Keira followed the man`s tail and without thinking she grabbed it gently and allowed it to lead her through the mists, the sprites hung back and followed. They weren`t upset, they simply congratulated her on the way she handled the situation. She smiled at the softness of the fur and subconsciously she pet it as she followed the man. *** "I don't remember my name... I won't think badly of her either" Tyvara said as she stared at the man,"... why my city?" She looked down and felt tears slide down her face for a city she didn't remember. She swallowed a sob and looked at Edward,"...Am I the only survivor?" She waited for the answer she dreaded but knew she must know.

His lip twitched slightly. "Do you not care for my name?" His voice carried through the mist. Barely paying attention to the smooth fingers that pulled just ever so slightly at the fur of his tail. If he were so preoccupied with walking then, then he might have enjoyed the soothing touch. "It's Senshi." He noted slightly the scent of the air, as the mists were slowly began to fade behind them. It would be a while yet but soon he would be able to smell her scent more clearly. ---000--- "You will remember your name, if you cannot then she will give you one to take it's place for a time." He sat and waited for a while, his eyes never leaving hers. Not willing to speak until the tears had slowed. "Maria led the charge, it appears that... yes, you are the only one left. The floating city is no more." His tone carried no hint of caring but his ears twitched slightly. "Calm yourself, take the pills and rest. Maria will return in time and wish to speak with you." He didn't move from his place near the door, "it has been many years since she has had a companion other then the men her father forces upon her."

"Senshi" Keira said, letting the name roll of her tongue. She smiled as the mists cleared and the calm darkness of the forest night enveloped them. She could see the forest thinning out as they progressed further. The air was warm despite the night, she watched the broad back of the man in front of her, "So, why did you follow me?" She asked him, her curiosity stirring about his nature and his origins. She listened to the bugs make their songs as she waited for the man to answer her. *** "All right..." Tyvara obeyed. She took the pills and laid down, they worked fast and effectively before she knew it the man named Edward began to grow hazy and when she closed her eyes she slipped into a deep haunting sleep that was filled with screams and a voice that yelled, "Vara! Go! FLY!" the face remained in the darkness of the dream, replaying to her over and over... sound with no picture to go along with it... she wished she could wake up... but no matter what she couldn't....

"You smell of humans and have fey blood, why would I not. Humans, are less then accepting of your kind, let alone my own. A spirit of nature born into a physical body, a demon." The two tails still wrapped around him uncurled and stretched out towards her, "these are simply pieces that are harder to hide." They seemed to flicker and fade for an instant before they became solid again. "I thought that perhaps one like yourself might know one, fey or human that wouldn't think less of a creature like myself. Lifting his hand to peer at the sharp talons. Coming to a halt when the air filled with the scent of burnt out cook fires and human filth. "Your... destination, I assume." ---000--- "General, you've returned." Rising quickly and bowing at his waist. "She is currently asleep, she appears to be healing well. The edges of her bruises have lightened in color and with a day or so she should be capable of rising without help."---000--- "You're dismissed," her eyes never falling on Edward. The pale color focusing on the winged woman, scowling. She truly hated being human, this woman would be healed in a day. Two at the most and she herself would be in pain for the next week. Her overtaxed muscles and fractured bones would take days upon days to heal. As soon as the door closed her face softened before she dropped in a pile on the floor. A muffle groan escaping her throat.

Keira thought about his earlier comment... smelled of humans but had fey blood. I suppose it could have been true that she was a fey child left in the forest. Her grandmother seemed to think she was special, that was the reason why the old woman had sent her off to find the Capitol city. "Yes, the first of many I think" Keira said, scrunching her face at the scent," Senshi... will you stay with me?" She looked at the man with a hopeful expression, she didn't want to go any where without someone with her and Senshi was the only one who she had befriended on her short trip into the forest. Surprisingly, she wasn't tired from her trek as most mortals would have been from the pace they had moved at, she hadn't even broken a sweat. *** When Tyvara woke she felt drained, her sleep was not one of regaining energy. She sat up slowly her body protesting against such movement, she persisted anyway and when her vision cleared she saw the woman from earlier on the ground. She got up as fast as she could and kneeled beside the woman, something from deep within her stirred and she remember something that was used very rarely because they didn't see much injuries among her kind. She unfurled a wing and took a single feather from her and it began to glow with a light energy. An Aegian could not use their own feathers to heal themselves but they could heal others when needed and never one after another it took a long time before the magic was replenished to heal another, a week at most.
She watched as the feather sealed the wounds on the woman's shoulders and she winced as she heard the bones correcting any misplacement and mending themselves, when it was done Maria's breathing was a lot calmer. Vara smiled and went back to her bed and lay down slowly and tried to rest as much as she could. She had healed the woman who had destroyed her home, yet she felt no anger towards the woman who seemed conflicted, deep in her mind she knew the woman hadn't wanted to conquer anything... she was doing her duty whether her heart liked it or not and that was forgivable Tyvara thought as she lay still.

