Time had gone by so slowly for the past eight months. Since her fathers death, Alustia had been very lonely. Others did not openly except her and she longed for the days that her father had spoke of. He had told her fantastical stories of humans excepting him and thinking of him as a hero. She had never seen that side of human nature, even being half human was not enough to escape her heritage. Ali did not know where she was, she felt as if she would never leave the trees that seemed to extend for miles and continue on to eternity. Ali only traveled at night, and would sleep throughout the day, this was the 4th night in this forest with no signs of civilization. She just stayed alert and continued, hoping to find a village soon, she was running low on supplies.

Autum woke up from a nap she had taken in the middle of a painting.... she stretched her arms above her head...
she messed up her hair.. well i guess she tried to tidy it....
and got out of her bed... she looked at her painting... and decided to come back to it later.... she put on her shoes and a sweater... and left her little home.. to walk through the woods...

The moon was full this night and the air about me was clear. I moved through the trees like a serpent, never making a sound. The previous night's attempt on my life had left five bodies behind me in the clearing. I did not stop to wonder why they had tried to kill me. I have that effect on people. Almost everyone I met wanted me dead for some reason. Those that did not, also did not know what was best for them. I shifted directions, turning due east. I had a rather far journey left to go. I was not worried though. I would simply find shelter when the sun rose with it's cursed killing rays. My hood was not covering my head this night, only because at the speed I was going, I had yet to figure out how to keep the damn thing up. I highly doubted I would run across any life tonight, though, and had decided not to worry about the hood. I kept a keen eye on the forest in front of me. Even though I was traveling too fast for a mere human to see, I knew there were villages close by and did not want to risk a confrontation with one.
Humans tended not to like vampires much. I had even had a run in with one, an elderly fellow, that had tried to stab me with a pitchfork. Bad for the human. It was always bad for others when they tried to hurt me. But the human had particularly unlucky that night because I had not fed before the confrontation and was just pissed off enough to feed from the old man. I had chided myself for doing such a wicked thing, but had long since forgotten about the whole ordeal.
A sound ahead made me stop. It had come from perhaps a path or a road. I did not venture to find out. I smelled them then. Humans. They had a mule with them. I figured them to be traders or merchants, moving supplied and goods from one town to the next. I waited the few precious minutes it took for them to pass me, then darted forward to get across the path. The humans did not happen to notice me, thankfully, as they kept jabbering on about their next stop on the path to being rich or something of that nature. Seeing these people, though, reminded me that I had not yet fed this night. Heaving a small sigh, I doubled back, stepping onto the path. My gaze easily found the group. There were three men and a rather large pack mule. Two were walking in front of the creature, the other had been chosen to take up the rear. From the way his shoulders were hunched forward, I decided he had not volunteered for this position. Better for me, I decided. With this in mind, I moved silently toward the group. I was hoping for a silent kill. My wish was not granted, however, when the mule let out a nervous noise and planted it's hooves.
"Ah', come on ye bloody animal!" shouted one of the lead men. I assumed the one to yell this was the one holding the lead-rope attached to the now braying animal. I moved in swiftly then. Things got quite noisy once I descended upon the group. The mule, figuring it best for itself to get away, did just that, galloping away into the trees. This made the men glance about, looking for whatever had terrified the mule. Then they spotted me coming after them and began to scream. I managed to catch all three, simply by rendering the first one I grabbed unconscious with the flat of my hand, then repeating this with the other two, all in record time. I did not worry about the mule. With any luck it would be caught and killed by one of the forest predators. Well, I could hope anyway. Lifting the first human male to me, I bent my head, letting my fangs lengthen. I sank them into the flesh of the man's neck and drank deeply.
It is an unwritten rule that vampires could not kill humans by feeding from them. If you did, you also died. At least, that was what the ancients told the people they turned. Whether or not this was actually true or not, I did not know as I have never bothered to give it a try. You know, just in case it is. I do not want to die finding out. I only drank enough to satisfy myself, the healed the would and set the man aside. I then debated on what to do with them. Should I just leave them to wake up on their own, knowing what happened? Or should I simply fiddle with their memories so they woke up not having a clue as to what the hell had happened? The second one sounded much better.
The last thing I needed was a bunch of vampire hunters killing vampires off until they thought they had the right one. Kneeling beside the man I had just drank from, I pressed a hand to his temple, pulling from his mind the memory of what happened away. I repeated this with the other two as well. The mule was not going to tell anyone anyway, so I gave the animal no thought. I then proceeded on my way, going more slowly this time. I needed the exercise now after feeding. I also stayed alert. A lazy vampire was often a dead one as well. I figured I was safe enough on the path though, and strode along it for quite some time. I moved off of it after sensing another's presence though and stuck to the trees after that.

