ok nevermind wtf I just said in the post above. I'm destined to be hooked on gaia for the rest of my life, I just know it.
stressed Anyways, I was actually moved to come back beacuse I was lounging about on LJ and noticed this post in Gaia drama:
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10542216&page=1And holeymoley some people just rillyrilly want to get their panties all in a knot, hey? I guess they must be masochists or something.
Starters: Gaia's a symbiotic relationship according to my brain's snyapses and whatnot. Without us nutter users being all "we enjoy gaia so much that we'd like to expend time and resources to ensure that it has liveliness to it!!" Gaia wouldd just be a fascinating, empty forum. With is like being on a gorgeous desert island and having only yourself to enjoy it. So in that regard, admins gotta keep up with those features for those who want shiny baubles to be content.
On the flip side, users need to respect the admins so that they'll feel like they want to continue making those baubles to maintain this child-like need for novelty.
But at any given moment, Lanzer & co could so easily pull the plug on Gaia and pfffft. That's that. Unless something seriously monumental happens, I doubt that'll occur though, seeing as Gaia's grown to be one ******** hunk of a forum. ...and by hunk I don't mean "hottie," I mean "chunk" like hunk. Like a fat piece of something or some other.
...errumyeah anyways.
sweatdrop But yeah, Bolweevil is sure one hell of a fan of the administration though. Definitely a pro to ensure that the admins know that there are users out there who respect the work that they do and really do what they can to follow the rules. ...perhaps a little too strictly though, if you know what I mean.
As Dr. Denious eloquently puts it, Gaia's a democracy. Admins can put and prod whatever they please, but they need to listen to the wails of the lowly, ordinary member to see how they should direct the growth and development of the site. To fully establish a grand site, they need to connect with the masses and determine some sort of equilibrium.
However, I have to admit, I'd feel pretty arsed if something I'd worked hard on were unraveled and exhibited to the world. Even if it was an error on my part to have released it, doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt to have it unveiled in an unformal way. Like when you spill your cup of delicious coffee? It's not like you can blame the crack on the sidewalk for something wrong that you did and you can't go back. Doesn't mean that you don't feel like crying because that was a delicious cup of coffee...
crying ...err yeah so uh~ yeah. YAY I like these subforums! As soon as I get more gold in my pockets, I'm going to make a new subforum for my dollies, another one for a little art shop store thingy that I had in mind, and uh... yeah, that's probably it. Can't think of anything else.
sweatdrop Damn, it's getting closer to 4 am and I'm so behind on my readings. DAMNDAMNDAMN.
