Puck gave his nephew a friendly push between the shoulder blades to keep him moving, “Keep going, peacock,” he encouraged with a good-natured grin. It had actually taken a bit of cajoling to get the boy into his finery, much less to go to the party. Apparently things weren’t going too well with his betrothed, and plus Robin never did like being the center of attention. However, Puck was eager to see Anlu since she had been so careful to keep her appearance hidden from him. His own clothes weren’t that fancy. A pair of black slacks tucked into his (polished) black boots like usual for him, they were improved only by the panel of silver embroidery going down the seam on the outside of the legs. His shirt was hidden by his coat, the navy blue fabric given an illusion of silver embroidery along the hems.

“Uncle!” Robin protested, swiveling his head around to glare at his uncle as he tried to dig the heels of his formal boots in. They were subtle brown leather, edges with gold embroidery along the tops. Cream slacks with bronze and gold embroidery on panels on the seams on the outside were tucked into them, and his white shirt with a slight ruffle was tucked into those. Not that you could tell, with the bronze-brown vest worn over it, and a heavy chocolate brown nobleman’s coat over that, heavy because of all the gold embroidery literally all over the thing. His hair was in a picture-perfect braid down his back, and only the crystal horn in his forehead and the feline quality of his eyes ruined his appearance on a human level. “Look, I don’t want to go,” he argued, crossing his arms in annoyance once through the door.

“Tough,” the older demon said with a clap on the shoulder, “Now, go be nice to your betrothed, I have my own girl to see to.” And a very lovely one at that. He grinned as he made his way over to his lover. Hello, kitten, he greeted mentally, letting his eyes scan her from hair to fingertip. “Miss me?” he asked out loud as he reached to wrap his arms around her. It had only been a few hours, but still. He hated being separated from her.

Adjusting Kalina in her arms as she walked into the room, Mori looked over her shoulder for Jon. She had the happy twin, who had been a splashing little mess earlier during the bath and otherwise had been perfectly willing to go with them. However, with the crowds… It had just seemed smarter to place Dae in the care of the parent she seemed to prefer, which was Jon. The loose, flowy dress she wore hid the slight bit of weight she had still from the pregnancy and suited her slightly fuller shape that she would no doubt have for the rest of her life, and her hair was up in a bun that was similar to the one she wore when she was married, this time with her amethyst combs in the twists rather than the complex ribbons and combs from that day. “Is she alright?” she asked Jon quietly, obviously worried about her other daughter and her dislike of crowds.

Kalina was quite content with where she was. Her rabbit was safely in her arms (okay, so one ear was technically in her mouth), and despite the stuff shoes Mommy put on her feet, the bath thing had been so much fun she didn’t even care anymore. However, she was prepared to defend her sister if she needed to. Her awareness of her twin hadn’t changed any since they were born, and Kalina had developed a habit of being protective of her sister. After all, when both of them were crying, it made their parents come that much faster. It was common sense to Kalina.

Dae was quiet as well. The bath had been nice, though she had wanted to do something to Kalina for splashing her. However, she reserved her opinion about what was happening now. Her toy cat was in her arms, hiding her mouth she was cuddling it so hard (especially for a baby). Something about the entire situation had her wary. Her parents were up to something, she just knew. She curled her body closer to Daddy, wanting the reassurance he offered.

(Yes, I tuck Jon with Dae. razz And here are all FIVE of my characters (I can't say Striders, I don't know WHAT Robin is). stare )

Anlu's smile reached her eyes as Puck drew near. Hello to you as well. She leaned into his embrace, with a soft expression on her face. "Of course I missed you... you look wonderful, by the way... as much as I can tell, anyway." She loved the color blue, and it looked good on him. I do hope the two "young ones" behave, though... It's wishful thinking, I know

Claire watched as the older demon claimed his mate and her gaze drifted over to Robin. He looked very nice, much nicer than she, in her own opinion. What was she supposed to do now? Pippa had run off, so she couldn't use the cat as an escape... Sighing, she stepped away from Anlu, giving her some space as she now had new company. She had to go somewhere, and clsoer to Robin was not an option. She didn't want to attack the food table so soon, but... she could use soemthing to drink. Stepping into a shadowed corner, she shifted herself to the other side of the ball room and started to examine the different options. She'd... never had wine before... what was that like?

