((10 rolled, 13 total, unfortunately you only rolled high enough for the obvious things and will gain no circumstance bonus on your next check. I'm being very open with the rolls because this is the only way I can keep 100% track of everything.))
As Aust moved closer he could bairly make out the very worn and dull symbol on the back of the woman's robes, a gray set of scales.
Knowledge(religion) check.

((Fixed. I liked that sentence too, oh well.))
Oz managed to catch the insult, at least he thought it was an insult. It could've been a compliment if strange was the same as special, but Oz wasn't about to make that association. He always thought better to err on the side of pessimism anyway.
He approached the man. He had a fresh face, well, fresher then most shmucks Oz practiced on. "You're familiar with aura's?" Informality was the rule here, avoid authority and don't belittle the mark's. Still, Oz found himself searching for some sign of the Order, surely they would've found someone so blatant.
A sick possibility arose, could this be a test of some sort? He wouldn't put it past his mentors. It was enough to keep him on edge.
((should I roll a spot check?))

((It's alright also I get a +4 Religion checks))
Aust took a seat in a near by pew as he tried to remember the symbolism for a gray set of scales.

((Not really, unless Oz is to pissed off to take a good look at the man before him then you don't have to. This guy is not nearly as secretive and unknown as the sleeping woman next to Aust. I'm doing this mostly because he found a cleric of one of my few custom gods. Where as Oz is just dealing with a wandering healer of Fharlanghn. And I just noticed I did that god's title wrong...))
"Not praticularly no. I only recently gained this power but it doesn't take much to know that your's is different from the other dog of the Order," the man said with a pleasent and disarming smile. Oz's hostility seemed to fade away for some unknown reason as he started to talk to the man.
~ (14 rolled + 4 = 18... Nice you passed the DC 10 and DC 15 challanges)
It suddenly the young Cleric, the rumors of a cult that was slowly gaining many followers. This woman bore the symbol of Sorynith, the goddess of fate and judgement. The Feather and Heart that were typically on those scales must have been worn away by time and travel.
((Sorynith is a true Neutral goddess with a tendency to meddle where she doesn't belong, giving her a slight bent towards choas, but not enough to make her C/N))

Helena merely nodded, signaling that yes was her answer. Figuring from the way he had replied back, this must be the Captain indeed. Quietly and patiently, she began awaiting to know what exactly this job would require, in terms of payment and dealing with what kind of creature.

"Its the damndest thing," the captain said turning back to the bounty board, "I've never known the beasts to come above ground and be so aggressive as to attack a town and because of their ambushes we can't really get much supplies out to my men in the forest investgating why they are here..." By this time Grendel points at a poster with the drawing of a group of monsters."I'm going to have you and any one else who joins up go out and take the supplies to my men in the forest. You'll be payed of course and you can keep what you kill."

Slowly at first he made his way to her once again internally though he was vastly pondering the possibility of how to go about the cultist. Before he found his mental resolution he found his hand gently shaking or at least trying to nudge her awake.

Helena nodded again, deciding it may be wise to try to wait to see if anyone else would want to assist her. She didn't doubt herself....though sometimes it was just better to be safe rather than sorry even on things like this.
"I'll be back later then to see if anyone else shall be accompanying me. I shall await at the bar if anyone stops by." She then bowed her head to acknowledge him then went back to the tavern.

"Name?" asked the guard caption as the woman walked out.
~
Grumbling silently at first but then awakening, the woman sat up and strached her head, her hood falling down to reveal her face and hair. Young and beautiful the woman looked at Aust with sleepy gray eyes, one of which she was rubbing with her hand, still covered thanks to her oversized robes. Long white/silver hair, though slightly messy from sleeping on a pew all night fell down her neck and into the robes. A sense of exotic beauty comes from her, though you don't know from where. Asking quietly, almost temidly she asks, "Who are you?"

Two things caught the wizards attention, syntax and feeling. The strange man said 'dog', not dogs; animosity perhaps? If there's animosity towards one magi then maybe he could snare this stranger in the order.
Paranoia swelled in his chest when his animosity faded, there was just no reasoning behind it. Oz didn't rule out being a victim of enchanting himself, but that was something that worried him deeply. No hand movements, no draconic words, either Oz was dealing with someone far more powerful then he or there was some other enchanter he wasn't aware of yet.
Still, he lacked the hostility to do anything rash. Oz knew this was a blessing, less hostility means he can keep his head clear, do what he was sold to do. "Really, mind if I ask what's so different about it?" An innocuous question, but if Oz wanted to boil this frog he'd need to build the heat slowly.

"Well to answer that I'm going to have to take a deeper look," the man said leaning back and raising up both hands, almost apologetically then leaning forward and looking into Oz's eyes, his face only inches from the wizard's.
As the man looked into Oz's eyes, it was impossable for Oz not to look back into the man's. A slight glow came from behind the light brown orbs, foretelling of some unknown power held behind them.

Before getting out of the captain's ear shot, she heard him ask for her name. "Helena." She replied, then continued on her way, taking a seat once she arrived back at the inn, deciding to kill time and relax while she had the chance to do so.

That was the final straw, paranoia was engulfed by an outright fear. It wasn’t the kind of animalistic thing that demanded fight or flight; it was the more human fear, the one that knew trouble would come and worried only the consequences. Oz was very tempted to resort to magic, all it would take was a quick motion of the hands and an esoteric word. If he could snatch the mind of the man that would be the end of it, checkmate, victory for Oz.
He wouldn’t though. Magic, no matter how subtle, was still magic. If the man had the kind of power the wizard expected then brushing off a simple snare would be cake. With the snare would go any friendly influence Oz could muster, slow and steady wins the race.
He had to admit, he was curious about his aura. Difference was somewhat expected, he was a specialist. However, this was the first time he’d been told of it. Still, he needed to keep the man talking if he wanted to get a leg up on him. “So, where’d you get your power anyway?”

The man leaned back at this point, giving Oz some space agian, "Where else would a Cleric get his power? From his god of course," with that he held up the gray peice of stone that held the Horizion Dweller's symbol that was on his left hip.
"I'm just really good a channeling my lord's power. You on the other hand have a power that comes from within yourself..."
((JESUS!! 100!? Really? Dear lord my eye is twitching. Okay Cookie I totally did not expect this... but Oz can quilify for a super rare class known as an Elementalist. For more details pm me because this guy isn't the best source for info on this class... He just knows how to check...))