The night was very beautiful this night, the moon was high in the sky. It seemed to brighten the whole of the forest. Ali had been traveling for several hours before she had heard a distant sound. The noise was sudden and stopped in an instant. She circled back, staying high in the trees, jumping gracefully from one branch to the next. Then saw a brief flash of movement, then saw it dart for the trees. 'I'll just follow whoever this is." Ali thought. 'Maybe I can get some more supplies.' She stayed stealthy, not wanting to deal with the scorn of her heritage. She decided that she would stay at a save distance, this person would never know she was there.

Having already left the path, I only hesitated a moment before sweeping back onto it. I could sense that other being quite close now and was not looking forward to any sort of confrontation. These things often lead me to kill people. I thought about my options. First, I could draw the cursed sword at my side and wait for the being to reveal itself. That, of course, was not the wisest of moves since the sword would find the being a threat and more than likely try to force me into attacking it. This would only end up in my killing the being before I got to ask why the hell it was following me. So that left me with the second option, which was to just stand there and look intimidating until either the being got bored with me or showed itself. Either way, the other being might end up dead. Like it or not, the Hiratoshi did that sometimes.
Shifting my stance slightly, I put on my most bored expression and stood there in the pathway. Either the being that was so carefully following me would be smart and stay away from me, far , far away, or it would come close and try to talk to me. The second option was not stupid, but it wasn't exactly smart either. How often did I just go up to a stranger in the woods and strike up a conversation? Never. Of course, I could not credit everyone as having the same level of intelligence as me, either. That rarely happened. The only person I had ever had the honor of meeting that could keep up with me was a fellow vampire called Lucid. He was who I was on my way to see. Hopefully, with luck, I'd get there before the sun made an appearance. That was with luck though, and thus far, I hadn't had much luck.

Ali, gracefully perched on a branch, sat and watched the strange individual that stood there. It was almost as if he knew she was there, but how? Ali stayed there, motionless, observing him. She didn't need light, she had inherited her fathers vision, the ability to see in the darkest of darkness. She looked at the person for what seemed like forever, before she decided to speak. Ali was not stupid, she dare not show her face, not yet, but she had to know why he just stood there. "You know I'm here, don't you?" she said in her powerful yet feminine voice. "Why just stand there?" she asked firmly.

I lifted my gaze skyward for the barest of moments, concentrating on the sound of the heartbeat that pumped loudly. Focusing, I drew the sound inward, letting my instinct tell me where the source was. My instinct was never wrong and it told me exactly what I needed to know. The trees to my left and back a bit. I shifted my gaze there and saw the outline first. I recognized it as female. My body shifted on it's own to face this woman, my hand lifting to the hilt of Hiratoshi as if on autopilot. This was the weapon's doing, not mine, and I allowed it because it was only sensible. I would not be caught unaware this night. My pale gaze bore into the female, finding her form easily, even in the darkness.
"The same can be asked of you, sitting there on the branch like a monkey." I said, careful to keep my tone in the bored state. Can't let on that I'm actually curious, now can I? My face hopefully held no expression that would be readable to this woman, though I figured it didn't matter much if I actually smiled at my remark since I still wore my hood up. I allowed a small, tiny in fact, smile to hint at the corners of my mouth. I also made sure it was gone in a hurry. Can't be too careful.

Dani sat on the ground, watching her companion. It had been days since they'd seen the slaughter of the hunters on the plains. Since then, Daz hadn't really spoken much, other than to tell her to hurry up when she fell behind while they were traveling. She credited this to his severe lack of social skills. Her hand slid to where her whip was, coiled on the ground beside her, and she ran her fingers over the handle as she thought. Daz had never acted so strange as he had that day. Perhaps seeing those men slaughtered had snapped something inside him. Or perhaps the reason they had been traveling more than usual was that he had seen something that she hadn't and wanted her to be as far from it as possible. If that was true, then he still thought she couldn't handle herself in the face of danger. Or at all for that matter.
'Well in that case..' she thought, picking the whip up. The leather-bound handle felt smooth in her hand and she tucked the whip into her belt. 'I'll just go find out what exactly is beyond those plains.' she though to herself, getting up from her seat.

Daz did not even glance up. He didn't have to. He knew what she was doing. Call it a seventh sense. His sixth was the ability to see from the back of his head, as Dani liked to say.
"Stay put, Danielle." he said, his tone holding a warning note to it. He did look up now, to see if she'd followed his order. Typical to her nature, however, she hadn't. That would be because she'd probably not been around to hear it. Heaving a small sigh, he stood, packing up the rest of the meat he'd been carving. It would just have to wait now. His first duty was to Dani. If anything happened to her, he'd lose his purpose in life.
He took off, following her scent toward the plains. Hopefully, he'd find her before anyone else did. Hopefully.

