User ImageDarryl stopped pacing in 'his' room, tossing the butt of his cigarette into the toilet. Thankfully, with the door open from him looking out it, the room wasn't filled with smoke. Not that the detective would've truly noticed.

Somebody had the nerve to kidnap him(something he assumed, cause he sure as hell didn't remember coming to a place like this on his own and without backup), take his weapons, and leave him in this room. But why leave the door open? Why him? What the hell was actually going on?

Clenching his fists, he threw a couple punches at an imaginary punching bag. Yep, he still had some of his boxing skills engraved into his being. He'd have to be careful and rely on his fists until he could find something else to use if he ran into a hostile.

Opening his door so it was completely open, the detective looked down the hallway one way, then the other. Just a matter of where to go...and Darryl chose to go to the right. Perhaps he'd figure out something to give him some answers.

And perhaps, find who did this to him, and make them pay before he arrested their a** for assaulting and kidnapping a police officer.

Juliet continued her trek down the hallway, one hand set against the side of her head and the other resting against the wall. For the first few minutes, she had decided to focus on the painful throb in her head instead of the fact that she had awoken with hamster hearing in some kind deserted insane asylum. A head wound she could handle, dealing with the fact that she was currently (as far as she knew) alone in a type of Resident Evil was another matter entirely.

'If an undead horde comes around that corner, I'm pretty sure any sanity I have left will be lost,' She thought dryly, wincing as a kind of thudding entered her seemingly impossible hearing range, 'Ugh... What is wrong with me?'

Juliet hoped beyond all reason that the thudding was merely the echo of her heartbeat in the enclosed hallway and not a pair of footsteps. The more she thought about it, the more she decided that finding another person in this godforsaken place was a bad idea. Who knew what kind of company she would find? A part of her didn't want to know.

Whatever this place was, it had to have an exit. Either that, or she'd find the pile of bones belonging to whoever had sealed themselves in this hellhole of a maze. Juliet hoped that the latter was merely the result of her overactive imagination and not a reality. Going about this situation with a defeatist attitude wasn't going to get her anywhere. The best she could do was find some kind of air vent or window or...

She suddenly realized that a faint buzzing sound had entered the jumble of noises dancing around in her brain. The buzz was akin to something like the hum of a computer and Juliet wondered if she could somehow get a message out. Not that she knew where she was or if the internet was even an option, but she'd deal with those problems when she found the source of the electrical current.

'Well, maybe I should wash up first...' She mused, thinking that while she had wiped away most of the blood, there would probably still be a stain running along the side of her head and her jawline. 'The only problem is that I have no idea where that water is...' She glanced over her shoulder, hearing the faint sound of water from somewhere far off, but having no idea how to pinpoint it.

With another sigh, she adjusted the bag on her shoulder and stuffed her jacket inside. Luckily, the white button down she was wearing had material thick enough to hide the binding beneath, so she didn't need to worry.

'Not that I really need to worry whether or not someone mistakes me for a boy...' She loosened her tie and continued on, hoping that she'd eventually run into something other than white walls.

User ImageHow long have I been walking...? Figures I never keep a watch. That thought seemed to bounce around in his head for a minute, echoing in there. He never would've thought he'd miss the noise and hustle of the city. But, when the only sound you have around you is the buzz and hum of the flouresent lights, you apparently miss the noise of the world.

Of course, when he started to hear the light footsteps of someone else, he immediately stopped his missing of the city. There was someone else this close? A woman? A child? His kidnapper, who stepped lightly?

Too many unknowns. So, there was only really one option. Confront the person, badge flashing.

So, Detective's badge in hand, Darryl walked forward, rounded the nearby corner, and shouted "Police! Don--s**t!" It was a kid. And hurt, too, from the look of blood running from his ear. He stood there, a frown on his face. Oh, this kidnapper was going to pay for kidnapping a child.

"Are you still hurt? Do you need help?" Better to stick to procedure for this one...plus, if the kid's as confused as I am, having someone my size suddenly run up to them would probably make them freak out. "Are you alone? Or are there others?"

((OOC: Hey, Argyle, if you didn't want Darryl to meet up with Juliet, that's fine, just tell me so...or, you know, if I need to change something.))

