. Althea was interested in the quest, for it provided the chance for her to see more of Skyrim. Although tracking down the girl from the bounty would have the same benefit. Depending on whether or not Niall ended up trusting Arcan, Althea wanted to complete both quests she had already somehow stumbled into.
She approached Jorrvaskr, let herself in, nodded to a couple of Niall's companions she had met in the pub with him, and proceeded to the downstairs quarters, rounded a corner, and tapped on Niall's bedroom door.

Niall nodded as he could not fault Altheas plan. unfolding the letter, he took one glance up to his friend and stated simply "be careful." before finding a chair in the corner of there hiding place and sitting down to read.

as Althea left Niall focused on the letter his eyes widening as he read the text in contained, putting it down for a moment he picked it back up and read the signature once more. before whistling a low note " well I'll be, it seems the black queen of Riften has a heart after all... ah hells." folding the letter carefully Niall exited The Bannered Mare, using the kitchen entry so one did not see him depart. His instincts told him that anonymity would be his ally at the moment and so he took the alleys back to Jorrvaskr. giving only a grunt of acknowledgement to his comrades who filled the hall, he made his way downstairs to his quarters tossed the letter on to his work desk and sat down on his bed. his thoughts spinning a mile a minute. pulling out a whetstone he twirled the rock between his fingers for a moment before unsheathing his steel sword, running the stone over the blade to remove any burrs. the motion was soothing and helped him think.

when he heard a knock on the door he set the blade down, stood and called out " Its open." when the door opened to reveal Althea he nodded and gestured towards a chair, offering it to her if she wished to sit before picking up the letter on the desk " Well I can see how that could have you worried. either the quality of bounty hunters has dropped considerably to the point where they mistake one person for another or your a really good liar. Personally, I am inclined to believe the former. which brings us to the question, what do you want to do about it?" he set the letter back down and turned to face her. " and to whom do i owe a drink?" he asked finally inquiring about her meeting earlier back at The Bannered Mare.

Arcan Lor

spacer After Althea left the Bannered Mare, Arcan bought a bed for 10 septims that night. The septims were created magically from a few gold ingots he had in his pouch, which is the only thing he would need to create septims, a skill Arcan learned awhile he was at the Summerset Isle.

That night though, Arcan waited for everyone to sleep, his intention was not to infect people, that would create a pandemic in Whiterun. instead he decided to go into one of the inn rooms awhile sneaking and feed just the amount he needed to look his usual gold colored skin. Then Arcan whispered, "Although good, I should not make it a habit to feed on living beings." Then after eating enough blood, Arcan went back to bed and slept until sunrise the next day. Blood usually returns to a person after a few hours, its the bite marks Arcan was worried about which was why he decided to feed off of a female person with long hair rather than a short haired person.

OOC: Can we make it that vampires can feed off of newly dead creatures and humanoid races? Because I don't want to feed off of sleeping people all of the time. Plus if we were to make that into a rule, then we can do the same for werewolves?

Also, I wanted to change the game lore, instead of Ancano dieing at the end of that questline from the Dragonborn, we see Ancano on the way to the college from escaping his battle with the Dragonborn at the end of that questline.

{{OOC: It seems plausible to me that vampires and werewolves could feed off the recently dead, so yes, we can establish that. And the idea about Ancano sounds great. It will make for an interesting battle.}}