"I stay in the trees so as not to be judged unfairly!" She remarked. Her hands had automatically grasped her scimitars, when the stranger pointed his blade in her direction; however, they remained sheathed. "I was simply following you, because you are the first I have seen since I have come to these woods. I mean you no harm." Ali said as diplomatically as possible. She did not know this man, and the one thing her father had taught her well, besides fighting prowess, was to be wary. "May I ask with whom I speak?"

Luxord had awaken in the middle of the plains of Demoria. Nothing but the night sky grazed his sight and he tried to raise himself up but his fresh battle wounds started to give pain as he lifted up. "Damn you Sin, you may be my brother but damn it i must stop you... or die trying to do so." He grabbed his katana and started to walk across the plains trying to find shelter before the sun would start to rise. "Damn this pain, damn Sin."

Sin had thrown his brother into the middle of the plains and soon returned to the city of Delmarr. His wings bleeding he found an alley in the city. It began to rain and he felt the soothing pelt of the water falling to earth. his insanity had stopped for a while to regain his body's health. "You my brother will die soon. And it shall be by my hands." He dropped his sword upon the floor, making an echo. Then he falls into sleep.

The wind swirled around Lyra as she danced about in the plains that seemed to guard the castle she had been taken to. And now that she had really seen the outside of it, it was indeed a castle, and a huge, rather foreboding one at that. True to her nature she had not gone too far from the structure. If something happened, she could always run back inside, right? Smiling, shew shook her head and simply enjoyed being outside. The sounds of the plains were rather soothing now, and the wind was her only companion for the moment. Moving through the tall grass, she hummed softly to herself, hoping to forget her problems in the beauty of the sunrise. She knew that she would need to be inside before darkness fell. And though such a thing was hours away, she still wasn't sure of her rescuer and nightfall seemed to be the only time he made any kind of appearance.

Dani weaved her way through the tall, golden grass that made up the plains of Demoria. She was crouched down so that she wouldn't be seen by any strangers. She could never be too careful. Most people couldn't be trusted, no matter what they said to her. This was what Daz had told her and she'd found it to be fairly true. She paused, listening to the sounds that floated around her on the breeze. Humming happened to be one of those sounds and she'd been just curious enough to try to find out who was doing the humming. He, she or it was just ahead of her now. Just above the line of grass, Dani could see the huge castle, looming over the grass like a bad omen. She'd have to explore that too, later. Castles always meant treasure. She hoped maybe she'd find some here too. She peeked carefully above the grass, trying to see if she could spot the humming person without being seen.
She wasn't exactly the bet at this, however and she knew it. She touched the coiled whip at her side, then stood all the way up, knowing that if something did happen, she could always hit the dirt again.

Lyra continued to hum softly to herself for several moments, but once again the wind seemed to be her only ally as it whispered a warning to her by carrying a strange scent along with it. Turning, she spotted the other girl and immediately fell silent. Taking a step back, she braced herself to run. The stranger was armed and though she did have he knife, it would do little good against the longer range weapon that the other woman possessed. Every instinct she had told her to run, but curiosity, damn that emotion, made her stay. The stranger was still a good distance from her and, over hundred feet away to be sure, but the castle was just as far. Lyra, unsure of what to do, simply stood there, ready at any moment to fight or flee, whichever she could manage.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 3:28 pm

Dani kept her crimson gaze in the other woman for a long moment, then took her hand away from her whip. The other person didn't seem to be armed and Dani knew that Daz would find her soon. She simply stared at the girl, wondering why she was here in the plains. Had this female come from the castle? If so, perhaps Dani wouldn't get to explore it after all. This thought made Dani pout a bit, for she'd really been looking forward to doing so. The sound and feel of her companion behind her made her turn slightly.

Daz formulated just a moment before Dani had turned to him, his gaze also on the strange female standing a few hundred feet from them. He then recognized her as the girl that the vampire had taken from this exact place the night they'd first come here. Shifting his gaze to Dani, he gave her a glare.
"You could have been kidnapped and taken from me. Or worse." he said. He didn't want to think about the or worse part. She dropped her gaze to the ground below them, fiddling with her cloak a bit. He knew it was a habit for her. He forced his gaze to soften, touching her chin with his finger to lift her face to his. "I forgive you. Just don't run off again." He returned his attention to the other woman, taking in her appearance. She didn't seem to be hurt at all now. He wondered what the vampire had done to her. Shifting his weight, he strode toward her, keeping his hands away from his weapons. He hoped like hell she didn't run, but if she did, he wasn't going to chase her. That would be a complete waste of his time. He did, however, take Dani's hand, forcing her to come along.