(ooc: It's totally fine. c: I was just having her wander until she met up with someone. XD :not an instigator: )

As Juliet made her way down the stark white halls, mentally attempting to process all information swirling around in her mind, another more prominent sound steadily made its way into her auditory range. It started out as an abnormally loud heartbeat at first, before it suddenly picked up tempo. Juliet paused, a few feet from a nearby corner, and finally recognized the sounds of heavy footsteps making their way in her direction.

The steps were coupled with the shallow breathing of a smoker and some shuffling. The sound of removing an item, maybe? Well, whatever it was, she wasn't planning on sticking around to find out. As the noise increased, Juliet made the split decision to turn around and bolt for it. The only problem with her escape was that in her panic to leave, she ended up tripping over her own two feet and falling back into a sit.

She let out a small 'oof' as her bottom connected with the tile, leaning back on her elbows in an attempt to steady herself, 'You'd think for a soccer player I'd have more bal--'

Her thought was interrupted as a WALL suddenly obstructed her vision. This wall also came a very loud voice and caused her to lean back in surprise, feeling as though she might be blown away from the sheer volume. It took her a few moments to realize that the wall was merely a large human being (well, he was significantly taller from her point of view, anyway) that had rounded the corner with guns a blazing.

Or rather, he was waving around a metal badge like it was some sort of weapon.

Juliet winced as he began to talk again, apparently he wasn't as threatening as his first impression made him out to be, "I..." She paused, shaking some of the ringing from her ears before looking back up at him, "I honestly...don't know what's going on," She kept her voice low, as it was easier on her ears.

Maybe this was a good thing. This guy was a cop (or at least, that's what he said he was) and maybe he could get a handle on the situation. Whatever this situation was.

At his second question she winced again, wanting to shush him, but feeling that it was better to keep her complaints in her head when to came to authority. "I haven't...seen anyone, well, I mean, I heard--" She stopped herself, realizing that admitting what she had been experiencing wasn't the best idea, "...I think I...heard...other people..." She said slowly, knowing that what she told him wasn't a complete lie.

But there was no doubt in her mind about hearing other voices. She definitely heard people before. Where they might be, she couldn't say, but she and this cop were definitely not the only two people in the building.

User ImageDarryl frowned down at the kid, not liking the answers he was hearing. The kid, which looked like a 12 year old boy to him, didn't seem to know much more than he did, and hadn't seen anyone else, either. Actually that could be seen as a good thing, considering the kid could've been hearing their kidnappers...or other kidnap victims. Shiiiiiiiiit.

Darryl spoke, keeping his voice low. Although, that was cause he assumed the kid was shook up, from the way he was talking, and needed to help the kid calm down. "It's okay if you aren't sure. And it's better you didn't meet them, I would guess. At least not alone..."

Crouching down, Darryl put out his hand to the kid to help him up, and still spoke low. "I'm Detective Darryl Reed. You can call me Darryl, Reed, D, whatever you feel like. And I'll try to get you out of here, okay?" Smiling, which he hoped didn't make him seen that creepy, he asked, "Now, what's your name, kid?"

Juliet was thankful for the mellower tones, giving a small sigh of relief when the man's voice no longer sounded like a roar. She remained where she was as he attempted to reassure her in some way. Sure, she was thankful that he wasn't chewing her out for not knowing enough information, but she was a tad concerned as to why he was speaking to her like she was a child.

She watched as he crouched down to eye level (well, almost, even when he was crouching, the man was still a giant), a bit wary but managing to keep any sort of suspicion off of her face. She'd play along for now, but Juliet had no idea whether or not this cop was a friend or a foe. For all she knew, he could be working for whoever had brought her here.

She kept her eyes on his hand when he introduced himself, forgetting her manners for a moment, 'It's big...' She thought in slight surprise before blinking back to reality and looking back up at him and giving him her hand. "Mr. Reed, huh? It's, erm, nice to meet you," Does formality really matter in this sort of situation? She wasn't sure, but ran with it anyway, "And, uh, thanks..."

When he asked for her name, Juliet had a small moment of internal panic. A name? Should she give her real name? This guy was a cop, after all, he could do a back round check or...

She took a breath, realizing that there was no way he could know for certain what was or wasn't her real name. She already looked the part, right? For now, she'd keep her alias until she was sure that she could trust him. This was...for protection.

"...Jason," She said, keeping her voice low and giving him a quick glance before looking back down at her enveloped hand, "And as for the ear, I'm fine. It's nothing to be too majorly concerned about." She only hoped that were true.