After successfully maneuvering the musicians into the arrangement she liked, the captain placed her hands on her hips. Giving a nod to them, she moves off to look around as the warmed up quietly. Noting Loki and Pippa messing around, she frowned slightly. You'd better not scratch my floor. she snaps at him through their mental link, fixing a faint glare on the large creature. Sighing faintly, she turns again to note the entrance of a large group of people, most of them of demonic descent. Her features lit up, noting the entrance of her favorite half demon, and new favorite quarter demons. It seemed Jon was lagging behind with the fussier of the children. She slipped across the room, heading towards Puck and Anlu for now; she'd wait for Jon to catch up to his wife before she approached her. "If it isn't my favorite human/demon couple." she grins, stopping a few feet away. The captain examines each of the couple carefully, admiring their finery. "Don't you both look lovely. Especially you, my dear Anlu." as she admired the embroidery in the bodice of Anlu's dress, she notes something... out of place. Her eyebrows draw slightly downward in question, her lips pursing together in thought. "How very strange...." she comments, not going into detail. Eyes flashing about the girl's body, she wonders what could be the matter. "Anlu?" she asks, trying to understand what was up. "Have you been feeling ill as of late?" she asks, wondering if it was just a cold.

Anlu's face turned as the Captain approached. "Hello, Captain." She brushed a hand over the front of her dress. "Thank you. The color of your dress goes nicely with your hair. I'd further compliment you, except I can't see the details." A small bit of laughter escapd her lips... and ended just in time to hear the Captain's concern. "Oh... no... I haven't been feeling sick..." Her mind wandered back to the past couple of days, trying to determine what might have made the Captain ask such a question. "Do you sense something wrong with me Captain? I've had no symptoms of sickness... no cough, sneeze, itchyness, soreness, or antyhing of the sort." Her mind stoipped on one incident that was just two days ago. Her body tensed slightly in Pucks arms. If that was a symptom... she didn't want Puck to know...

Sparing a smile for the girl's joke, the captain shakes her head lightly. Straightening up, she crosses her arms casually. "Oh, nothing, most likely. There's something about off about your aura, but probably nothing to worry about." she shrugs, brushing it off. She noticed how the girl seemed to tense, and she tried her best to smile reassuringly; even though the girl probably couldn't see it, it was more for Puck's sake anyhow. "Probably just a simple vitamin deficiency or something of the like." she waved a hand lightly in dismissal, as if it was nothing of importance. She'd talk to the girl later, when her demon companion wasn't hovering to maybe get some more in depth answers. She was more likely to get them if Puck wasn't around to fret and worry.

Loki started to walk twords his mistress after putten the little fluff ball onto his back.

Pippa was plopped onto the bird-dog's back and started to scamper from his head down to the base of his tail and back before starting to knead at his fur to make him a more comfortable spot to sit and curl up. My spot... myspotspotspot my spot!

Jon was just a step behind Mori with little Dae wrapped in his arms. It had been a while since he had had to go to any sort of party yet he had been fortunate enough to find something to wear. His boots were freshly polished into a deep black from their previously scuffed state. He wore black pants held by a leather belt with a buckle that resembled two intertwined snakes in silver. His shirt was the same lavender as Mori's dress and it was tucked in. This was brought together by a long black over coat made of wool. For once in his life he didn't carry a dagger which felt weird but Jon was certain that he wasn't going to need it this night. He was smiling and seemed to be reenergized from the past week. "Yes she's doing alright, though she seems a little tense." He and Mori had shared the same fears about Dae since the Captain had informed them about this little party of hers. It seemed though that the true size of the event had been understated by the captain. What else is new. Either way the girl seemed to be trying to get as close to Jon as possible. "Maybe seeing the captain will make her feel a little better."

Glancing over her shoulder, the captain smirks at her Guardian. Oh, quite your whining. You know I'm happy to see you. With the motion, she noted the entrance of Jon, carrying his youngest daughter. When she was finished speaking with Anlu and Puck, she'd probably wander over to the young couple and their children; they were the main reason she had thrown the party, after all. Turning her attention back to the winged wolf, she spares a quick grin as she noted his passenger. I see you found our newest winged friend. I never knew you liked kitties. she comments, momentarily surprised at this. She supposed it made sense, really; Loki tended to like small, cute things. It was no wonder he had decided to show up here, where there were bound to be two children.

Chuckling at Anlu’s compliment, ducking his head down to kiss her cheek, “Thank you, kitten. And you look amazing.” His girl cleaned up very well, and he was thrilled to be on her arm. They will get along or the captain will shove them into a closet to work out their… “differences,” he mentally drawled to her, hoping she would catch the induendo. And if she didn’t, he had plans to. There was only so much he could take, and embarrassment in front of the other Striders was not part of it.

