.:Reputation is what other people know about you

Mordecai Keller was a child of love and magic. He was a love child with a truly unique gift - to see truth. To see essence. To reveal lies. Answer questions. Had this gift been developed, Keller's magic would have been sought for miles around, by generations of those seeking his guidance, and he would have administered his aid only to those pure of heart and sound of mind. But somewhere along the path, from the light of the love that bore him, to the cold technological arms that greeted him...

Mordecai Keller forgot who he was.

Oh, he knew his name. He knew that his old childhood friends had once called him Cai. He also knew that he had a fairly handsome face, and that many a girl had described his eyes as "deep and soulful". He knew his home address, and he knew his parents names. He knew a great many things pertaining to himself. Yet not one of these single things were himself. No, it was the essence of his own soul, the identity of his very being, that he forgot. It was through a strange twist of fate, an ironic play on words, where words were people and sentences were generations, that the only man who could have seen the Truth, had buried himself beneath a Lie.

Mordecai Keller, at least how the world imagined him, was a proud child of two industrious technologically minded parents. He had been schooled in the best universities in the nation. He had earned his Master's in half the time of his classmates, and he had been in the top 3% of the nation's graduating class. Yes, he was very intelligent, but somewhat arrogant because of it.

Currently, Mr. Keller was a prominent employee at a physics institution. He worked with figuring out how things in the world worked. Things like gravity. The movement of the stars. Nuclear physics. It was sad that the man who thought he had once known what the word "magic" meant, was now so intensely interested in such boring lies as something like gravity.

but today, something was different. Something was changing; and Mordecai Keller did not like change.

First, he thought he had heard someone say his name earlier that day, yet when he looked about himself, he was alone in his lab. Then, every so often, he thought he saw a childish figure fleeting from the corners of his vision. Yet no matter how quickly he ran to the corner of the hallway, after turning it he found nothing more than an empty corridor.

He was seeing Truth, for only the second time in his life. Yet, sadly, Mordecai was too busy convincing himself that the truth was a lie, and that lies were true, that he ignored these signs. He blinded himself to the world that lay at his fingertips.

So, on this most unusual of days, where he thought he had heard singing in the morgue of his facility, Mordecai left his office for lunch, leaving at 11:11 precisely. Why he felt the need to take his lunch at this unusual time, he could not be certain, but hunger had suddenly befallen him. So he walked from his office into the city, knowing he had a full hour before he was due back. An hour in which he could explore, look for a nice coffee shop, and pretend that he didn't see a sparkle in the eyes of a passerby.

Mordecai Keller had forgotten himself; is there anyone who could help remind him?

Honor is what you know about yourself:.

You'll never expect what you can't see...

Kite slowly walked the streets. He seemed to be watching the children born of love. Just in the way they acted, you could separate a good majority of them out from the technological born. He pulled out a folded piece of loose paper, straightened it out, wrote something down on it and quickly shoved it into the briefcase. He continued his walk. He'd be late if he didn't hurry.

Desiree pulled a piece of candy from her pocket and popped it into her mouth. Her blue shirt floated out behind her. She was in the lower part of town. This was where she saw those things every now and then. She wondered what wonders she'd find today. A man in a business suit was in front of her. She recognized him from classes. It was Kite. She blushed as she had a slight crush on him.

Desiree had been coming to this part of town for quite sometime. Well ever since her mother's grandmother's ring got stolen by some little thing with wings. Of course no one believed her. Her mother must have just misplaced it was the excuse. But Desiree never really saw the winged thing...it was most confusing. She just caught glimpses. Wings here and pixie dust there. It must all be fake because fairytales weren't real.

The love children told similar stories...but who could trust a love child? They were raised different. Right? Desiree had trouble trying to find the truth. Kite still walked in front of her. She felt like she should hide. But she was stronger than that at least. She wasn't like all the other girls who couldn't even talk to boys. She just blushed a bit and sometimes didn't know what to say. With her body, boys were always after her. She had to learn how to deal with them.

Orion sighed. "We should probably get headed back." Charlie nodded and together they headed back to the city. The streets were still a bit empty for a day like today. Orion and Charlie were talking animatedly about their phones.

"Let's sell a few more before the days out," Orion said excitedly. It was still before noon. Orion knew they could make some more money easily if they just sold outside a restaurant. Charlie sighed and nodded. It was early so although Charlie wanted to go home, he knew it was best to sell.

