Wide, watery, and more greenish hazel eyes squeezed shut tightly as Tatayana tensed up, her arms were straight by her sides and her hands were in little terrified shaking fists, her face angled downward as if she were expecting him to hit her, but she just couldn't look at him anymore, she was too scared to even move or breath anymore. Why was this happening to her? She was a fairly good girl, she did what she was told and didn't get into trouble often. So she didn't know why she deserved something like this, but here she was, terrified out of her mind and standing in front of a man whom she didn't know, nor did she want to know, about ready to be in pain one way or another she knew.

Tatayana braced herself for the excruciating pain and counted the seconds that she had left before she would die, her breath coming shaky and slowly, making her mind run slow from lack of oxygen. The tears were running down her face by now, and she was having a difficult time holding back her sobs, opening one eye when he hesitated, looking at him with fear and confusion.

Tatayana opened both eyes and stared up at him when he pulled back from her neck. There was no pain, there wasn't a drop of blood around his mouth nor trailing from two little puncture wounds alog her neck, and she wasn't dead, and she was rendered speechless as a result. His words slowly sunk in as she looked at the door. He was giving her the option to let her mother and grandmother live, which she wanted, she didn't want them to die, but that would mean she wouldn't get to see them, instead she'd have to go and live with him as his... 'blood bank'? Why her? She was sure that there were many many other people who'd be a better option than her, "Bu-... but why me?" she asked, her voice was practically a dead whisper, but she was sure he could hear it, what with being what he was, "I-I'm only ten years old... a-and I'm n-not even a good ten year old, I'-I'm weird and m-my vocabulary doesn't match a t-ten year old." she said, trying to convince him to leave her family and her alone, but she doubted that'd work as well as she'd wish.

Tatayana bit her lip. She was scared, oh so scared, but what should she do? She was so unsure of her answer. She wanted her mother and grandmother to live happily more than anything in the world, but would they be able to do that without her? Of course they would, they weren't a very close knit family, so they should be able to move on after a reasonable amount of time... she hoped. She closed her eyes, again, thinking, her little hands slowly stopped shaking as time dragged on. After about five minutes of thinking, she looked back up at him, her eyes were wary and determined, "You promise not to hurt them?" she asked, swallowing hard as her voice cracked and her eyes held little tears just in the corners of her eyes, obviously being held back with all of her might.

She continued to look at him with her saddened and determined eyes, then she looked down at the ground, "Fine then, I'll go-- But you have to swear that you won't ever hurt them, not now, not later, not ever. And don't go using a loop hole by having someone else do it for you, I want my mother and grandmother to live a life that will NEVER involve you in any shape or form..." she said, her face set in a frown as she waited for him to laugh at her or something along the lines of humoring her for the fun of it.

Her eyes wide and her face shocked, Tatayana looked up at the man, "Wha- you meant tonight? I can't- I can't even have one more day with my mother and grandmother?" she asked, her eyes were getting watery again and her voice was becoming shrill, "But- that's not fair. I don't want to leave them now! Can't I just spend one more day, or-- or even 2 hours with them?" she asked, her voice and lower lip were trembling and her heart was racing. She knew that she wouldn't have much time before she was going to be taken by him, but the thought of it being right then and there never occured to her, and it was uspetting her terribly.

Had she not been scared stiff by him earlier, Tatanaya probably would have hugged him when he allowed her to stay with her mother and grandmother for one more day. She nodded briskly, not wanting to upset him and make him change his mind.

Tatayana cringed when he reached for her hair, shuddering slightly when he was gone and then she stood still, waiting for the lights to come back on. How would she handle tomorrow? She wanted to say goodbye to her grandmother and mother, but how could she do it without bringing up her situation? She sighed and closed her eyes, letting her hands loosen finally and hang limply by her sides.
