EbilKitty *flops on the couch and starts reading new book* I can't believe how expensive books are here, $50 for a hardback eek Too bad I'm not compatible with libraries xd Ooooh, whatcha readin'? I'm reading an old paperback my dad recommended, called Re-Birth. The thing was printed in 1955 (it's almost as old as my mom!) and the pages are yellow and the cover is starting to fall off, but I'm liking it! It's a science fiction about 1000-2000 years in the future after we've blown ourselves up or something, and civilization starts again, and the religion is so strict, it's twisted logic!

Books are expensive...that's why I like second hand book stores...They're my favorite place to browse or shop at. I really need to spice my bookshelf up with things other than Nora Roberts and other romance authors. Maybe a good sci-fi will be a good distraction.

otherwise hunt for free books from http://www.bookcrossing.com/ , tell them that faeriebellamum referred you if you join smile You can search released books by your area and go hunting for them . My local library was subjected to an arson attak in early Dec. and is still closed for repair sad I used to sit at home and search amazon etc. refferred reading lists , then check my state library data base and fill out request cards to have books sent to my local library . Drop the cards in at the library and they mail them back to me when they have my books waiting . A lot more efficient that browsing the stalls with Bella in tow. Bella mostly knows her way around the large library now though and is happy to sit in the picture book area so i get a bit of a browse . Between us we can take out 12 books for a month at a time . Also videos , DVDs , CD's ,CDROMS, books on tape , jigsaws , educational toys etc. I have seen a CDRom or two that i wanted to buy for Bella , but checked the state library first and ..voila ! We got to play . i do hope my library reopens soon , makes for a cheap day out for bella and I. Although our local second hand bookshop is under new management and i got some good buys there.

I feel like sharing news!
Last week we put our house in Albuquerque up for sale, and after it was shown to people for two days, someone made an offer on it for the full price we asked! We were floored! We knew it would sell quick, but geeez!
Then yesterday we went looking at the first house that really caught our eye from the email listings I get from our realtor. It was amazing, and for a reasonable price (for this area), so we offered on it the same day, and should hear back this afternoon, although it's kind of iffy because two other people also offered on the same house today. We'll see what happens. I guess what's meant to happen happens! There are so many things I love about that house though, and out of all the houses we looked at 3 years ago in Albuquerque, none were this cool!

Good luck on getting it! I have always wanted to house hunt. Some day I'll be able to. That is my one true dream... to own my own home!

We got the house, but it hasn't sunk in. I didn't let myself get excited about it yesterday just in case it wasn't accepted, but now that it has been, it doesn't feel real. I'm in denial.
No money leftover for furniture though, and we'll need a fridge, washer, dryer, computer desk(s), another couch, and a tv.
