I bought a Peterson's Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants. I figure it might be helpful in the future.

I also bought the book 'Tales of a Shaman's Apprentice: An Ethnobotnists Searches for New Medicines in the Amazon Rainforest'. It looked like an interesting read.

Those do seem very interesting!
If i had the money to spend on books i definatley would pick one of those up ^^

Do you have plans of visiting the Amazon? If so, through which countries?

Well, I am not planning to the amazon anytime soon, because I do not have the cash for it. However, I study herbology and many different types of herbal medicines, so I buy all sorts of books that I can about ethnobotany, herb books, and real life experiences of botanists and herbologists. I mostly read them for not only fun, but for cross-referencing on different types of herbs, and herb collecting techniques. I also like to just like to learn about their experiences.

But I do like to go to the amazon in my mind. hehe. Maybe someday I would like to go there.

Wow, being a botanist would be so awesome man.

I under stand, funds for trips are low all around =/
I'd really like to go too, no matter how many life threatening bugs and snakes are there ^^

Oh BTW, If you are looking for good books that are real cheap, check out places like Half Price Books, Goodwill or other thrift stores that carry books. Many of my books that I got for the most part cost no more than $1-$2 a piece starting, and they have stuff in almost every subject if you really search the shelves. I have found some good deals. I once found Chris Paoulini's book 'Eldest' for $3 when it is being sold at Walmart for $16. And that was the hardcover edition with the dust jacket with only at tiny tear in the corner.

Also online book trading websites are great too. I use Swaptree.com, where I trade books, cds, dvds and video games with other people. You just need to pay for shipping and you can trade stuff with other people. I just love it!

My husband just ordered a beer brewing kit. In a few months time we should be drinking our own homemade beer!

He learned that you can actually grow your own hops and wants to grow it himself when we eventually get a house. That is if it doesn't take up too much space, heh whee

My aunt and uncle used to make their own beer and wine (be careful, you'll get the bug and not know when to quit!), and it was really good! They had so many different beer recipes that they just called them A,B,C.....I think it was on H or I that they decided to make wine, too. Good thing there was a '60's-era bomb shelter in the backyard that my uncle built. It made a perfect cellar for storing all the beer and wine.

Hops is a vining plant. If you have a balcony with a top, you could grow it overhead if there's enough light, or along the railing. I read somewhere that just breathing the aroma of the hops flowers is enough to "calm" you----

That is because when used as a regular herb outside of the alcohol arena, it can be used as a soporific, and a sedative to calm nerves, help with asthma, and with other problems.

Ha ha! That's great.
Awww....I miss taking biology crying

We got the beer kit today! So excited! Neat things about the hops though!
I'd love to try and make my own wine too. That will have to wait till we get a house. But making things like that ourselves gets me super excited whee

It's a tricky relationship, biology and me. I had a mini melt down the other day because I couldn't see the difference between the sclerenchyma and collenchyma plant cells. (They all look like blocks!)

My dad used to make beer. It was his favourite thing. He would make an entire event out of it and he was so proud of his beer. Please post how that goes and give us insider tips!

Yesterday I learned that my biology teacher used to work in neurology. surprised

Today i bought a aroma fusions room fragrance with crushed lavender in hopes it will help me sleep.

Today i learned that Spain is in a bit of an economic rut with jobs and such as are we Americans.

Today i made a new sign for our house to make my dad happy. A few months ago he made something for my brother using our new wood router and showed me how for some reason. And i dont think he knows i was interested in it.

So i sanded an old piece of wood and made a sign for our house and painted it brown and white ^^ He was happy =]

What i made

((in the photo, i had to use a sticker for the '19F' because i had trouble with numbers =/ ))