After allowing him to help her up, she looked around for her bag, spotting it a few feet behind her. Some of the contents had fallen out and spilled onto the floor. Juliet suddenly remembered her stained jacket and quickly walked over, shoving the article of clothing deep into the bottom before retrieving the other two items that had tumbled out. A cleat and a...spoon? She stared at it for a few moments, not remembering how she managed to throw a cooking utensil into her bag before simply shrugging it off as an act from exhaustion.

After getting her things back in order, she turned around to face Darryl again, realizing that the man was just as tall as he was when she was on the floor.

"So..." She tried, attempting to ignore the fact that she felt dwarfed by this human being, "Do you know what this place is...? I was...trying to find an exit, but all I've seen so far are doors and hallways..."

Talon smiled as their new member of the group pointed out the only landmark he had seen had been his piss stop. He eyed up the boy, examining him over to see what he could do. Noticeably, he appeared more to be like Max's frame; more running and less fighting. Not that it was a completely bad thing, but it would suck if it came down to a brawl against someone (or something) in this place. Puffing on his smoke, Talon began to look around outside of the bathroom in the hallway. He swore he heard voices and buzzing, but there was no one around that he could see at least. it was obvious there were more people everywhere but their exact location was unknown. Part of him wanted to look for them, the other half just wanted to ignore it because the bigger the group would get. Could lead to more bad than good in his mind.

"Your Dad sounds a little unusual, but for all this to be him I doubt it. How could you explain us being here then? I haven't seen my family in a few months and as for Talon ... you know. I really don't know much about him in all honesty." Maxxi was watching the taller male and noticed the puzzled expression on his face. "Of course you can stick with us, come on!" Following the other's actions, Max stepped outside into the hallway and looked at the fire-starter again. With one final drag from his cigarette, the smaller male tossed it to the side before speaking, "What's up?"

Talon glanced at the other two for a moment. Should he tell them about the other voices or the buzzing. Tough decisions weren't really his deal so in his brain he began a simple game of deciding which to choose. Sure enough, the answer was the buzzing. "There's a buzzing coming from down that hallway." Pointing down the path, it looked like all the others. Maxxi knew him and Talon had not been down that way yet. And hey, maybe the buzzing would lead them to more people. But before they'd go off on some goose-chase, he figured he'd ask Jayden which way he came from. It would be stupid to just retrace someone else's steps if he'd already been that way and found no one.

"Hey Jay, you been down there yet?"

{OOC: I finally posted, sorry it's not a lot but I'm getting back in the swing of things. I say we go to the security room and look at the monitors and notice other people on other floors and get the ball rolling ;D}

User ImageDarryl's smile turned into a frown as Jason got his bag and stuffed his jacket into it. Of course, he only frowned because of the wooden spoon. Who in their right mind carried a wooden spoon? Well, his grandmother did, but that was for spankings when the kids got out of line...and she wasn't exactly in her right mind...

Darryl looked down at Jason, shaking his head. "In all honesty, I don't have a clue where or what this place is. I want to assume some kind of cheap hostel or something. Whatever it is, it's abandoned from the look of things, hence why are kidnapper is using...it. Well, I'm assuming kidnapper. Not like I remember coming to this place...nor would I want to."

Looking at the kid, something started turning the gears in his mind. Actually, the 'kid' was only two inches shorter than him, and from the cleat, was an athelete, hence the muscle tone. "You...aren't a kid, are you? How old are you?"

Ɉayden snorted to Maxxi's assessment. Damn straight his dad was...wait...a little. The man was a self proclaimed ZEUS for crying out loud. He was more than just a little unusual. He was...well...a...a lot unusual. Pfffffft. "...Well, if you did something illegal, then it's likely my dad put you here. But if you're innocent, then...I don't know. I mean...we could be on some t.v. show...or just overall kidnapped." A shrug was incorporated in his speech, his shoulders moving up effortlessly as he looked to the other two. A smooth grin soon stole over his lips as Maxxi gave the overall permission for him to enter the group. He immediately took a step after the other two, eyes going to the ceiling in thought.

"Help..."