Together they made their way to the upscale part of town, passing a guy in a business suit and a girl in a loose blue skirt and corset top. "Strange clothing..." Orion mentioned. "But its hot," Charlie commented back earning himself a harsh gaze. After finally making up town, they decided on a booth by a nice upscale coffee shop. They started showing off their phones again. A pixie came up to try and steal one of the flashing devices, only to have Orion swat him away with out missing a beat selling a phone to a customer.

You'll never expect what you can't see...

Kite watched as two love children ran by holding some sort of glowing tech. As they passed, Kite couldn't help but wonder where love children could find such fancy devices. He saw the woman dressed in blue. She seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place his finger on it. His watch beeped. He looked to it,, "Crud! It'll be starting soon!"

He turned and began to run. As he approached a section of town where many love-born children lived, he couldn't help but notice again that the place seemed horribly run down in comparison. Several children were now running at his side and in front of him. "Apartment 704 still, right?" he asked to one of the kids. The child nodded.

Running up several flights of stairs, he reached out and grabbed the already open door to hold it as the few remaining kids entered. He then went in, shutting the door behind him, and sat down amongst the children as they spoke of their 'adventures with the fey.' He passed out a few loose pages for them to draw on. He was writing fiercely as they spoke.

Desiree was surprised to see Kite run off. Being curious, she followed. Where was he going? She followed him into the rundown heart of love-born area. It was so terrible here that if often made her want to cry. She saw some children running in the same direction as Kite. Their tattered clothing barely holding onto their bodies. It was a sad sight to say the least.

She followed him into an apartment that said 04, but it was clear that the number 7 had once been in front of them. "Kite?" she asked after all the kids started talking and scribbling. She felt bad about interrupting him, but she was very curious.

You'll never expect what you can't see...

"Quickly, setup A," Kite whispered to the kids. All the kids sat down on the floor. Kite's voice and all the shuffling could be heard from outside the room. Kite quickly closed the briefcase and stood up at the front of the room, holding a paper that said '2 + 2' in large font. "You may enter," he said as he took his stance. He honestly wasn't expecting anyone at the door, and didn't know who it might be.

Desiree was in complete confusion. She didn't know what was going on. As far as she knew Kite was just a regular student. She blushed gently as he looked across the room at her. "Um...I go to school with you...I'm Desiree McFen..." Her confused, big eyes darted about the room.

Desiree didn't know what else to say. She just put on her best smile and crossed her hand underneath her breasts to lift them just a little. Desiree knew she had an amazing body. Though she often hated comments on it. She wanted to be liked for who she was, not because she happened to have a good body.

((I wish to apologize for not responding sooner, we had the fire alarm go off here.))

Kenny continued along. 'They're not real. They're not real' he chanted to himself. He let out a sigh and began to calm down. Setting down his books next to a bench and looked back to the corner of the alley where he saw the last fey.

Another kid came running out. Kenny started to get nervous that this was the person he ran into. How would he be able to explain why he was in a rush? He stood there, slowly getting more and more nervous, as the boy in black approached.

Kite stood there, somewhat dumbfounded. "Umm... hello... Desiree." He was getting nervous from enjoying the view, but trying not to stare. His cheeks turned pink. "Mr. Sninnz likes Desiree," one of the 'students' shouted. "What? Wait." Kite's eyes grew huge and his cheeks grew a darker shade of red as he turned to the kids.

The entire group started chanting the phrase the first shouted. "Hey, stop it!" kite snapped, stomping his foot. The kids screamed and ran out of the room. "I guess today's meeting will be short," he said to himself.

He approached Miss McFen. "Well, ignoring the peanut gallery, how may I help you?" Before she could answer, he started thinking out loud, "Wait, if you and I go to school together... why are you in a place like this?" He looked to her suspiciously, slowly recalling her in his class.

((Its alright. I still love you...lol))

Desiree smiled. "I enjoy the stories of the love born...tales of magic and mystery...we techies never hear. I find them amusing." Her tone was cool, though her face had a tender blush to it. As mentioned earlier, Desiree could handle herself. She had no fears of telling anyone why she visited the love borns. Anyone who did not find enjoyment in their stories were heartless and had no imagination left. "What, Mr. Sninnz," she said, mimicing the children, "What brings you here?" She let her finger touch his nose and flashed him a winning, sexy smile.

As Zepher turned he saw the exit to the alley up ahead with a pierce white glare as if he was running out the end of a dark tunnel. As he exited the alley he came upon a small park. He looked around and found the boy with books sitting on one of the benches that lay across the fake green grass. He slowly approached the kid hoping not to make him run again. As he made his way to the bench and sat down next to him. "So what is your name?"

