The Locathah seemed to take great offense to the halfling swinging the mace toward him, and snarled something in the strange, liquid language they were spouting. The trident it held darted forward at the little rogue.

(Swing and a miss! That makes it Mareak and Jin's turn, simultaneous like.)

As he notices the hooks and the activities that are occuring, Mareak hastily takes the book from his lap and places it in the top of his pack. Throwing his cloak aside, he drew forth a crossbow and loaded it as the creatures boarded the boat. Mareak took a small step backwards, as far to the rear of the ship (and behind his companions) as he could get before taking aim and launching the bolt at the creature that seemed to be in charge. The bolt missed the head of the creature and flew off into the water, where it left a small spreading ripple.

Hearing the hooks attach themselves to their boat Jin rose to see what was causing their voyage trouble. The fish like creatures had already started advancing, but not before his half ling partner would take a swing. with his small looking club. Jin's face seemed to relax seeing opponents, yet he was more prepared for his fight then before. The fish man uttered something Jin couldn't even come close to recognizing before missing the dexterous thief.

Getting ready to take his own chance he moved forward as the wizard moved back. Moving forward Jin's leg's had bent making him a more formidable force and ready to use any of his monistary teachings. Normally Jin might have stomped or jumped to disorient an opponent, but being in a boat made things a bit harder for the martial artist. Once in reach Jin used his long legs to their full advantage thrusting hard at the fish man who was trying to injure Jakob with a side kick.

As he attacked he saw in the corner of his vision the bolt dart away missing it's target. Jin did not curse under his breath but rather concentrated now fully on combat. Being in a state of being he was trained to fight in. Jin let out a small grunt, it was a show of his power being released. It was obvious his walk up had warned the creature of the monk's presence. His kick missing it's target as the fish like creature darted out of the way.

Indeed, the Locathah had seen the kick coming from a mile away, and didn't think all too much of it. With a vague, fish-like smile he (she?) arcs the trident up in a wide sweep aimed at the monk's mid section. It wasn't used to prey who fought back bare handed, but it wasn't particularly afraid, either. Once it mowed down this land walker, it would worry about the more heavily armed foes on the boat...

Well, if he'd stop jumping around and dodging his attacks, anyway.

'They speak Aquan...' Camlin thought to himself as he drew his rapier from it's scabbard. "If you guys would be so kind, try and keep them on the boat, either before or after their deaths," he said. "I'm curious as to their possessions."

Apparently, his other party members were well ahead of him in terms of how to deal with these interlopers. Far be it from Camlin to say otherwise, seeing as how he spoke not a lick of Aquan...yet, at least. Who was attacking who was still a little vague at this point, so him thrusting his sword against one of the fishmen more then likely wouldn't complicate things too much.

....Assuming he actually hit one of them, that is.

It was like one of those war movies where two armies would clash, and no one would die, because of all the shields and deflections, so on and so forth. Well, the fishman would have acknowledged as much if he knew what a movie was. The fact that he didn't know all that much about anything would only complicate matters further anyway. A furious bellow at the incompetence of his fellows rang out, and he leaped forward, bringing his trident to bear on Jin.

Apparently this one was just as incompetent, though, despite being larger. The blow was close, uncomfortably so, but Jin was a little bit too fast to be caught. The Locathah seemed to be rather... upset about that and was beginning to foam at the mouth.

The ship rocked back and forth in response to the two parties battling aboard. It was now a few seconds into the fight and nobody had scored a hit on either side. Jakob didn't have sea legs which explained the wide swing he made previously though slowly his natural dexterity would take over and accommodate for the rocking vessel.
His wide swing left him low on the creatures left side. As it brought it's trident down towards him he rolled right and came up quickly, mace swinging at the creatures torso.

The mace connected with a solid thud. The creature let out a shriek in response to the damage recoiling slightly. It was hard to tell how badly the creature was hurt but with pain comes fear. Hopefully they would retreat before anyone from his party got injured.

The fishman stumbled in pain, having felt something inside his body crunch on the contact. Unlike the leader, he didn't seem to have quite the same feral rage. However, he also seemed to be far from done, as he pushed forward with another jab of the trident.

Luckily for Jakob, the pain seemed to be severely affecting his aim...

The kick had missed, Jin hopefully would not under estimate his opponents agility like this again. Landing his foot on the now rocking boat he was able to easily stay standing. He had practiced on a moving boat before. Feeling an attack would be inevitable from the fish man the monk was able to anticipate the long spear from the easily agitated monster.

Weaving away from the spear before it struck anything Jin got close, as all of his attacks were forced to be. He attempted to strike now with a quick elbow. This along with any other bare handed attack Jin were heavily trained to take out an opponent. The monk did not hope that his elbow would land on a soft part of the Locathah's head, but rather let nature take its course in their fight.

The close attack was a bit too short, the fish man able to lean his face away before it connected with his head. His opponent got away by expanding the space between his face and the monk's elbow. Jin was starting to feel the challenge now as again his attack had missed this Locathah.

Mareak stood still as far behind his companions as possible. On a ship like this, his crossbow would be able to shoot the entire way across normally, so range was not an issue. He drew forth another bolt from the quiver hidden beneath the cloak. He fit the bolt into the bow before sighting along the crossbow and letting his missile fly. Again, it sailed off the boat and into the water.

This annoying little human was still trying to fight so valiantly without a weapon! The Locathah was quick in making sure it didn't receive a blow to the head, but he wasn't really taking the guy seriously, another casual thrust of the spear proved. Proving to be one of the most bloodless fights in recorded history, the trident missed.

(It is Camlin's turn.)

Well, if anything, the fishmen were proving to be oddly athletic in dodging the blows of his party members, though the recond still stood at one strike against them, and none scored by them...all in all, strangely favorible, really. Camlin leveled his blade towards his opposition, the unharmed underling (or he assumed that it was an underling...hard to ask when you don't speak the same language), and thrusted towards the merman, hoping to score another hit for their side.

In hind sight, though, maybe a wider blade would be helping ever so slightly...

The final Locathah, the larger one who seemed to be in charge, let out a bellow, obviously not saying anything in particular. his eyes were filled with a smoldering rage, and he slammed a foot down on the planks, hard. There seemed to be a change in this one, as he began to act a little bit more careless, wilder. The trident was whipping about wildly towards Jin, faster than before.

That didn't really seem to help his aim, though.

(His AC is now 12, though the other two are still 14. It is Jakob's turn.)

Ducking under his opponents trident Jakob dodged yet another potentially fatal attack. They didn't seem to be very accurate but their weapons looked painful enough. Taking a step in Jakob swung his mace wide missing the creature entirely before stepping back ready to dodge the inevitable counterattack.