Tipping his head to one side then the other, his face not changing as he thought about the options that would be presented to him. Finally seeming to settle on a choice he nodded his head slightly, letting the three thick masses of fur return to his waist. Curling them tightly, his whole body beginning to glow once more. Once it had subsided, the boy remained in his place. "It would be best, if I appear young. One who looks human holding power over a demon is not rare," if only he could hide his tails when he looked like this. He could have passed for human, if only around those who didn't have power. Scenting the air again, "there are many fey in this city. However, I doubt they are free to do as they wish." His words carried strong implications, "this city is under control of the emperor." ---000--- When Maria woke her hands trembled and her face twisted in anger. Curling her fingers over she crushed down the feelings, she should have been happy. She wasn't in pain, it was obvious that her bones had been mended. The anger came though, turning to glare at the creature that seemed to be asleep. "Why," her word snapped.

"Okay" Keira said, "Let's see if we can get a place to stay" They entered the village and many curious glances were cast at the strange beautiful woman with a child demon, some disappeared probably to tell of someone coming from the forest. It was rare that anyone went into the forest and came out... and stranger still that it was a woman who came forth... the fey that blended themselves into this mortal village were all male and she couldn't tell which were which but she guessed the most handsome were the ones that were from her supposed race. She looked down at the boy who had once been a handsome man moments before and smiled at him, "... let's find an inn... I'm hungry" *** Tyvara opened her eyes and stared at the woman, "Because I am not one to hold a grudge... I remember my name... but that is all" She looked down at her hands and then back up at the woman with green eyes, she smiled grimly, "My name... my name is Tyvara"

His eyes never turned from some spot in front of them that he stared absently at. It would pay nothing to ignore her but his ability to scent anything in this festering city was... hindered. Nodding softly, he waited for her to walk. To take the first step, uncurling his tails and letting the long masses wave in the air behind them. "There are many watching." As he fell into place behind her, his ears twitching slightly at the whispers and chatter from those walking the streets even this late and night and those behind the walls of the bars. "They plan to do terrible things to you. It seems even the slaves are thinking of you as a prize." Chuckling, "be... glad. As the only reason I can be in this city without being hunted is because of you, you will be protected." ---000--- "I didn't ask you to do this," her voice was quiet a cold. Pushing herself up and casting the armor aside. "Now they'll want even more, they'll want me to lead their marches on even the smallest of villages." Hissing under her breath, "do you know what you've done?" The side of her fist slammed into the floor, stilling herself and taking several deep breaths.
Maria felt them, tears she'd not let free no matter the pain she was in. Tears that she refused to let spill because she wouldn't show her weakness to her father, to her brother. Finally calming slightly, "it would be better if you hated me."

Keira listened the physical spirit beside her, she kept her gaze straight ahead and walked into the inn. "I need a room" she said, as she felt the eyes on her back and they eyed the three tailed boy. She knew they were wondering how she 'bound' that particular demon to her will, when she hadn't. She considered him her equal and had asked him to travel with her... a wise decision she now thought to herself. The man gave her a key and she took it, "Let's go Senshi" she said and turned to the stairs. When they entered the room she went to the bed and found that it was decent, almost better than hers had been at the cottage she once resided at. She laid down and closed her eyes,"I'll sleep... and when I wake we leave I do not like these people" she said softly. *** Tyvara looked down," Then betray them... if not then let me go... I can try to fly" she said and unfurled her wings. She looked at the wing that had been severed at the tip, and then at the complete one it would be possible for her to glide down but never would she rise on the air currents again. "If you won't fight against them... then let me try go ahead and warn them" Tyvara said," Or we could escape together... I can hold you as we descend"

He followed her without a word, his ears never really focused on her. Each whisper, silent movement of lips that would be missed by anything other then the beasts was another spike of accusation. Finally once she settled down onto the bed, he dropped near the door. Sitting with his back towards the thick piece of wood. Eyeing her, "there are three other demons nearby. They are weak, however they would have informed their masters that I've arrived." "If you wish to leave in the morning then it's of no concern, however, I must wonder at what you intend to do by staying away from all the towns. This region has already been taken over by great General." Turning his head, pressing his ear closer to the door when the footsteps stopped just outside before continuing down the hall. ---000--- "Neither of us can run," she said turning her head away. Dropping to sit near the same wall she had before. "I have a duty, and they'll kill you before you make it to the top deck." There was an emptiness to her voice that hadn't been there before. When her eyes turned back, they were devoid of life. As they had been when she'd left before, "I'm sure Edward told you, I'm that man's daughter."
"I as the inheritor of my mother's great will, am to lead our people to victory. Only once he rules this world will he let me free of my obligations to him and his people." Closing her eyes, "I would have died tomorrow if you didn't heal me. I would have been free."

