Leighton stepped from the shadows. See? Just like I told you. You're a king. They bow down to you. the voice chuckled. He loomed over Suki. "Please. Stand." he said respectfully.
Lilly looked confused. "The book is in English." she said, almost sounding like a question.
Leighton walked to her. "How can a mere human read my writings of night?" he asked her. The voice came back. Oh, Leighton. She must be special. The key to your power and highness. If not, you must get rid of the ugly creature. Leighton ignored the voice.
Lilly kept her posture as he approached her. Of course, she was fearful and urked but it might be best not to show it. "I don't know." she replied. "I can read it just fine." she looked over at Suki with a puzzled expression. Leighton's large wings was what made her fearful most. His wings were so dark colored and demonic looking. Oh, and his blood red eyes.

Standing slowly at the request, Suki stretched her wings carefully, avoiding the gaze of Leighton carefully. "Maybe she is also a creature of night." Suki whispered softly, knowing it would immediately be rejected as an answer. She turned her eyes to the roofs, seeing a faint red glow of eyes. "And I think we aren't alone. Perhaps we can go back to my home and discuss this. Would that be okay with you Lilly? I can carry you there if you aren't up to the miles of walking." Suki smiled lightly, enjoying the thought of having the king of night as her guest. It was already such an honor to meet him, but to have in her home...

Scarrlet jumped down from her perch, landing lightly in her stilettos. Laughing softly, she devised her master plan. She purposely let Suki see her eyes, making her want to leave, to protect the human girl.

Suki took Lilly's bag and slung it over her shoulder. Carefully arranging Lilly on her back, she took off running. When she reached the curb, she sprang into the air and began flying. The wind rushing through Suki's wings, she laughed with delight. "Isn't this amazing?!" Suki turned and dived, folding and spreading her wings at just the right second, avoiding the buildings and ground easily. A wide smile spread across Suki's face as she turned to west, towards her home.

Alex flew silently by Scarlett. He landed softly and walked slowly. "Scarlett." he called after her. He wasn't going to let her go with out getting in on her plans. He might want to be apart of it.

Leighton didn't look over at Suki. "I guess." he replied plainly.
Lilly looked solemnly at Leighton and wondered what was so wrong with him. Has he ever even smiled before?
"So where do you live, Leighton?" Lilly called over the howl of the wind.
Leighton cleared his throat. "I don't have a home. Too dangerous to have one."
Lilly looked puzzled. "Then where do you sleep?" she asked.
"A lot of places," he looked at her, his dark eyes sparkling. "Sometimes next to dumpsters, in a room in an abandoned building, on top of a high rise." His voice trailed off.
"Oh.." Lilly looked back to the city lights in front of her.

Alex met her half way. "Yes, actually. I want to know what you're up to this time." he replied smoothly. "I saw you watching them." His eyes were still glowing red from the scent of human flesh.

A demonic grin spread across his face. "And I can help you." he said coolly. "If we kill them, together we could rule the city." His sharp sparkling fangs went over his bottom lip when he smiled so devilishly. His black eyes looked at Scarlett with trust.