He smiled charmingly at the captain as she approached, though he wrapped his arms slightly tighter around Anlu in reassurance. The captain’s beauty could do damage to other females, and he wanted Anlu to be sure that he was quite firmly hers. He frowned, though, when the other woman began questioning his about her health. Was Anlu keeping things from him…? That frown didn’t move when the captain tried to dismiss it. If something was wrong with Anlu’s health, he really wanted to know. The way she had stiffened up seemed to indicate she was keeping something from him…

Scowling as his uncle abandoned him, Robin kicked his foot sullenly, before a flash of movement caught his eyes. Ah yes, his betrothed… He rolled his eyes. What the hell? Why not? Making his way the long way through the crowd, he pointedly avoided talking to others and moved as quietly as possible. He didn’t want her to spook, after all, not with that shadow ability of hers. Once he was safely behind her, he set his hands on her bare shoulders. “For me? You shouldn’t have,” he immediately teased as he ran the palms of his hands along her skin. It was very pretty, smooth and slightly scented in a way that wouldn’t bother the nose of those like them who had demon blood and thus heightened senses.

(And I shall wait for the captain or someone to approach before I reply as Mori…)

She grinned. I hope they don't get too carried away then... after all, I hear enough of it back at the house. Anlu nodded, slightly. "Of course... lack of vitamins... I'll pay closer attention to my diet to make sure..." She tried to relax her body, but failed miserably. What was wrong with her? The... incident... was completely unexplainable to her, as something of that sort had never happened before, to anyone in her family or clan. "And... perhaps I'll examine my things in the basement as well... make sure nothing has been spoiled, or anything of the sort..." Yeah... that has to be it... I think... but I'm immune... so... I don't know... Biting her lip, she touched her throat with two fingers. "I think... I need a drink..."

Claire sensed Robin drawing closer and refrained from tensing as his hands went to her shoulders... and then along other bare areas. "Um, sure... here..." She gave him the glass she had just filled, using her left hand to hold it over her right shoulder. What was she supposed to do..? He was, at leats, acting nice... and... his hands felt... good. And... he looked good, too... It was like she was frozen in place, torn between wanting to walk away because she was still annoyed with him and his big ego about her not being able to resist him... and then staying because... well, she couldn't... at least not very well, anyway. Her tail swayed cautiously. What to do, what to do...

Loki gave his master a slight mental glare and walked up to her he put the small fluff ball off of his back and sat on his haunches his wings wraped around his whole body and started to glow so bright that it blinded everyone in the room. When the light faded away a man stood in the ball room standing 6`2 and had a black feathered cloak right next to the leader.

"Hmph so were are the little ones that this fun party is being held for." Loki smirked lightly as he looked at his master.

"Wonderful." she smiled at the couple, already having decided to move on. "I must excuse myself, as it seemed that our main event has arrived." she flashed a mischievous grin, giving a nod of her. "Anlu, my dear, we really should have tea together sometime.... soon." she accentuates the last word, hoping not to draw the attention of Puck. "If you'll excuse me..." she nods to each of them in turn before turning away just in time to witness Loki's change. Frowning slightly, she raised an eyebrow. "You always did have a flare for the dramatic..." she shrugs, reaching out to pull his arm through hers. "If you'll just come with me, I was going to see them now. They are the very same ones within the abdomen of the pregnant strider I had you guarding at the Shimmering Coast." moving quietly across the room, she approached the four person family that had just entered.

"Mori, my dear. I'm so glad you could come." she smiled brightly, dragging Loki at her side. "And you brought the children as well. I'm quite glad you did, as Loki here came just to see his former charges." it seemed the woman was ignoring Jon for now; she would pull him aside and force information out of him later. "How are you feeling, my dear? Better, I certainly hope." she pulls Loki slightly forward, as if presenting him. "Do you remember Loki? He's the Guardian that I assigned to protect you at the Shimmering Coast only a few months ago." it was true that he had changed forms, but hopefully Mori could infer this. The captain hadn't given it a second thought, as to her it seemed completely normal.

Pippa did not want to be put down, and made this known as she bounced around, mewing, and clawing her way up his feathered cloak and the4n scampering back down, again and again and again. When he left with the Captain on his arm, Pippa made one last attack and managed to climb up to the spot between his shoulderblades and clung to the cloak with her tiny claws.

Loki walked alongside of his master but reached back and grabed the little puff ball off his back and held her close to his chest. When his master reintroduced him to the young lady he had been protecting at the shimering coast. He stood back up and scritched the puff of fur behind her ears.
