Neoko was a bit offended by the oath, since it reffered to her as a tool, but understood that the wording had been the same for many centuries now and couldn't be changed simply for her sake. When motioned to do so, she took her place at Ryo's side. When it came time for them to adorn her with the head band of the protector, she could almost feel the hate pouring off the elder. He wouldn't even come close enough to properly place it upon her. That was fine with her, as she prefered it around her neck rather than her head anyways. The last thing was that handing of the scroll, and Neoko tried not to let her face betray her desires. The elder's were well aware that the scroll contained the secrets of the Nanjigan, secrets that would aid her in achieving her ultimate goal. She wanted to be able to read it, to figure out the true reason as to why there was such a large power gap between the main and branch families. But she knew she could not. Such information was only allowed to be viewed by the highest of clan athourities. When the cerimony came to an end, Neoko wonderder what was going to happen from here. Things were surely going to change for her, and that was made even more clear when Ryo brought up that she would be moving into his family estate. This worried her, for she was unsure of how others that lived there would take to her constant presance. She did not voice these concerns, for it was not the time nor place to due so. As Ryo had mentioned, he still needed to give a mission report. Neoko would not be the reason why the Hokage was kept waiting, and obidiently followed behind her Lord.
Mikon was glad that the cerimonies were over and that their squad would be getting a new member. She was even more happy to see that it was the girl from the training grounds that would be joining them. She let herself fall back into her more carefree nature as she caught up with Ryo and the girl. "You know Ryo, if you want to take saome time to get aquainted with our newest team mate, I can always give the Hokage the mission debriefing." Mikon then turned to Neoko and gave her a warm smile. "I'm Mikon Kusabana. We'll be seeing alot more of each other now that you're part of the team."

Ryo looked from Neoko to Mikon. 'Great, now my own team member is backing me into a corner. Figures the elders would rub off on her a bit.' Ryo thought in a joking manner. "Fine, be sure to tell him about the rouge rock ninja that tried to get the drop on us and that the Kazekage sends his greetings to him." Ryo turned to Neoko. "Neokona, please accompany me." Ryo said with a light smile and led the way out of the meeting room and into the garden. "I must apologize for the elders treatment of you. The old fools fear the lose of what sway they think they have over the clan. And I must commend you on acting with the integrity that you did. They must have pissed you off as much as they do me. I must also apologize for the oath as well. They forced me into a position where I had to take my place and I could not do so without it. But with all that now behind us, I am sure you have many questions. The branch families have little knowledge of the protector and I am sure that the elders let even less of that reach you. But first there are some rules. Unless we are in a formal situation where the clan will force it apon you, you must call me by my first name. There will be no lord and master between us. For you to truely be my protector, we must first be equals. Second, you are to speak freely to me of any matter that may concern you. Third, you may ask any question that you wish and I will answer if I am able. With that put aside, speak to your hearts content. For the elder have no sway outside the walls of that room." Ryo finished with a smile as he melted back into his relaxed posture.

"Will do captain." Mikonsaid in a joking manner, throwing up a peace sign before heading to the Hokage. When she reached him, she gave the usual bow of respect, but other wise remained rather relaxed. "I'm pleased to inform you that the mission was a sucess. The road between the Sand and Leaf villages was secured with the aid of the sand village shinobi and travle is safe again for those who need to use it. The group behind the assults were rouge nin from the rock and have been properly taken care of. Since they were apprehended on the sand villages side of the boarder, we left the criminals in their care. We were also asked by the Lord Kazekage to send his greetings and thanks."
Once again, Neoko followed as she was told untill they were no longer within the meeting chambers, but in the fresh air of the garden. She listened to all that Ryo had to say, and was taken off guard by most of it. Mostly by the part of being equals. Even she would not allow herself to believe that they could ever truely be equals. That aside though, she had many questions she wished to ask. Some of them were related to her new duties as his protector. These were questions like how far his sleeping quarters were from her own in case she needed to get to him quickly or what kind of protective measures have already been put in place to keep him safe that she would need to be aware of. Other's were questions concering people already living on the estate, or if there were certain schedules that she would have to adjust to. There were also many that involved her training as well as her new team. With all of these things she wanted to know, there was one question that burned inside her...one thing that she just had to know. Neoko looked to Ryo, pure curiousity and desire burning in them as she spoke to simple words. "Why me?"