"Huh?" Looking behind him, the blond ran a hand through the side of his head, fingers feeling at the nape of his neck. ...He couldn't be hearing things. That was just stupid. He couldn't be crazy. That just...wasn't acceptable. Unsure of himself, he glanced back at the others. "You two didn't hear anything...did you?" He was answered by Talon's reply. Aha! Buzzing! Maybe it was the buzzing and not the voice! Maybe the buzzing seemed like a voice! That was it! Just his imagination. Alright.

Looking over to where Talon was indicating, the blond arched an eyebrow. Still looking down the hallway, he shrugged. "I don't know, honestly. They all look the same to me. I just know that that way has the yellow tile," he muttered before stepping down in the direction Talon was pointing. Four steps later he turned and looked to them. "Whaddya say we check it out? It can't hurt much, and we might even benefit from it."

SO! Who wanted to go first?

Because it sure as hell wasn't him.

"Are you an idiot?" Asked a near invisible figure behind Maxxi, looking over at Jayden with an expression that read 'you're a complete idiot'. "If you think you're going to wander around here without getting hurt, then you're the type to give blonde's a bad name, y'know?" Wide blue eyes stared at the somewhat shimmery, see-through blob of whatever it was. His mouth was ajar at this moment, sounds of shock breaking through his vocal cords as he stared. The blob continued to shimmer there before moving up and then down slightly. "Don't say I didn't warn you, brat. See ya on the other side, I guess."

And just like that the figure was gone, causing Jayden to blink and turn to look back down the hall he had yet to travel (...he thinks). What...the hell was going on?

"Please tell me you heard that...right?" Maybe they could all go crazy together. What a lovely thought.

(ooc: Sorry, I couldn't think of a creative enough doodle for this one. DX So...basic picture this time around. c': )

Juliet gave a small sigh of disappointment, a bit downhearted that he knew just about as much of the situation as she did. Meaning? They were both up the river without a paddle and this river just so happened to be an endless maze of identical hallways in an unknown location.

Wunderbar.

"Hostel, huh?" She said distractedly, looking around the blank space again and mulling things over in her head. 'Some hostel... The room I woke up in was completely bare. Aren't hostels mainly for rehabilitation? I wonder if--'

Her thought process was interrupted as he mentioned the possibility of a kidnapper. The very idea nearly made her lose her balance and she spun around to face him again.

"Kidnapper?" She asked, sounding a bit more surprised than she intended, but still managing to keep her voice low, "Why would-You don't think-I never...thought...about that possibility." She looked off to the side, a bit unnerved by this sudden realization but deciding that it was best to keep as calm as possible.

After all, if she started to panic now, it would just be all kinds of unnecessary trouble for both her and Darryl. She had to go through this methodically. Consider all the options, figure out a plan, discover how to get rid of this abnormally sensitive hearing, and--

Again her train of thought was interrupted, "Huh?" She asked, looking up at him before giving a slight smile, "Oh, yeah. I guess I can't be really be called that anymore..." She said, rubbing the back of her head before looking back up at him, "I'm eighteen, sir."

She let a small moment of awkward silence pass between the two of them (she certainly wasn't going to ask for his age) before deciding that it was probably time to get moving again. Not that she was the type of person to start ordering a cop around, but the least she could do was put an idea out there in the open. Staying in one place like this wasn't the best move.

"Uhm," She started, moving her hand from the back of her head to her ear again, as the buzzing had gotten a little louder, "Do you...think we should start looking for some kind of exit? Or window, or air...vent...?"

Ugh, her head hurt.

This bites.

What else could she say? Robin had woken up and found herself in some crummy old room with nothing but a cot and a toilet. The door hadn't even been locked. Was this some sorta kidnapping gone bad? She hadn't yet found anyone else either. No kidnappers, no fellow victims, no nothing. She grunted to herself, looking disgruntled. Her arms were folded, and all she could hear was the stomp, stomp, stomp of her boots as she made her none-too-gentle way down the hallway.

This was all so frustrating! She just wished something would happen already. Good or bad, she needed to see something that'd help piece things together. Not that there were any pieces to place. She'd gone to bed and woken up here. There was no transition, at least not that she could recall.

Her arms dropped by her sides and she stopped dead, staring to her left and right. Hm... which turn to take? Left or right, left or right...

User Image Darryl looked down at Jason. Eighteen? Wow...talk about late bloomer. Even I wasn't that late.

Looking down the hallway she came from, the cop let out a huff of air almost reminiscent to a sigh, before rolling his shoulders and lighting up another cigarette. Then Jason suggested looking for a way out. I guess he's right...