((Sorry, it's past midnight here, and i have class in the morning. So I'll continue tomar-... later today. Until then all, adios))

Kenny sat there terrified of the guy who sat next to him. "Umm. My name's... Kent Hitiyoko, sir." Kenny was still trying to find a good excuse to give the man. Nothing came to mind.

Kite put his hand on his head, "Heh. So you heard that." His expression became a little more serious, putting his hand back down to his side. "Don't tell anyone, but that's actually why I'm down here. The world of fantasy these young ones can weave... it's fantastic. It is a little odd how they all tell the same story though. I mean, with as many creative minds here as there are, one would think there'd be a small hindrance in their stories. But that's all they are, are stories." He looked down as he finished, as if caught in a fantasy of his own. He then looked back to her, catching up again with 'reality.'

.:Reputation is what other people know about you

Mordecai walked down the sidewalk, the noise of the city blaring and whispering and shouting and bumping into him. He wore an expensive white scientist suit, and he ran a hand through his hair as he looked for a suitable place to eat.

He looked, on the outside, like any ordinary Tech adult. Perhaps, of course, a particularly wealthy tech adult, but the signs were unmistakable. On the outside, he had all the money, all the gadgets, all the material meaningless stuff that people traded in their lives for. Yet, briefly, when you looked into those eyes of his, you could see the spark of a Love child, and a raw, hidden, majestic magick beneath. It was a brief glance, and one that no tech would ever be able to see.

Yet on this day, perhaps that glimmer would be noticed, at least by one person. As the fancy suit-wearing tech walked down the street, he saw two children, Orion and Charlie. Of course, he did not know anything about these two, but as he passed, for the slightest second he... saw something. For one reason or another, and though Mordecai did not understand it in the least, his magick, his ability to See the True nature of a thing, was struggling, fighting its way to the surface. So, for a brief instant, as Orion swatted away a pixie, it caused Mordecai to stop, to skip a step and do a double-take. The moment was brief, but when he looked from the empty space that he could have sworn held a small, strange looking figure, and looked back to the two children, there was that peculiar sparkle in his eyes. Then the moment passed, and he looked just like any other techie. He smiled down at the children, and looked at their phones, "How much?"

"Of course, nothing but stories." Of course Desiree had saw glimpse of the things that were in the tales of the children. She had seen the blur of wings and what might be considered fey and magic. But as a techie, she couldn't believe. If she ever wanted a chance with a guy like Kite, she had to stay cool.

She pressed against him. "So, now that class is done here...what do you plan to do now?" This was her first real chance to spend time with him. She had talked with him in class. So she knew a bit about him. One of the most accomplished students actually. Not to mention handsome. He was the handsome to her beauty. The intelligence to her smarts. All her friends thought they were the perfect pair. But no one thought this more than her. However, she had never had a chance to be with just him to just hang out. "Oh, by the way...call me Ray"

Orion noticed the brief sparkle in the customer's eye, but had little clue as to what it meant. Orion pepped up talking about the device. "Once a cell phone, now a mini dj in your pocket. Press combinations to set off lights and your favorite songs." Orion handed the customer the sheet of paper with the combinations on it. "They are only $100 each. Cheap for all the combinations it has." And it was truly cheap. Since the boys used hardly anything to make the phones, however, it gave them a decent profit that would pay for their rent if sells kept up.

Charlie smiled. "Plus, we are currently running a buy one, get the other 50% off...they're a perfect gift." Charlie wasn't the sales person that Orion was, but he knew how to make a decent sale. Charlie's red hair rippled as a pixie landed in it. Charlie lifted his hand up and brushed it away. The pixie's really liked the phones apparently.

User ImageThe conversation soon ended and it made Sophia a little more awake and alert. Good thing there weren't many people about on the streets, because this was the poorer side were she lived, they would easily take anything they saw was valuable. A sigh left her lips but she stopped in her path to glimpse a male running into a building with a briefcase and a few love children. Another followed him with a slight curious appearence. 'I wonder what that was about. Surely no one's made anything worth selling down here, right?' She thought, but she was also curious as to know what was going on.

Getting home, she handed her mother the groceries, who then told her she had until the sun set to get the other thing she had requested over the phone for dinner. After she was changed into something more suitable, a pair of knee length jeans and a checkered black and red top. Walking back to the building, she just about heard screams coming from inside. Raising an eyebrow, she stood away from the door, as if waiting for a mad man to come rushing out with a large knife or something. Instead, the children from earlier came running out, a few laughing and other chattering about what had happened. She tried listening in but couldn't, they were all speaking at once, it seemed.