Ryo looked at her for a moment before he could no longer restrain the laughter. He quickly regained his composure. He had expected this question but, was very pleased that it was now voiced out loud. "Forgive me. That was not meant to be directed to you. Your question has many responses and many of them, I am sure will please you. I have never liked the way the elders treat the lower branches. The fact that your Ynichie blood is thinner than theirs dose not mean that your blood is not just as important to the clan. And that will bring me to my first reason. I chose you because it would be no greater insult to them. But that is only my selfish reason. Weather the elders wish to ignore it or are just that blind, you are a very capable member of our clan with much potential. For that reason the elders have been holding you back as much as they can. I have now taken that from them. Even more, you will be learning from me, the 'most promising of the Yunichie.' And my biggest reason is that I wish to break the separation of our clan's hierarchy of the lower branch families. To do this I needed some one that had the determination to face the elders with me. Some one that has seen the worst of their mistreatment. That left me with only you. Once I found that out, I spent the last two years gathering all the information I could about you as a ninja and a Yunichie. You exceeded every expectation I wished to find in a candidate. There are of course more reasons but, they will come at a later time. As you come to fully understand the power that you will soon grasp." Ryo paused for a moment. "You have most like thought about asking for details about your job. And I think I can answer most of them with out you voicing them. Firstly, is you room. Your room will be right next to my own. You will only be a few steps away from my door. There is also a secret door that connects our rooms that you have full access to. The door will only open from your side. So you need not worry about your privacy. Whenever we are inside the compound of my home, you need not worry yourself about my protection. Along with the protection of the village we have plenty of guards on duty at all times. Next i believe you may wish to know is your training. Along with you being a part of my team, you will also train with me for one hour each morning. I intend to get you ready for the second stage very soon. I will also be teaching you the finer forms of our clans taijutsu. Eventually you will come to be able the predict your enemies motive before they make their own mind up. As I just did with these two answers." Ryo had been reading her movements the whole time and they gave away much of what she was thinking.
"Thank you Mikon. I am glad to here that Gara is doing well and that your team did so well with the mission. But more than that, I am quite impressed with how Ryo confronted the elders here. It took me years to be able to do that with the Hyuuga and I was married with Hinata by then. He truly is a fine young man." Naruto said with a smile.
Sasuke, who had been in a shadowy corner, stepped out and said. "Don't you be thinking about giving your title to him just yet. I will kill you before I let you retire early. And if I don't Sakura will." He said with a sly smile.

Mikon wasn't expecting to see Sasuke step out, nor the words he spoke. "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that." She said with a giggle. Chances were that she wasn't going to forget what she heard, or keep herself from using it to be playfully mean to Ryo. Other than that hough, she wouldn't say a word about it. Leaving the two to whatever conversation they may have, she left the chamber and when off in search of the other half of her team.
Neoko wasn't sure how to take Ryo's words. They reminded her that she was looked down upon by the vast majority, but they also showed that there were people who did not see her as dishonorable like the elders did. If Ryo truely was trying to change the seperation issue within the clan, she would gladly help without complaint. There was something else he said that bothered her, for it seemed that he didn't understand the situation as well as he may have though. "The elders are neither ignorant nor blind....but fearful." She turned her head away from him, looking now at the flowers that grew around them. "The elders view me as a strange weed that grows in their perfect garden. They fear that, if left to grow, I will destroy everything they've worked so hard on. They've done everything they could to keep me from what turning into what they think will become a threat, from stepping on me to cutting me back...everything other than pulling me from the very ground that I'm rooted in. They never stopped to think that this strange weed may not be a weed at all, but a rare plant that, if given the chance to bloom, could be the most beatiful flower they have."