"I don't know... I have to make it to the capital though... something there" She said quietly, "My grandmother knew things... and she is the one that set me on this course" She ignored the spark of loneliness that tried to sprout within her, she missed the old woman and was told they'd never see each other again. She closed her eyes and not long after she fell asleep, tomorrow she'd hear what the demon thought but for now she needed the rest. *** "Then I'm sorry for disrupting your plans... but what would have happened to me if you'd died?" Tyvara asked seriously,"Do you think they'd let me live? Do you think they would stay away from me? I think not... I'd have been raped or beaten... or both." She stood up and walked over to the sitting woman,"Now either we come up with something or you may as well kill me and then let yourself be killed someplace because I refuse to be a prisoner" She looked down at the woman, waiting for her choice. Would she die today, or would they work together... it didn't matter to her either way... she was ready for whatever choice was made.

Senshi didn't close his eyes, he simple stared at the window. His body slowly growing in size until the floor boards creaked and whined under the weight of a massive tiger. Black and striped white and three tails which wrapped under the bed and across it's top. The ears on his head twisting one way and the other. Through the night he heard nothing, all the humans seemed to silence their tongues. When the sun creaked through the window, when the day was just starting he finally rested his eyes for just a moment. A hind leg pressing against the window, his shoulder butted against the door. It would be enough, he would sleep once they left this place. His ear twitching as a small glowing light whispered soft words to him. ---000--- She said nothing, just curled tighter into herself. After several moments, "they would have just killed you. They don't take prisoners. The only reason you're here is because of Edward." He words were rough, thick and raw with unshed tears. "Don't you have a duty as well?" Maria hoped she would understand the words but didn't expect it.
"Do you really think they'd ever let me leave. Their General, their great power. The one who guides their army even if her brother is the one that commands it." Finally her eyes turned up, and in them was a broken woman. Strength and determination that filled them before was gone. "I don't know anything else. Just war."

Keira woke to find the room completely full of the spirit that accompanied her, she pushed one of the large tails off of her and she sat up, "Senshi?" She nudged him gently and stood on the bed and crawled on him until she came to his ear,"Senshi its daybreak I think we should leave... I want to lose them before they get any ideas to follow me... we can take to the country" *** "...I once remember I was needed to do something but it is vague now" Tyvara answered honestly. She turned to face the door and tilted her head, there must be away to get away if there was a chance they had to exploit it. Tyvara looked back at the woman,"...if all you know is war... then we go to war against your father... surely we can gather allies... if not... then I'll take my chances going alone, I'd rather die then be in here."

His ear twitched, a low grumble escaping him. "They can't get in." One of his tails wrapped around her waist, lifting her slowly from his neck. "We will leave in an hour. Give me a few minutes to rest," setting her feet down on the only bit of floor left that wasn't covered by his massive body. His ears twitched again, listening to the footsteps in the hall. "There isn't anyone close at the moment." ---000--- She just stared, closing her eyes. "You won't just stay here with me?" Her jaw clenched, the muscles in her neck pulling tight at the tension that filled her. "You would heal me, then ask me to run away? Turn my back on my family, to turn an try and kill them?" Almost mechanically she rose to her feet. There were no swift motions in her steps, just short and jerky motions.
Stepping up behind the woman, "if you can save me, if you can take me away from them," leaning her forehead down onto the other woman's shoulder, "I'll kill them all for you. Alone if I have to."

Keira nodded and sat down on the floor and leaned her back on the giant beast, she hummed to herself old melody her grandmother used to sing to her. She relaxed and smiled to herself, bringing up fond memories of her past. Her journey was finally beginning.... *** Tyvara nodded," Then let's leave here... I am healed well enough... you must lead us to the edge of the ship and from there... we will go... we must go when the guards plan to change shifts..." Vara looked out the little window and scanned the hall as far as the window would let her, "Edward may be able to help us somewhat... I believe I trust him..." she whispered.