"Yeah...yeah, we'll find a way out. We just need to--" Figure out where to go... "--look for it. Probably back the way one of us came...figures we'd have to turn around. How the hell can a building be like a damn maze?" Of course, what the male didn't tack onto his words was, And once I'm out, I'll get a hold of some damn FBI or whatever I need to. Fricking SWAT. Figure out who these F*****s are and nail their asses to the wall.

The pair starred at Jayden, their eyes each prying into the other boy as if he had just been hit by a semi on the highway. Sure, they were all a little different but now this kid was worrying them. Maxxi still hadn't heard the buzzing, but if the other two did then maybe he was just going deaf. That, or maybe these two were just a few screws loose and soon enough he'd die at one of their hands. Of course it was a morbid thought, but he really didn't hear anything much at all and Jay looked more perplex than Talon. Then again, Talon was giving the blonde a look as if he had four heads and was speaking in a foreign language.

"Well ... if the puddles that way ... I say we try the opposite hallway." The taller male took hold of Max's arm and slowly began to nudge him along in the direction opposing his "marked territory". As they began to walk, the buzzing was still the most predominant noise Talon could make out. Once out of ear shot of Jayden, the fire-starter started whispering to Maxxi and complaining of course. "Baby Boy, your new friend ... I think he might have problems."

Yeah, he had problems. Talon could only light himself on fire. That wasn't a problem or anywhere near being not normal.

Perfectly natural .... not.

"He's not the only one. Your both hearing things and I'm sitting here dealing with the fact that I hear nothing. Another problem would also be that cute little nickname of yours that keeps ending with you getting smacked." A small crack came as Max's hand slid across Talon's face in a gentle but powerful swoop. Talon stopped and with a small chuckle rubbed his cheek as he watched the other storm off down the hall. Turning to Jayden, he motioned for him to hurry and follow. Sure, he didn't exactly trust the new comer but he wouldn't just leave him behind on his own ... especially hearing things.

"Come on dude, before Baby Boy runs away and we can't find him. And your probably just hearing the buzz, don't look so panicked. The thought of the tiniest of their group running off on his own made Talon smile. he knew he wouldn't go far. If it came down to fighting, Maxxi would run straight to him again like in the bathroom.

"I wish"

"What was that Baby Boy?

"Oh ******** off"

This, was the worst of all days he had ever had. If he had tried to recall something worse than what was going on now, he could not, because there was nothing worse than this. though it might have been the panic that he was going through making him forget anything outstanding. Hain was being chased by something that crawled on walls, he wasn't sure what it was but it had been following him as he looked for an exit, but this stalking soon broke out into a full on chase. He'd been running for a little while now and he assumed this was some kind of nightmare. It felt too real though, and as he looked behind him to see if what had been perusing him had given up, seeing that it had, he turned a corner and before slowing down, slammed into something.

"Oh jeez." He said, falling back on his behind.

♦ Raziel

Raziel blinked back sleep. His head was pounding and the hum of the flourescent lights didn't make it any better. He coughed once before becoming fully aware of his surroundings; he scrabbled up off of his bedand fled into the corner under the television. He started to sob. He slowly inched his way along the wall, his tabi sliding along the floor silently. He cracked open the door slightly and peered out into the equally pristine hallway. More white, more...emptyness. Raziel loved being alone. He loved the time he got to himself but now...He missed the familiar surroundings. He missed the city.

White. Sanitary. It reminded Raziel of an insane asylum. Another tear dripped down his cheek. The door is unlocked. I'm alone.....How....did I get here? Should I.....Should I get out of here? Should I stay? Lemme....Let me look out once more....

He opened the door again hoping that it looked out into his school's courtyard, or into math class, or something. Nothing. It was the same emptyness; it mirrored his heart. I'll go.....maybe.....maybe I can find someone....something.

Raziel gently, tenderly open the door to his room and took a step outside before again, looking both ways across the hall. Endless doors. Endless lights. His was no different. He quickly slipped across the hall to thedoor opposite him and tried to open it. Locked. He ran to another. Locked. And another and another and another until he heard the satisfying release of the bulkhead only to swing it open and find, "Nothing..." He walked into the room and shut the door behind him. It was the same room. He scrunched up against the wall again and started to weep.