Tou leaned against a pillar next to the meeting hall's main door, waiting for it to be over. As Mikon walked out, he stood up and turned to see his friend and teammate.
"Mikon! It's good to see you are still well. How is Ryo?" He seem to be agitated by something, but was trying his best to hide it.
"I hope that everything goes well and we can be sent on another mission. I don't think the people here are pleased by my presence, despite the work I have done for them." He sighs, and shakes his head.
"Never mind that. How are you, Mikon?" Tou says with a slight smile, his eyes showing his admiration for her beauty.

Mikon had only gotten a few steps out the door when she heard the familiar voice of Tou call to her. She went up to him, her smile still ever present on her face. "Hey, I was wondering where you went. Ryo's doing good...I think. At least he seemed to be in a good mood when he left with Neoko. Oh, Neoko's the new girl who's going to be part of our team starting today." Mikon could tell there was something wrong with her friend. He seemed a bit...sad. "Don't take it personal Tou. The people here just aren't fond of outsiders, and Ryo did quite a bit to tick them off, though Lord Hokage was pleased with how he handled it. Speaking of the hokage, he commends us on a mission well done." After giving Tou a brief idea of what had happened in his absance, she was able to answer his final question. "I'm not lying in a hospital bed, so I'm doing great." Mikon said this with a light laugh. So long as she was able to live the relatively normal life of a shinobi, she was happy. "Come on, we should find Ryo and det to know the new girl."

Tou nodded. It was good to see that Mikon was still well and in good condition, despite her cancer.
"Alright, let's go then." He said, letting Mikon take the lead and direct him to where the new team member was. "Is there anything you can tell me about her?" He added as they approached Ryo's house, his eyes scanning to give him some clue to her identity.
"I'm terrible at meeting new people, as you know, and it would make the situation easier if I knew a bit about the person I'm supposed to meet. But you could always drop me into the situation..."

"Weellll...she's kinda hard to explain since I don't know much about her myself." Mikon started explaining as she lead the way to the garden as best she could, looking out for large groupings of flowers to point her in the right dirrection. "She's a member of the same clan that Ryo's in, just part of a branch family. That much I know for sure. I'm don't think alot of people like her though for some reason. The elders in particular were being rather hateful to her." Mikon let out a sigh. She was proving to be of little help in the details department. "Other than that, the only thing I can tell you is her name...Neokona Yunichie."

Tou also sighed inwardly at Mikon's words, keeping his slight smile on his face to keep Mikon happy. He thought to himself, "This is going to be difficult, no matter what I do. Just great." He then remembered back to all of the other times he had meet complete strangers, and the wildly varying results that he had got from those first interactions. Most of the aforementioned results had been undesirable. Still...
"Thank you for telling me this, Mikon, and you know what? I think I'll step beyond my conversation flaws and make a good first impression this time." He then genuinely smiled, a bright and radiant flashing of his teeth with a smirk of the lips as the two of them entered the rose garden.
He called out in a loud tone so that it could be heard all over the rose garden, "Neokona Yunichie?" His afterthoughts to this action were, "I hope this was a good decision..."

At the sound of her name, Neoko turned her attention away from the flowers that she had been staring at to find to one who had called for her. She saw that there were now two shinobi coming her way, one of which was the female outsider. There was a male with her as well, most likely the other team mate and the one that called for her. Neoko wasn't sure what to do. They were still a good distance away, but she couldn't go to them without leaving Ryo's side. She could only think of one solution. Stringing together a few handsigns, Neoko used a simple clone jutsu. The clone would be the one that went to the others while she stayed where she was suposed to be. The clone weaved its way through the garden paths, making its way to the other two members of the team. Upon reaching them, it gave a bow. "I am a clone of Neokona Yunichie, sent to escort you to the true me and Ryo."
